Excited for a Pickpocket Only run where you kill every enemy by luring them into water and reverse-pickpocketing overencumberingly heavy armor into their inventory
Yeah if only. Skyrim was the first game to allow that.
@@Sletchman Reminded me of a modded skyrim playthrough i did.
might have been ordinator, but a perk gave me a coin, enemies holding the coin takes 2 or 3 times damage.
in the pirate cove section of the thieves guild quest i lacked the damage or health to take the enemies on as a sneaky dagger assassin, so i had to pickpocket the coin into every enemy then backstab them.
it was fun, got my neurons firing trying to move enemies to facilitate this.
@@pyromasteralex Its ordinator yeah its called Death's Emperor ordinator really does have some amazing perks but is so hit or miss i find

(from a forum thread) I did definitely use a mage's hood enchanted with constant fire damage on self to kill people in Oblivion. What's great is that most people don't have hoods and will gladly and immediately wear one. (if they don't, reverse pickpocket the hood onto them and wait for them to go to sleep, they usually put it on before sleeping or after waking up. wake them up several times if needed.)
Good thing you quoted the line about restoration right at the start. Otherwise half the comments would insist that restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic
He didn't let anyone tell him otherwise
I quoted the line in my head before I clicked the video
I was in the process of quoting her when I clicked the video, couldn't have been more perfect
I'd consider a healer using a potion the same as a chef eating takeout, it's having someone else do a worse job for you for convenience.
And yeah, I order takeout all the time, food for other people must be perfect and constructed with love and care, food for me just needs to go down the face pipe.
And preferably not the air one, which is inconveniently placed right next to the face one.
I feel the same way. unfortunately, the night shift at harbor freight gets out just as Mcdonalds is closing the lobby, and i don't have a fucking vehicle.
@@frogtank4407walk through my man, I’ve been there, had to do it a couple times at Taco Bell 💀
When asked, a lot of celebrity chefs say that their favorite meal is anything they don't have to prepare themselves. Guess when it's your occupation you don't want to do it for leisure.
Exactly. I've been a cook my whole adult life, and my skills aren't lacking, but I don't think I've made above basic level rice or microwavable food for myself for like 10 years lol. For other people, I'll craft them an experience, for me I will eat dog food 😂
I remember doing a Mages Guild run similar to this, focusing on "non-offensive" skills like Restoration, Alteration, and Mysticism. When I did the quest to get the magic staff, I ended up picking Paralysis as the effect, and after that the game was basically over. As long as I had soul gems (or Varla Stones, more likely), I just had to keep applying the paralyze and then swoop in to slurp the HP away.
In hindsight, the fact that Absorb Health is in Restoration in this game is kinda funny. My intention with that playthrough was to be a goodie two-shoes Healer type of character, but Paralysis+Absorb feels more like a vampire than actual vampirism does.
you unironically did some of the most evil stuff ive seen someone perform in this game, imagine meeting a cleric and they completely paralyze you then proceed to literally suck your life force away as you agonizingly die a slow death.
i think Absorb Health was a Mysticism spell in Morrowind. And those spells just outright don't exist in Skyrim, Restoration has 3 effects in the base game and Nords don't believe in Mysticism
The mudcrab story you made up felt like something that could genuinely be a bit of lore they could've hidden somewhere in a random book or sidequest!
Ikr I completely believed him until he said he made it all up
These jokes are actually based on real life. The mudcrab joke I'm fuzzy on, but I believe is based on the real life phenomenon of using predators to hunt pests, only for the predators to escape and breed and become part of, or sometimes destroy, an entire eco system. There's another joke he tells about rich people buying baby goblins, only to release them into the wild when they grow up and stop being cute, which is based on a real life joke of the exact same nature explaining how alligators end up in sewers.
28:13 To answer the question about the invisibility potions, it's a 50/50!
The Feydnaz are a special leveled dremora type that only spawn in the great gate for Defense of Bruma. One of their inventory items is "MQ14DremoraInvisPotion", a leveled list with only a single item: a Potion of Invisibility. HOWEVER, the leveled list itself has a 50% chance of rolling "none" for its item, leaving it a 50% drop rate.
I think the lore behind oblivion crisis is that dawn cultists believe that Mundus is the daedric realm of Lorkhan, and the rest of the Aedra killed him and took it for themselves (which you know, the last part is kinda true according to most mythologies of Elder Schools). So their idea is to help Dagon, prince of liberation and revolution, to invade Mundus and restore Lorkhan as the rightful ruler. I don't think it's communicated all that well in the game though.
Either way, mythic dawn do not think that Mundus is part of Dagon's realm, at least not from what I know.
Also, dremora aren't exclusive to Dagon's realm, and and neither other types of lesser daedra. A type of daedra can be more common in a certain prince's domain, but they are very rarely exclusive. From what I understand, most lesser daedra aren't really creations of the princes, they are just less powerful, less influential daedric spirits. If they so choose, they can probably travel between different realms of oblivion, serving the princes as people serve rulers of countries. It's actually a bit strange that dremora are so common in Dagon's realm, as they are supposed to like order and hierarchies a lot, and as I already said, Dagon is a prince of revolution, so I wouldn't think it would jive with strict social order of dremora.
...it's as if Bethesda wanted to have regular demon-like enemies in oblivion gates, so they just used dremora without a second thought. As a wise man once said, probably a game mechanic.
Also, finally some main screen content.
I guess it depends how you feel about the whole Leaper Demon King becoming Dagon.
@@JustBackgroundNoise I thought Dagon was created by the whatsamacallit, the subordinates of Magnus? To defeat the underwater scorpion people and whatnot? I'll look up Leaping Demon King, haven't heard about that.

@@Marcara081 ...so that dude in the cage talking about sigil key was a projection of Dagon after all...
You mentioning Martin opening the gate is kinda funny. I do wish they touched more on Martin's implied past as a warlock.
Yeah he gets like one or two throw away lines about it then like that is supposed to explain everything

@@Marcara081 Why would that encourage him to abandon sorcery and become a priest who's probably celibate?

To answer about contractors using cheap stuff around our houses: typically no, we might McGuyver something up for an emergency, but typically you find a brand you like for one reason or another and you use that, your house or customers.
Depends on the contractor

Funny thing I use to do as a kid. I'd run around picking up all the weapons in the beginning areas even the daggers bows and all arrows etc. I'd first use the rats at the beginning to level my light armor and heavy armor and then would kill everything and make it to the part where just right outside the room where the emporer dies. They continously come at you. On my old 360 I'd have so many cultists bodies stacked up from killing them that my 360 would be lagging. I'd go and create my class with the max sneak I got from the beginning and armor and weapons skills where higher. I thought I was badass as a kid being level 21 or 22 at the start of the game whenever you started.
...only to find out that Oblivion is x100 times easier at lvl 1 because of Bethesda 😂

No see thats the beautiful part, when winter time rolls around the goblins will simply freeze to death!
But what will happen to Chirpy Boy and Bart Jr?
I was honestly expecting that was the payoff he was working towards.
On the topic of zombies being tanky, they're extra trollish for mages because they have 30% magic resist for some reason. That makes their 60% weakness to fire have less bite than you'd expect. And random trivia about the deranged zombies in the Skingrad recommendation quest; they're "clean", as in they can't give you diseases.
The guard at the end. LOL
"He's right behind me isn't he? Guess I'll die."
5:26 Mehrunes Dagon's sphere is Destruction, ambition, revolution, change and whatnot; but do consider his sphere also includes hope. So what better representation of his sphere then a violent blighted chaotic battlefield with the occasional boon of healing/aid to keep you and the fight going? Even for mortals who's souls wind up ensnared there.
That is a wonderful theory

@@JustBackgroundNoise His bounty was probably above one. The game doesn't arrest NPC's outside of scripted events. So it just makes them hostile. You would need to use a command to set his bounty to zero. There are several that do that, but only one of them work and I don't remember which one of the top of my head.
It was an ambush by mythic dawn cultists to attempt to take the life of the Countess. They knew the Great Gate wouldn't stand a chance against a fully powered and buffed Burd, so they attempted to kill him as well when his guard was down.

TDLR; I buy whatever is most cost-effective and will adequately accomplish the job.
Carpenter, handyman, blacksmith here; in regards to your materials question, I use whatever will be best suited to the task at hand. If the "cheap generic" thing i need is pretty much identical to the expensive one, I'll use the more cost-effective option. There are a few areas where I personally don't skimp and will shell out for higher quality, like plumbing and electrical components. Screws too... I'll pay top dollar for good screws. I also try to repurpose things when I can, like turning an old ladder that can't ladder anymore into a storage rack.

@@chrismanuel9768 if you were right, the term "quarter-elf" wouldn't exist.
No but I actually think that assassinating the Emperor was the most important operation for the Mythic Dawn. Think about it: the Daedric Lord of Revolution (and Desctruction and Change) wouldn't be appeased by killing some no-name argonians for a few years. His whole thing is breaking the established order, so if you're going to make sacrifices to him, you'd want to sacrifice nobles, lords, dukes, kings. Emperors. The killing of the Emperor and his heirs WAS the ritual that they NEEDED to complete to empower and embolden Dagon, and gain his favor and protection for themselves.
That's why they had all that manpower and organization to overwhelm his bodyguards on their own escape route, but are so ineffective for the rest of the main quest. They spent all their resources, they blew their load, and after finding out about Martin they're basically just trying to do damage control while still in the refractory period.
For future runs like this I'd add mercantile and speechcraft to the "allowed extra skills" list, as long as they don't get cheesed or exploited. That way you can, well, function.
There is something about your dry nonchalant humor that has me coming back to your videos again and again. I leave youtube on the TV for background noise, and your videos will often autoplay.
Love your videos Dude, they are really really good background noise, there is no 'just' about it. Keep it up.
A playstyle I keep going back to in Skyrim is Restoration Only. Of course, this is only really feasible due to the Ordinator mod adding things like "Healing spells damage hostile targets" and "You can spew disease clouds because technically _any_ spell relating to disease/poison is Restoration magic"
Yeah, that's an odd one. Poison rune is the only restoration spell which can damage living targets in Skyrim. Why is it restoration? Who knows. For undead, there are the sun spells you get from the Dawnguard.
@@TheMoonRover There is also Bane of the Undead in the base game.
nice thing about spell scrolls is that using them unlocks that kind of spell for spell creation without having to learn it first, I notice a lot of people overlook that and it might have came in handy on this kind of run!

To your question to tradesmen about products of various quality; It literally depends on what it is. If it is something I am putting in a wall, covering up? Best I can get, made the best I can. I want it to last as long as possible. If its something that wont cause damage, wont make a mess, and is temporary, lower quality is fine until it can be taken care of properly.
If I ever work in someone elses home, I give them the options and my opinion and let them make the decisions.
To answer the question about using cheap products if you're skilled at a trade, yes. Absolutely. I am a mechanic that has a lot backing up my skills but may favorite car I've ever owned was a $25 2002 Subaru Outback with over 300k miles, 3 connected struts, a multitude of leaks patched with layers upon layers of J.B. 12:10 The Bravil mages guild quest is pretty cool, because Varon Vamori does have a "silver tongue" and the ability to teach speechcraft, whereas the illusion magic focused guild raises peoples disposition via the magical method. Ardaline is naturally a shy and anxious girl which is why she joined the guild, and Varon stole her charm staff out of spite that his method won't work on her and make her return his affections. He's set up as someone more used to having success with girls and unable to accept when he doesn't than a "nice guy" type. Either way, excellent dynamic for this particular school of magic.

This was a fun video, but I think it would also be fun to see a less stringent take on challenges like these. If you could actually get gold, you could use Fortify Health to deal with no armor, use Absorb Magicka for a quick recharge (or maybe halt Camoran's spellcasting), heal other NPCs to make use of them killing enemies for you. Get the most bang for your buck out of the school you're going with.

What sword? One of the two dead Blades? If you find one Baurus will take it back when you have to talk to him at the end. He thanks you and says it will be hung in a place of honor.
Paul would be proud, both of your gameplay and your commentary
You cast faster while blocking because your hand has to move less distance.
When you cast normally your hand has to move from down by your waist and then up above your head (cast on self) or out forward (cast on target/touch) and then you have to move your hand all the way back down to your waist.
If you're blocking your hand is already up by your shoulder so it just has to go up/out and come back to your shoulder.
11:11 You noticed the greatest mystery of the universe: why the mechanic's car hardly starts, the plumber has leaks, the drywall installer has unfinished walls, and the computer repair guy's computer crashed.

"I hope there's diminishing returns for it" (staggers)
Me, remembering exiting a town and getting stunlocked to death by a puma: Yea, there _definitely_ is.
I scrubbed through some comments in case someone said it first but found none in the 60 or so i read :) at the 1:45 mark you sais you have a net -50% weakness to magic, this isnt the case 🧙♂️ You have a net Zero% weakness
Using Flare as an example
(6×2)-50%=6
A high elf would take 6+25%=7.5 ❤
Hope this helps and to let you know hitting 100% resistance to magic would always full resist magic, the school of restoration has such a spell you start with accesss to as a breton
The main reason your dying is because because you have 60 health and most dremora mages use spell of roughly 15-20 damage even in the early game
The solution? probably a sigil stone of resist magic even 5% is fine since its as effective as 10% (ie a spell doing 10 damage now is (10×2)-55%=9 and any hard earned gold could be used to make a spell of resist magic 10% 👀
Good luck in future runs!
I assume the weaknesses and resistances are additive from the base value. So flare would be 6 * (100-50)% rather than 6*100%*(-50%).
If it were multiplicative, a breton with the mundane ring would only have a 75% resistance, not 100%.
@@JustBackgroundNoiseIts quite simple to test in game why its not 50% weakness to magic, also u are correct they are not multipicate, when you put on the mundane ring they add together onto the 50% resist magic in a simple manner, its just Weakness to magic and Resist magic dont actually interact multiplicatively, they are 2 separate things that happen one after the other, lets reverse* it, You take 50% less damage from spells
it outputs half the damage, then You take 100% more damage from spells is applied, resulting in it doubling back to normal damage
happy to teach
