    Great to see you doing your own service , at least you know it's all done with the correct items and makes.

      Hi Joseph, thank you for the positive comment. 😊 I totally agree with you, and this is the reason why I do all of the maintenance and repair jobs on our L322. If you have a look on the channel, we have a lot of videos of working on this car. It's something we 100% enjoy doing, especially as someone with no mechanical background experience.

    I would recommend you dip your finger in oil and rub a little around the oil filter case ‘O’ ring before fitting it. Just to make sure it seals wet not dry.

      Hi Morris, welcome to our channel! 👋🏻 Yes, that's right, I agree with you 💯, I actually did it off camera. So all good! 😊

    I'm doing this tomorrow - your video has been really helpful in pre-warning me about where the plugs are, as well as where the oil tries to go when you drain it! Thanks for putting the video together, as well as leaving your 'mistakes' in it as it's good to see others learning from their mistakes and sharing tips and tricks so we don't make the same mistakes!
    Also just bought the Diesel Filter removal tool (well, oil filter removal tool) for £6 off Amazon, Fingers crossed! Thanks again.

      Hi, welcome to our channel! 😁 I'm very glad you found this video helpful! 👍🏻 I have made other videos as well (if you check the description of this video, you can find the links to the Service Series Playlist and the individual videos) - please check them out because they're much more detailed on the diesel filter and the air filter 👍🏻 On this video, it looked like the diesel filter and the air filter were easy to replace, but actually it is a little bit fiddly - so make sure you allow extra time to do them, and don't stress about them because they're in a very tight area, so take your time when doing them. They may be a bit stubborn to take out and put back in, but obviously, it can be done. Just take your time and have patience with them. Good luck! Please let me know how it goes once you've completed the service! 😊

      All went without hitch friend, no spilled oil, nothing fell off the car or blew up. The filter grab tool you used arrived the day before I did the service and worked perfectly. Much appreciated!@@lifeasusual

    What's that tool you used for the fuel filter any links to it

      @lifeasusual  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi John, I didn't buy it from Amazon, but this is the link for an equivalent style on Amazon but I haven't tested it, just have a look at the reviews before buying. Hope this helps! 😊 amzn.to/3My74Sv

    I heard that putting an extra fuel/water separator before diesel filter makes 20% fuel economy, smooth engine run and keeps clean the fuel system. These seperators commonly used for expensive boat, yatch engines at marine industry. We want to see the real results for Range Rover :)

      Hi Yilmaz, welcome to our channel! 😊 To be honest with you, our engine, the 3.6 TDV8, has a really great MPG, so I'd be really surprised if anyone can get more economy out of it. But for a V8 it's very good! 👍🏻

    Good Job Fahad, so many people don't bother with the turbo plug and then wonder why the turbo's blow up. Very important to remove/desludge that bit. Shame Landrover did such a crap job at designing it to be so difficult to get at

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  8 місяців тому

      Hi Ant, thank you! 😊 I would like to ask you, if you don't mind - not much oil came out as you can see from the video... is that normal? Should I be expecting more oil to come out from the turbo plug area, or do I have an issue here? I would estimate that about 200 ml came out...

    • @antking8847
      @antking8847 8 місяців тому +2

      yes - not much comes out but it is a dump for the turbos so important to do. Just had a nightmare response to mine going in to tidy up following my attempt at replacing the passenger cam cover - both turbos being replaced as this was the cause of the original problem! Hey ho hopefully end up with a good car once sorted!

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  8 місяців тому

      If you think about it, now you can get at least another 80k - 100k miles on the new turbos! So at least another 5 years for the car 👍🏻 Some people say up to 150k miles. Did you go for Land Rover turbos or another brand?

    • @antking8847
      @antking8847 8 місяців тому +1

      don't know to be honest, my garage chap is sorting but he's a great, honest sort so I don't think he'll do me over. In all honesty, the car will owe me £12k once sorted but I love it and want to keep it forever so 1. I don't care and 2. £12k on another Range Rover wouldn't necessarily avoid any future nightmares. Mine's only done 100k so I think I can now look after it properly and look forward to a good few years joyful motoring.

    Why did you get genuine Land Rover filters but Halfords oil? You may as well got Land Rover oil. Or just bought cheap filters for the cheap oil

      Hi Richard, welcome to the channel! 😊Land Rover don't do oil, and this is the link to the video in which I explain why I'm actually using Halfords oil; I hope this helps: ua-cam.com/video/i6_1CH_dUOg/v-deo.htmlsi=PUU14UfOrcXltUCA

    Hi Fahad
    I noticed you didn’t touch the gear box oil
    I asked my mechanic to change the gear oil but he told me not to do that since as per his experience many customers did that and they start facing issues with the gear
    My L322 is 2011 5.0 V8 petrol 139k km
    Please advise

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi Qusai, welcome to our channel! 😊 The gear box oil is not part of the major service, it has its own service routine.👍🏻 For your make and model, its best to check your car manual, but if you're still not sure, you can call Land Rover and they will tell you when your gear box oil service is due. I hope this helps! 😁

      For the 3.6 it's recommended to follow the workshop manual by removing the plugs 👍🏻
