  • Lyrics:
    I'm waitin' on the day
When my thoughts are my own
When this house is my home
    And plans are made
When you be there for me babe
When you love me all the way
When you take my side in every little firefight
When you hang your things and stay
    I'm waitin' on the day
When my life on the run
Bleaches out in the sun and
    Shows my age
    I'm waitin' on the day
When that voice comes to say
That it's not wrong what you did
    For just a kid
When you be there for me babe
When you love me all the way
When you take my side in every little firefight
When you hang your things and stay
    I'm waitin' on the day
    Waitin' on the day
When these words are in stone
When the kids are all grown
    And we go dancing
Oh can you do it babe?
Can you love me all the way?
Will you tie me tight in little strands of paradise?
Will you walk with me before the morning fades?
    I'm waitin' on the day

He is now. Perishing in a plane crash would shoot him into the stratosphere. I'd rather he stick around though.
My manly side says he is a legend for bedding Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, and Taylor Swift. Was Katy Perry in the mix too? A breast man for sure. I'll remember that should I share a bucket of KFC with him...

There are so few musicians left who can both sing and play guitar really well. That's what I love about Mayer. He has mastered the craft of being a singer songwriter/musician. It is so entertaining to watch him perform. He makes me want to be a better musician.

His music is just incredible. Room for squares, continuum and heavier things where incredible records. Then he rolls out paradise valley and born and raised and showed a totally different style of sound and sensibilities. I miss that contrite John Mayer. I’m 58 and I don’t believe I have seen or heard a better musician/song writer.

I think we are seeing a once in a lifetime musical artist - perhaps the Mozart of our time - not in composition ability or piano playing or orchestra arrangement - but in creating music that is genuinely appealing to the times. Remember, Mozart would probably be playing electric guitar if he were around today....and he still wouldn’t be as good as JM.. lol

He’s not even Hendrix, how can u put him over goddamn Mozart? And I’m not even saying Hendrix compares to Mozart. They make two completely different kinds of music. I’m gonna guess based on your comment that your a teenage fan girl that thinks John’s a hottie?

Aarnik Nayak. Mozart, began from an extremely young age meaning he had to train in matters musical at home. He certainly had to learn sight-singing, learn solfege, etc. He composed his first orchestra when he was twelve!! John learned the guitar when he was 14 I believe and WOW having started at 14 and becoming insanely good within that amount of time is insane talent so yea John is great but if you haven’t seen anyone like John, try Stevie Ray Vaughn. King of Texas blues and basically the guy that John cloned. And also -your description of me is fairly accurate although I am slightly more on the young side say I just got a license and I understand how cinematography works

    • @thaddeusjackson
      @thaddeusjackson 4 роки тому +3

Aarnik Nayak John mayer is unique and incredibly gifted and he pushes guitars to a new level and he has inspired millions of fans, but almost everything John has done specifically chord progressions musical choices, has stemmed from what Mozart did, and you have to remember that Mayer has had more time than Mozart (he died around 35 mayer is in his forties) did and hasn’t made even close the amount of impact that Mozart did

  • @rdmkeytohwy

His songwriting is superior to most in modern music, his voice is good, and the guitar playing is unreal. My favorite artist for sure. Why is it that his albums always sound good on rainy/overcast days? If that is a legit thing, he is king of that!

This version is my favorite thing John Mayer has ever done. The right amount of longing. The right amount of little things that make a life happy and complete. Telling so much in minimal words allows for maximum relatability. It’s a perfect song, for me, and this stripped-down version makes it that much better.

I always have good music talks with my physical therapist. However, when I told him I'd been listening to and growing an appreciation for John, he said, "I sorry." His two reasons for disliking him: He's a homage artist (1) and (2) he's not a nice guy according to many Taylor Swift songs. I think calling someone a homage artist is stupid since every musician is inspired by others and it often shows (who cares). Secondly if I was going to stop listening to every musician that was guilty of some shit or not a nice person I would barely listen to anyone; nobody's perfect. can't wait for the new album.

+Colin Mckinney It's been my understanding that those who express a negative opinion about John usually do so for the same misinformed reasons. It seems people are willing to follow the herd on that kind of thing and unwilling to think for themselves. It's sad there people like that. John did some dumb stuff back in the day. Who didn't? The fact is that he's a brilliantly talented musician. One of the greatest writers, lyricists, and guitarists there has ever been. And he's a pretty good guy as well. Don't fret it (no pun intended) Like who you like. Try to change some minds, but if you can't, Like who you like anyway.

    I think lyrics are wrong:
"That it's not wrong what you did
    For just a kiss"
    I think he actually says
"That it's not wrong what you did
    For just a kid"
Kid instead of kiss, makes more sense to me, not 100% sure though.

So beautiful! So good! I’m so proud of him and so happy I have his songs to listen to. I feel sorry for him though, when he talks about missing a home life and not being able to reconcile his career with the desire to have a family life. I hope someday he’ll finally get what he sings about in this song.
