If you guys had been in that "Flight of the Phoenix" movie, they would have never made it home safely. But morale would have been higher. Great work! Keep it coming!
Imagine what a showstopper it would be if both halves were joined together in some way, then flip a switch on the transmitter then both halves separate in flight one goes left the other goes right and both carry on flying, just imagine the shock and the oohs and ah's of a crowed of people when they separate.
Imagine the shock when you turn on the news to see 3 dead and many injured because a plane separated in half and crashed into a crowed of Ooing people…
Build a Bi-Plane out of a mono-plane kit and separate in flight the smaller of the 2 wings. The CG will probably need moving, in flight, which would be the easy part, and the plane should continue to fly, and land safely with probably some additional speed. This is all theory, but I am a retired Engineer, and a real pilot from 1978. Good Luck! Interesting problem!
I know this is probably impossible in practice, but imagine putting really strong magnets on the missing halves of the planes and making them re-connect mid flight
Another fun video😂 My Twimber split into many halves when the elevator servo horn snapped. How about an electromagnetic coupling to allow the Twim and the Ber to separate and then rejoin in flight??? 🤓🤣
This channels content is the funniest and maybe the most interest of it's kind since you guys took the leash off of it. Would like to see it go up as one aircraft inly to separate then kamakzi both. Cheers fellars love ya work👏👏👍
Thank you SO MUCH for providing an HONEST review. I was seriously considering this plane as the next addition to my hangar. I've only met one person who has one, and they fly like old people drive, barely moving, so of course he loves it. I'll be passing on this plane, thanks to your detailed review. Thanks again!
Hmmmm..........Now I wonder if an old kit I have that is half built will fly? You guys are on the edge, of what I am not sure, but on the edge. Keep it up, can't wait for the next one.
Hey, i designed a 3d printed system that can hold those two halves very well and release them in flight. and it's almost weightless. you should try it.
A guy I used to fly with tried this years ago and got it working pretty well. He had the two planes joined with some super strong magnets so they could take off as one, split, then rejoin for landing(if both pilots could fly close and steady enough lol)
Haha awesome, so did they sell, I see the listing says sold now , if not I definitely vote try to re attach them dual control take off then split in air somehow
That is awesome! I'm truly impressed you got it er them to fly at all. I like the Idea of putting them together and then separating them in midair. I'd also like to see you add a random section of wing (from some crashed plane or other project) in between the two haves P38 style. If that's not strange enough for you, put the two halves back together wing tip to wingtip. I think I'd remove the about 6's from both wing tips.
A rough landing with my control line Sig Banshee damaged the right (outboard) wing. Thought I fixed it with some Hot Stuff. A flight or two later, pulling out of a vertical 8, the wing departed. The plane stayed in the air! But, some control line speed planes were asymmetrical, having only the inboard wing.
This video was so great I didn't watch it in 2x speed. 🤣 I'd like to see this attached together by something like a few servos. See you guys take off and fly a few laps with dual pilot cooperation and then separate mid-air. I don't see it going well which is the point and our entertainment. Might not be a good idea. That video might be too short. 😄
This is maybe your funniest video yet! You should glue them back together and revisit the "two pilots one plane" idea you did when you taped the two cubs together. Great content and great flying! 😁
Can we conclude that? 1. Half a Twinber results in exponential worse control 2. Half a Twinber results in exponential more fun 3. Two half Twinbers flying in formation ì😊😊s AWESOME¹⁰
Loved this one. Awesome you guys got them to fly!! Definitely need a few more flights then maybe test their durability with a full throttle dive into the ground 😂
Ive been waiting on this video!! ever since he showed the lil sneak peak of the half timber while back i looked thru all the videos thinking maybe i missed it or maybe tailheavy gave up on the half plane idea or maybe it just didnt fly. My twin timber is also in two pieces just not perfectly down the center lmao
Don't know what you should do with the remaining halves but keep that attitude up! Screw the system, screw the concepts of traditional aerodynamics and keep the chimeras coming - whenever you feel the need!
in the time span it took me to watch this video 9:57 it started with 20 views. when i was done it was at 650.......how are 525 people watching this faster then minutes move..... it is now 700 and only took me 10 seconds to type this out
Now we are getting back to the content that made you guys famous. Frankenstein builds! Here is the next challenge for you guys. Build a Twin Habu jet by fusing the wings together. It could be side by side like the twin mustang or top and bottom like a biplane. 2 planes must use one receiver and one battery to control both planes. And GO....
So how would it fly if the outboard landing gear was removed? I suspect the weight of that gear had something to do with lateral balance of the airframe.
Idk, it flies better than a lot of those tail-heavy planes we see waffling around on UA-cam, and that makes me wonder how it would fly if you put back half of the steel nose blob.
very yes must add locking servo to join them fly normal and separate them mid air just before emanate impact flying full speed at your hovering camera drone ... please ... thank you
The hype was so high on this video and it did a great justice. Great editting, great script and amazing videography. @Tail heavy Productions Heart this video if you're gonna buy another twimber or if you like toy airplanes =)
The problem with your asymmetrical aircraft is that the moment of inertia is highly coupled. That Ixy term inherently couples your roll and pitch responses which makes it extremely unintuitive to fly, even if it’s “stable” in the traditional sense.
this'd make for an interesting challenge video thingy saw a plane in half give each half to a builder person within a time limit, make it work fly eachother's planes, see who did better
Best thing I've seen on UA-cam this week! Keep it as an heirloom or donate it to an aircraft museum and it'd make you lot more famous than you already are.
I would be stoked to see the two halves mated and separate in flight. Both landing on their own. Sick idea
You stole my idea.
Agreed!
Yeah like with magnets so it locks on
Like a 007 movie.😊
we did it in 2021 :ua-cam.com/video/SvWCEdgOxiM/v-deo.html

Imagine the shock of having a crowd of people available to ooh and ah...
Imagine the shock when you turn on the news to see 3 dead and many injured because a plane separated in half and crashed into a crowed of Ooing people…

I've been waiting for more than a week for this one.
'Starving children in Africa could have eaten it' .....😂
Mam I need a airplane
I know this is probably impossible in practice, but imagine putting really strong magnets on the missing halves of the planes and making them re-connect mid flight
no way i was about to comment that
the description of how this thing flies is on point
Great commentary as usual! Clever and funny!
Another fun video😂 My Twimber split into many halves when the elevator servo horn snapped. How about an electromagnetic coupling to allow the Twim and the Ber to separate and then rejoin in flight??? 🤓🤣
Blohm and Voss would be proud of you guys.

Love it!! Thanks for delivering fun and laughs at the expense of your suffering & frustrations!! You Guys are awesome!! ✌
Join the wings together with the bodies on each side of the wing.... like a reverse twin turbo?
Thank you SO MUCH for providing an HONEST review. I was seriously considering this plane as the next addition to my hangar. Loved it!! hahah lot's of good one liners in here. Great engineering TH!
I'm very impressed that they put in the hard work to finish this project - and it actually worked.
I think it must evolve into a good old Trimotor!
Hmmmm..........Now I wonder if an old kit I have that is half built will fly? You guys are on the edge, of what I am not sure, but on the edge. Keep it up, can't wait for the next one.
So nice to have you guys and thnx to Jon(TwoBrothers) for recommending this channel!
5:13 that’s the face that reads: I’ve done good things or, this gonna be a good internet meme.
Hey, i designed a 3d printed system that can hold those two halves very well and release them in flight. and it's almost weightless. you should try it.
Electromagnets, anyone?
A guy I used to fly with tried this years ago and got it working pretty well. He had the two planes joined with some super strong magnets so they could take off as one, split, then rejoin for landing(if both pilots could fly close and steady enough lol)
You guys should make a bush flying plank
This is what happens when you cast dark necromantic rituals over a pile of polystyrene trash.
The most impressive thing in this video is at 58 seconds you somehow got a grinder to make sparks fly out of them Styrofoam plain my head hurts
I'm not into RC or anything to do with it. I love this channel for the script and pisstake. Cracks me up. 😆
You could put a few weak magnets on them and a servo to push them apart in the air. That would be fun
Such a fun video! Keep them coming!
These two flew so well that I am embarrassed about the stuff I build that doesn't fly.
Haha awesome, so did they sell, I see the listing says sold now , if not I definitely vote try to re attach them dual control take off then split in air somehow
Hands down the BEST video ever and wit jokes are sublime
Wow..I'm glade I watched your video..
My next plane I was going to buy was the Turbo Timber Twin....NOT NOW...
That is awesome! I'm truly impressed you got it er them to fly at all.

I felt like you were getting somewhere with flying both of them in formation. Bring the halves a little closer and it's back to one airplane!
I have no idea how I got here, but the whole vid was incredibly rad.
1:47 😂
This video was so great I didn't watch it in 2x speed. 🤣

thats a great video man, love it
The x files music with the t28 wing and gear was my favorite part 😂
Noooooo!! My beloved twinber!! Im kidding lol, great video.
This is maybe your funniest video yet! You should glue them back together and revisit the "two pilots one plane" idea you did when you taped the two cubs together.
Great content and great flying! 😁

The gravitational pull of Uranus!!!! Hilarious!
You should use magnets and stick them together for takeoff and then split in flight!
Nice addition of the HQ prop btw
Loved this one. Awesome you guys got them to fly!! Definitely need a few more flights then maybe test their durability with a full throttle dive into the ground 😂

I wonder if you could hover with the tail facing upwards using reverse thrust?
Don't know what you should do with the remaining halves but keep that attitude up!

Fly outside the box! 📦✈
You and Cody have way too much fun 🤣 super enjoyable watch
I've got a delta wing that has been crashed and rebuilt so many times, amazed it's still symmetrical 🤣🤣🤣

"I bet it's another Timber, a Timber with 4 motors, a Timber with 8 EDFs"
The Timber:
A challenging docking manoeuvre that would be.
THIS is a straight 'FYou' to Horror-izon sloppy if I've seen it!!!!
😂😂😂👍😂👍👍👍
"dumbass technology" had me dying
When they are airborne, you can almost hear the halves whispering: "kill me".
That‘s so Cool😂😂😂 love from Germany

Separate in mid air!😂
*magnets. Connect them in flight.
That was a fun project!
lets now try putting both half's together with Velcro, taking off from the ground and then splitting them apart in the air while in flight...lol

So how would it fly if the outboard landing gear was removed? I suspect the weight of that gear had something to do with lateral balance of the airframe.
If the weight of the gear and battery weren’t at the wingtip there’d be massive problems
Ahh super trooper references 😅
WEE WAAANT GAAAASSEEERRRRSSSSSSS⛽️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wauw. Two advanced trainers 😅
PS. Your script writing is on par with your flying. Both are perfection of a skill.
Good bye to rolling moment
Great experiment. But that’s a waste of time doing a mitosis on a bad plane 😂
Well done
Definitely didnt think they would fly that good. ha
Can ya get'em to tow two or more gliders off the deck with some mid-wing expanded re-join? Or do some glider or mailbag snatch up mid-hook wench line?
Idk, it flies better than a lot of those tail-heavy planes we see waffling around on UA-cam, and that makes me wonder how it would fly if you put back half of the steel nose blob.
very yes must add locking servo to join them fly normal and separate them mid air just before emanate impact flying full speed at your hovering camera drone ... please ... thank you
I saw this on discord thanks for the video
You guys are the best and everything you said in this video ,is 100% real (everithing from the begining)
you should try putting a flight controller in it and look if it can make it fly morr like a normal plane
A wheel you can barely notice ? where did you put it ?
Yes! separation I'm mid air!
I say Join them wingtip to wingtip like the stratolaunch or add la few carbon tubes between the fuselages and try to make it fly
How about a servo system to hook both half’s together. Then take off and fire the servo to separate them that would be a show!!
Put magnets on each half and join them in the air. 👀 let them heal and be one again, the perfect Timber.
The hype was so high on this video and it did a great justice. Great editting, great script and amazing videography. @Tail heavy Productions Heart this video if you're gonna buy another twimber or if you like toy airplanes =)
kool video enjoyed it
Yes seperate in flight🥳
I am crying I'm laughing so hard about the descriptions once you guys got it flying. Aaaaand rewind..
Are you the one selling these two halves here in NH?
Too funny :-) and your voice-over script is excellent as always!
Classic!
The problem with your asymmetrical aircraft is that the moment of inertia is highly coupled. That Ixy term inherently couples your roll and pitch responses which makes it extremely unintuitive to fly, even if it’s “stable” in the traditional sense.
All of the rc crack heads coming back for their fix 😂😭✌🏼 HAHAHAH
this'd make for an interesting challenge video thingy
saw a plane in half
give each half to a builder person
within a time limit, make it work
fly eachother's planes, see who did better
Magnets on each side and try to join them midair
Best thing I've seen on UA-cam this week! Keep it as an heirloom or donate it to an aircraft museum and it'd make you lot more famous than you already are.
AWESOME.
$20 if you cut a quadcopter in half and make it fly.
Put magnets on each half and try to reconnect in flight. Do it! Please!
Awesome!-
