The senior telemaster. What’s the power system in it????? Gotta know
0:25 that’s why I really love smaller and lighter hero session. It’s ideally suited for RC planes, and it also proved to be completely indestructible.
10 years ago Flite Test did a 10 episode beginners series. It's needs to be redone and you guys should do it!
That would be great
that would be so good

It's good to hear crashing is part of the hobby. My fms pa1800 just fell out of sky on my final approach, turned going to slow. Last battery of the day. Got to confident.
I was told early in my RC flying that it's not IF you will crash, it's WHEN. Sooner or later, we all crash. I realized I was maturing in the hobby when a crash didn't discourage me from flying more that day.
its the most fundamental part of the hobby hahaha
so many of my planes "fall" out of the sky on on approach because they stall out on the final turn. Got to do the base turn very far away and carry speed right up to the landing flare.
Thanks for mentioning the ama “insurance” thing. So many are pushing the ama membership as an insurance policy, and it is not. It used to be like the GOA or FPC for RC pilots and would protect our rights but not so much any more.
Yes, and I will never pay them a dime because of their betrayal.
The 4s puppy got me 😂😂😂
Just got done with a Saturday at my hobby shop (no R/C but did), and to see these videos is so cool. The best!
LOL i legit put a go pro on my FMS PA-18 1300mm within a week of buying it. I even bought the gopro for the sole purpose of putting it on my plane. Luckily for me I put it under the wing all the way into the fuselage and lined it up with the CG. Didn't even get any counter weights and it flies beautifully. That plane is a beast!
Great is always, love the educational and entertaining content!
4s on the dog.... incredible 👏
hey guys! Love the videos, and you guys got me to change my attitude towards crashes. I recently crashed my Bf-109G, and rather than being angry with myself, I looked at why it happened and laughed about it with my friend. Thanks for everything!
In full scale we used to say there are two kinds of RG pilots - those wo have landed gear up, and those who will. The same principle is obviously true in RC, so this list is darkly useful to those of us who have not quite completed it yet.
What is RG?
@kyle_mk17 Retractable gear. Acronyms can be a pain cuz there’s way too many, especially in full scale.
Great work! Entertaining and educational.
I hope there will be a video about this 3d telemaster. Love your videos btw.
Imagine:
Teaching yourself to fly with no prior model experience, watches, but never flown with a club, or ANYBODY else for that matter (idk anyone personally that flys ANY RC, all crawl), never knew Sims for RC where a thing. I still have so many questions. Is it considered normal to see a school track as a PERFECT runway when not in use? Do other ppl REALLY fly the park? Am I a bad guy for not using remote ID? Is anything grandfather claused in? Do my planes upset people, or do they enjoy seeing them? I've been really fortunate! Every time someone confronted me, I got legit permission to fly the spot. Ive only totalled a UMX TT by looping a wire and ripped the gear off. And wing stalled on a go-around, and a nose over prop breaker on the HH Cessna 150T, heck of a 2nd plane! Saved awhile. I was lucky and had full size experience really young, I'm positive that helped a large degree. I wonder how many other pilots are like me?? ❤
Every time i fly i make a mistake.... but that's the fun thing about flying..
Thanks, great video!
I love the videos! Keep up the good work :)
You guys have really stepped it up a notch! Love these new videos!
The giant slow stick with the timber wing caught me eye. I want one
I love how to intros to these videos are slowly becoming so high quality😂
The best advice I can give: Never ever try to land on the propeller . It will fail .😂😂😂
Very wise thoughts.
The AMA insurance gets a bad rap because people don't understand it's secondary. Thanks for mentioning that.
3:15 most noobs don’t know how to check gyro orientation. They check control stick direction with the gyro activated and think this is all they need to do. After all, if the stick moves the control surface the correct way, how can the gyro get it wrong? I’ve seen this happen and the noob defend their actions this exact way. They don’t know what they don’t know.
So true
Thanks once again, for top notch entertaining content. Congrats on mastering Tele-Hover-Master! I hovered my SiG MkII Kadet with OS-50sx on the pipe, but the coolest was really old Italian guy, friend of my Italian instructor named Ray Beanchi in Chelmsford MA field Torque Rolling SiG Seniorita with 3-Chanel(Throttle, Rudder and Elevator only) Hitec radio and controlling it every second for three turns, and doing 4 point rolls with it(or 1/4 Snap Rolls rather). And that is how its done - Snap Rolls and Torque rolls, they said...
BTW, 12 foot WS Telemaster called by Hobby-Lobby - "Balsa Overcast"!
Lol gopro is me
(Also side note, you guys are at 39k now?! I started watching at 200 its cool to see you grow)
Bwaahhaaa at the 3s - 4s 😅 was climbing my old hand me down 2meter hobbyking fpv up for a nice glide down. It looked really neat with the stream of smoke on the steep climb. But, the glide down was shorter than normal. 😅
Mistake #13: always blaming something else for the mishaps, instead of admitting and learning from mistakes. "Radio interference! CG shifted! Battery crapped out!" Yeah. That stuff happens, but if we don't admit our dumb-thumb moments or brain-farts, we're doomed to repeat them.
"CG shifted! Battery crapped out" are piloting errors that should have been caught during a preflight check. Radio interference could also be a builders mistake too but that problem should show itself on the first few flights.
I have had a few instances of velcro failure causing CG shift when the battery slips loose. I've had a battery run out faster than normal, despite no difference in flying style (not sure what caused it), and fortunately, the results weren't bad. I've quit using my Tactic radio out at our flying field, as there is an area at the northwest corner of the pattern where the planes started acting wonky. If it happened with my Spektrum radio as well, I would think it was possibly something I was doing wrong, but it only happens on the Tactic. Not sure if it's interference, or something in the radio itself. Since Horizon took over the Tactic line and has been phasing it out, I've been converting my planes over to Spektrum anyway, and that just added more motivation to do so.
Amusingly, the worst case of velcro failure I ever had, was in my FT Simple Scout. I came out of a loop, and the velcro let go, allowing the battery to complete depart the plane. I thought the Scout was done for, since no battery = no control, but she just glided in and touched down just fine. I've added a strap around the battery.
I’d argue you missed the biggest one: EVERYBODY STARTS AT THE BOTTOM. This is especially problematic for qualified full-size pilots. I have seen so many noobs come out for their first day with a high-end aircraft (EDF jet being the worst) and proceed to crash on climb out. They then cite a faulty aircraft because they are a legend. How hard can it be to fly a toy plane? “I’m a qualified commercial pilot!” Good for you, now come and learn on the trainer with our instructor.
i run so called 3s only planes on 4s all the time and havent fried a motor or esc yet after 9 years its called proper throttle management and down sizing the prop
Hey guys I love the vids you have been one of my biggest influences in rc it looks like you guys turned the timber into a slow stick I can't wait for a vid on that also you guys got a huge gasser which will be interesting to see
breaking control surfaces is built into the human brain. when i got my first plane, my sister grabbed the rudder, immediately breaking off the counterbalance. she was literally a baby, its human instinct, not something you learn.
OMG, that last MpD Commander landing was textbook for my first few flights! I mean why does it flip over???? Oh, yeah, it bounces and goes over.
Warching this after pkugging a 6s lead cable into AliExpress receiver with no esc and wqtching it spark and blow up was a experience
So gyro is pretty much the Mcas system but for rec planes
Ha I attached a gopro to my friends plane with CG in mind. Flew fine but the 2.4gig Hz seemed to screw with the remote and .......whooops
So the AMA insurance is useless.
Another one for the classics playlist. On the Spot as usual fellas. Tail Heavy For The RC Grammies.
What kind of music would you recommend for flying if you do listen to any
Why do you need music to fly ? Wanker
13 & 14 ; when one purchases a new lipo from the hobby store , have the salesperson check the storage charge in front of your good self . Same for new servos ; have it checked to ensure the hung - over slave from country of origin hasn't reversed the wiring internally .
I've had both ...
6:41 "never take those instances for ..granite?" Like the rock? Or do you mean GRANTED
Yea.... that backwards gyro... yea... 😬🤦🏿♂️🤣🤣🤣
Does your AMA insurance cover you for the scalding coffee I just blasted out of my nose at the 'flies like an obese woman' skit, because that was LEGENDARY!!!
(Disclaimer: I'm not suing.)
Err 1: i did not have a go pro but a old iphone. i wrapped in font of the plane , crashed the first time but successfully flew and record the second. a good mistake for me.
@6:32 take my money!
I fly my flightline f7f (4s) with a singke 6s batt, it can hit 104mph acording to gps
The GoPro one is just way too relatable even though it's not related to skill.
A poorly mounted Go-Pro is a result from a lack of understanding i.e. skill.
@@toolbaggers Understanding does not necessarily equate to skill, let's not fight about this and unite around what brings us together, flying toy airplanes. :)
@@hayloft3834 Yep, just finished building my first one yesterday, still gotta do the Betaflight programming though.
Go pros. Heavy and have aerodynamic drag greater than a common brick.
@@HuckThis1971 Most of our toy airplanes have an aerodynamic coefficient less than a brick... at least mine do...
Like the guy said, "Don't SMOKE". (you will regret it )
I'm always wondering why people on this channel insist on making a fixed-wing aircraft behave like a helicpopter.
Yeah, how sacrilege of those guys... 😂
Gotta walk before you can possibly run.
When you're bored with your old 3d plane fly it in thy fire!😂
Wait, so if "someone" put a 4S in an AeroScout with a swapped ESC I'll melt the motor? Asking for a friend. 😊
I don't crash often but I Smashed my Trojan into the ground with a brain off inverted pull out, or in, anyway smash! Fixed though, uhu por and cocktail sticks
you guys are great good video 👍👍
How about putting smoke on an electric R/C plane!
i dont do anything but bounce one on lol
brb gonna 4s my hobbyzone champ
I love this channel
Gopro😂 I put a DSLR on an airplane 😮
Today I crashed my magister into a super tall tree
My wife said to tell you she can fly just fine!👀😂
Idiot - "Just limit the throttle on the controller to 75% and you're all good for 4s."
ESC - 😥🥵😡🤬👿🔥
Whoa. Whoa, dudes. Helen Keller jokes? Really?
Too soon, man. Too soon 😊👍
😀
Thanks for another great video! You make me laugh every time, as well as encouraging me! Any tips for cold weather flying? I've seen you fly when it's snowing & it looks like fun! ✌
Thanks! Check out our video titled, “RC Plane Winter Flying Life Hacks”. 👍
Another very insightful video guys👍👍😎😎👍👍BTW will you be doing a full video of that giant yellow Telemaster with you guys putting it through it's paces 3d wise??😁😁😁😁😁😁
if flying model airplanes was as easy as Flying quadcopters it wouldn’t be as much fun. because you couldn’t see your plane, smash into the ground and getting destroyed
:)
What to HOVER get a CHOPPER/QUAD Non't Hover that POS in front of me I'll fly my POS right thru you. Never fly over the runway except to land or take off. The far side of the runway is safest.
Interesting if true
I am the noob who can only fly FPV
Isn't #13 doing the Uncle Sam; throw more $$$ at it...i.e get a bigger plane?
Day 5 asking for gasser video😀
Good stuff guys, keep the videos coming.
Insurance Companies do nothing but try to pass liabilities to the next guy amd weasel out of paying for anything period...ITS THE BIGGEST SCAM OF ALL TIME....Pay your insurance every month and get NOTHING IN RETURN
Awesome video guys ❤️🛩
Reversed ailerons.......
Typical Insurance Companies always passing the buck off to other companies like a game of Hot Potato....
People that don't fly ask if that plane is made of foam I say yeah and they still have to squeeze it or put there fingernail in it ....... really?
Haha love it guys great content ❤❤❤new supporter here 🔥🔥🔥👊🏼
My pet PEEVE is other INSTRUCTORS that let Students FLY all Willy Nilly. Good Pilots are DISCIPLINED. They put the Airplane where they Want it not where ever it desides to go. i.e. you fly a Pattern till you put it PRECISELY on/ovey the runway the same EVERY SINGLE TIME. Down wind Base and Final/Touch down is exactly the same every time.
So basically requiring ama to fly at a feild is a waste of money since they try not to pay it sounds like! Awesome not!
I just farted so hard
We NEED a review on the umx conscendo.
The mistake I see most often is treating the plane as a toy.
They are lol. Don’t treat an RC plane like full scale. There’s already too much regulation in the hobby and treating them like real planes is only going to make it worse. Don’t get me wrong, I think regulation is important, as I am a full scale pilot, but RC planes are just toys.
In my eyes - anything that’s a non-essential item in your life is a toy. Even full scale planes are toys. The difference between some toys is that some require being taken a bit more seriously to avoid mishaps and to ensure safety (full scale). RC, on the other hand, does not require anywhere near that level. It’s what makes it so fun. You don’t need to stick to flying an airplane in one set confined way following strict regulations to avoid risking your own and many other’s lives. You can try hovering a Cessna, cuz hey, why not? Keep RC fun. Fly outside the box! 📦 ✈️ -Zach
I get you flycatchfull. It is a toy but treat it like toys and you will have many broken toys. I only learnt respect for rc planes after losing plenty of money flying it like toys. Since being more thorough, thoughtful and less focused on only the fun part of playing with the toy, I have improved radically and spend a lot less on new toys.
yes , model steam engines are also toys, however they are dangeres just like lipo`s and props.
@@woodytaylor8451
@@mikesierra8593 I'm glad you did but others think other wise. I grew up in the time of building from balsa wood kits and scratch building from plans. Now the only building I do is from a helicopter kit and those days are numbered. Foam has replaced wood and nitro fuel has been replaced by electric propulsion. It is all turning into a plug and play hobby. Call me a fossil but I think the past is better than the future.
Make a video about glow rc enthusiast!
Ok, I fell for it. You got me to watch the entire video (and comment) to confirm I've never made any of the "12 mistakes every RC pilot" makes. I really want to like this channel but this video is cheap and lazy.
It's all relative. Cheap and lazy? Or targeted to folks who don't have the experience you have? Sorry to hear you see it that way. 😥
Wassup
the obese woman strike was hilarious
a) getting into the hobby
b) searching for belonging anywhere inside a fictional "community". there is no "community".
c) spending money on RC hardware you never got to fly, instead of sims that just... worked
Those would be my top 3. If I had to do it over again, a cheap controller and sims, and that's it. Sink the money saved on RC into 4090 GPU or VR headset instead.
I have been immersed in the "fictional" Hobby for the last 10+ years.... I love tech... but NOT to the point that it separates me from The Real World and Real People... I feel sorry for you, but guess what... You are your own worst enemy....
@@old_coastie Don't feel sorry for me, I have way more fun than you do LOL :-) I never break a model or have to pull out my credit card to repair it. I fly every day, flying is just a double click away. Time to upgrade your play to 2023!
RC is an obsolete way to fly, and when it's not, it's used for k1lling people in Russia and Ukraine...
I got out of the RC hobby because all of the mean and nasty boys in it. On the computer you can fly all you want without getting the controller taken from you or told what to do, or patronized like a second class citizen or talked trash about behind your back when you weren't around. All the girls I know fly that use to fly kwads in the early days fly the sim instead now.
@@old_coastie I think she said the community is fictional, not the hobby. She's right about that... you got to watch your stuff at FPV events lest it grow legs and walk off, if you know what I mean. BubbyFPV is one widely known for his sticky fingers.
An old wing guy in the hobby patronizingly talking down to a girl in the hobby. Not just any girl, but like THE GIRL. Choppergirl is a legend.
Who would of thought? And they wonder why their AMA clubs are sausage fests LOL
Am i the only one that paused the video to take a second look at that evo wing stick plane with flying wires atrocity lol
A fictional character doesn't have any form of control over you or your machine (airplane).
Thumbs down
😂
Ha, so even the insurance from AMA is crummy, besides AMA roll-over for regulators lobbying. So what good is the membership fee for?
