My wife has drove a Lexus SUV for 15 years. Our neighbor worked at the local LR dealership and constantly was after me to trade for one. I finally told him I would come and look at one. We drove a Velar and on the test drive it lost power and we had to be towed back to the dealership.😂🙈 He insisted that this never happens but we ended up trading our 2015 RX for a 2021 RX Hybrid. No regrets there but we do have our eye on the new GX or Land Cruiser!
@@will4417 a range rover with a direct injection inline 6 mild hybrid, supercharger and turbo charger, yes it is. its a land rover after all. but who cares if you got deep pockets just have henderson your chauffer take it to the shop for you. range rover the only vehicle that's unreliable while under warranty 🤣
Too much $$$ for cheap plastics and low grade looking interior. The car on the outside is beautiful. Just can’t deal with reliability issues. Good review
that new infotainment screen is the biggest downgrade ever!! the old one had such unique look with the dials in the screen. This looks like a cheap cost cutting glued on tablet. what a let down
I absolutely love the exterior looks of this vehicle. The interior is OK, but controlling everything with one screen is a terrible inconvenience. And as we know, everything else regarding Range Rover vehicles is abysmal.
They ruined the interior imo that second screen with physical dials definitely should’ve stayed because now that entire area looks like an afterthought
Im curious. I love the evoque, is this not the same exact vehicle? It looks almost identitical. I suppose it does seem a big larger maybe? Evoque by far is the ONLY SUV i would ever enjoy owning. I hate suv's w a passion
The Evoque is front wheel drive, engine sits differently, and is a smaller vehicle. The Evogue just started the new design trend(when it was introducedl) for Land Rover when it was released. Which is why the styling looms all very "family".
It’s funny how he did not mention anything about the brands outstanding reliability lol I guess he did not want to piss them off. Made the mistake of buying one once and will never do it again.
Don’t get the 4 cylinder I had a 2020 model in red with the blackout trim looked phenomenal got plenty of looks and compliments back when it was less common BUT…. It was SLOWWWWW.
Unless you're in love with the shape of this thing, I don't understand why anyone would buy this. Land Rover products are famous for being off road capable ( not the Evoque) and luxurious inside. This Velar is neither! I think I'd but pretty much any other choice over this.
A handsome but flawed car. For that price point it can’t have all the issues pointed out in the video. Plus, there is always relatability issues with JLR products, that I experienced myself having owned two Jags and one Landrover
When I think of Land Rover, I think of maintenance costs. It is nice looking though. Tbh I really don’t like Apple CarPlay. It’s so generic and bland looking compared to each car’s design theme. Regarding the placement of the infotainment screen, it’s unfortunate that so many interior design is to place a major visual element so far below the eye line of driving. Imo this makes you prone to distraction and not seeing a hazard.
I currently am leasing one. It’s ok, nothing to sing home about. Would I lease it again No. There’s just a lot better options out there. I came from Audi and a lot inside the Velar honestly just seems cheap. Guess they put all the money in the Sport and up trims. It’s too bad to because I absolutely love the outer design of the Velar if only the interior matched.
Endless money pits as they age , their transmission fail prematurely and have been notorious for it . Never purchase these foreign vehicles , lease it , get it out your system and then get rid of it when the contract expires because they are not worth the hassle at mechanic shops
Redline Reviews : obviously Rover manufacturer is paying all the outlets all over the world to present these vehicles as normal vehicles with prestige tone....when in reality Range Rovers are one of the top 5 MOST UNRELIABLE cars in the world and one of the top 10 MOST POORLY BUILT cars in the world.
not having that second screen for the climate control is a huge downgrade on the interior, not worth the extra savings it provides, holy cow what a blunder
Looks plain Jane inside the interior of these. One big infotainment tablet screen for everything. No buttons. Looks like a Tesla. 2021 Model looks 100x better
You must be aware of it yourself if you've made this comment in anticipation of the reliability comments lol though the reliability stuff isn't exactly new anyways
Unreliable, slow and with cheap plastic inside that you pay expensive. Normal for an Indian car. Wife had velar and stayed more in service than at our garage. I had a Range Rover sport at some point which went well to service more often than I was going to work . Never again. Same money get a genesis Audi bmw Mercedes

I would definitely check out the 2024 GX. That’s the vehicle I have my eyes set on.
Yeah, that didn’t happen but cool story.
Liar
That’s INSANE
Just see if it gets better now that they got bought by Hyundai.
Looks great ! Make sure you have AAA towing
lol those are still as unreliable as they used to be???
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hahaha 😂😂
55k miles on mine and no issues. And AAA is a scam, it’s Cheaper through your insurance…showing your intelligence.
Hate theyre moving away from hard buttons. I like a touchscreen, but only in appropriate situations
Cost cutting is apparent. Definitively a step backwards.
Interesting that the side view mirrors don't go in very far, not far enough to even bother retracting them.
honestly liked the design of the center stack of the previous model it looked classy with the dials. This looks like a stuck on ipad.
the new interior is an absolute joke. cheap cost cutting glued on tablet
Too much $$$ for cheap plastics and low grade looking interior. The car on the outside is beautiful. Just can’t deal with reliability issues. Good review
Beautiful exterior. The interior of my 2023 KIA Sorrento looks much nicer. JLR needs to make the interior match the price.
Save 15k and get the Genesis G70. Just as luxurious with a better warranty 😊
There’s nothing like the review that you did on the 2020 Velar V8. That was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

As a subscriber since day1, I love your professional review & superior quality with no B/S. All the best, Evan LKatz
Beautiful designs, but why can't they make their products consistently reliable?
Looks like it'll depreciate faster than it can get to the mechanic
I absolutely love the exterior looks of this vehicle. The interior is OK, but controlling everything with one screen is a terrible inconvenience. And as we know, everything else regarding Range Rover vehicles is abysmal.
Nice SUV, I’ll never be able to afford it with my 55k salary. 😂
buy used half off lol
@@Kimbrough87 - nah I’m good, satisfied with my Volkswagen now.

One of my favorite looking suv
LR should really team up with another company and work on their dependability
Interesting you said X3 and GLE. I always thought GLC and X3 were competitors. And it was X5 vs GLE
I think he meant GLC.
Im curious. I love the evoque, is this not the same exact vehicle? It looks almost identitical. I suppose it does seem a big larger maybe? Evoque by far is the ONLY SUV i would ever enjoy owning. I hate suv's w a passion
Oh no, this is substantially larger than the Evoque.

Nice, I believe it comes with the free loaners for the first 3 years.
1:31 I was about to say that regarding the 5.0L S/C V8 but there was my answer but the V8 was it a one year only for it or what
Thumbs up for the reviewer only not this expensive garbage can.
It’s funny how he did not mention anything about the brands outstanding reliability lol I guess he did not want to piss them off. Made the mistake of buying one once and will never do it again.
Hopefully soon, I will be able to afford this.

For obvious reasons, I think Naveen must own a towing company. 😂
The rear looks like the Honda Prelude 😱
Range Rover whips!👍🏿👊🏾👊🏻
Damn that jawn looks good 👍🏾
I was not expecting hard touch plastic bits on a car in that category.
The dash isn’t hard touch plastic as he’s claiming. It’s like a squishy material that looks like a wet suit, but it’s not plastic.
A handsome but flawed car. For that price point it can’t have all the issues pointed out in the video. Plus, there is always relatability issues with JLR products, that I experienced myself having owned two Jags and one Landrover
Good looking vehicle would never own it because it would always be getting towed POS unfortunately
Damn was really wondering how u would like the ride with air suspension
If only toyota hired Land Rovers Designers!
If only Toyota hired a designer period.

I love to get a Velar, but I'm afraid to deal with all the expensive issues that Range Rover vehicles are known for
Awww a miss my range 😢
Porsche macaan does seem like a better option.
No physical climate knobs 💀💀💀
Looks like a updated and more upscale version of a Kia 😂
😂😂😂
Idc it’s unreliable I’ll pick it over the competition the GV80 might win me over slightly tho.
No way, not happening! No chance I'm ever paying $80k for this sloppy and inferior product.

Ya might wanna talk to Naveen about that. 😅 His is an alternate reality.
Lost me at digital HVAC controls.
Uninspiring interior, like so many new cars these days.
True. The original model had a nicer interior. I really liked the climate control knobs.
@@n7y8c7 I do too. And they're quicker, and I'd submit, even safer.
@@DRayL_Exactly! Definitely safer because you're not taking your eyes off the road 🛣️
Kinda looks cheap tbh. And dated
🔥🔥🔥
Given that there are much more reliable Japanese options in this segment, why buy a Tata Rover? Naveen? 🙄
Losing that second screen was an idiotic decision.
Looks clean yes, but seems like a lot of wasted real estate especially around the shifter
5-star styling - 1 star reliability. Lol
Interior looks basic
Very
