Here is a quick stake out pole mount that uses a Scottie gear track adapter (or the PVC version) to keep your kayak anchor pin out of the way while being quickly accessible.
Option 2: • Stake Out Pole Mount -...

I just made the stake out pole from your video. Thanks for the great idea
I do like your ideas and presentation. Thanks Steve.
I appreciate that!
Good hack, Steve. 👍
Your videos make my day
Hey Steve, here's another idea that I did for my PA12. I used a garden stake from Lowe's but I slipped a piece of 3/4" PVC over the upper half of the pole (gave it a little more rigidity) and the 3/4" PVC snaps into a taco style paddle clip mounted on my Boondox. Rides behind me like yours but I think its a little easier to put back in place (you don't have to try and thread it through the hole .)
I need to look around a Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart to see what they have now. When I did that last year, all the stakes were really wobbly. Thanks for the tip on the pvc!
You definitely are Mr Gadget! Would like to see you unloading and setting up your kayak when you get to the launch area. I’ve decided to forego the pole and try just using a 5 lb exercise wade to hold me in place if needed but if anyone really wants to use a stake out pole this looks like a good option
It actually does not take that much time - I'll have to do a video on that!
Never too hot for fishing ..just go early or late ....glad to see I’m not the only person who likes Bruce plow type anchor...can’t stand those fold up ones . Set the hook brother
Use the yak attack rotogrip paddle holder can be adjusted works like a charm on my kayak
Thanks for the tip!
Good idea, but fishing Galveston area marsh system, my stakeout pole has mud attached to it every time I pull it out of water. That stuff is a pain to remove. Any ideas on cleaning stakeout pole before storing back on kayak. Maybe something with stiff bristles.
Maybe a large sponge?
Love this, will be adding to my boat.
Steve, ever consider a second channel based on fishing? Keep up the good work!
I did, but it is a lot of work to just keep this channel fed with content. Also, since I do not fish in a wide variety of places, it might end up being the same trip over and over.
Yes first to watch 🤪
Steve what is your email? I have a Dollar Tree hack to discuss.
Sure - steve@kayakhacks.com
Is there a way for a guy to have a post-retirement career in fishing if he never catches anything? I’m asking for a friend.
Those who can , do..... Those who can't..... teach : > )
Well... you are watching this channel! lol... post retirement!
I’m not retired yet ☹️
