  • In this video I'll discuss what kinds of glue are best for sticking two sheets of foam together to make a larger display platform, and I'll demonstrate the technique I use to do the sticking.
    P.S. I forgot to note something important about HWFF Foam Fusion! It's formulated specifically to be more easily cut with a hot wire tool after drying. This is very useful in some situations like carving a few pieces that have already been glued together.

    I’ve found your videos very helpful and you’re rather a pleasant person to watch. I know that may sound strange, but some people just come across with a more genuine type personality than others.

    I really appreciate your videos. You have really helped me. I am making my first carved platform Halloween Village and I am glad I didn't have to figure this stuff out by myself.

    I don't know why people aren't trying "Sculpt or Coat." It's the best adhesive I've found for foam. It's Non-Toxic, has Little or No Shrinkage, Air Dry, Easy Storage--you can use it as a textural element, and you can paint it as well. A 2 lb. tub costs about $20. The only down side is that it takes a while to dry, but I've found it twice as strong as Elmer's.

    I'm just getting into this and I used what I had laying around the house. Ended up using hot glue and it worked, but next time I'll get the Elmer's. I desperately need a hot wire cutting tool, using the razor blade even with a fresh blade isn't as clean.

    I've just started down this path in my attempt to build large flat panel styrofoam speakers. I started with 3m Super 77 and glued two 30x20x3 cm sheets together along the 30cm edge. After leaving them to cure overnight I found that I was unable to separate them with my bare hands. I suspect if I put the joint over an edge and hit the overhanging piece really hard then it might break. Conclusion: this more than meets my requirements.

    Question - Does Elmers work just as well on pours foam made by FloraCraft? Thanks

    • @VillageVignettes
      @VillageVignettes  4 роки тому

      Eric Rasmussen as far as I know FloraCraft sells white rigid foam and also the soft green foam. I’m sure Elmer’s would work fine for the white stuff but I’ve never tried it on the green stuff. I stay as far away from that foam as I can because it’s far too soft for my purposes.

    The tacky glue didn’t work for me. My foam pieces wouldn’t stick.
