I did this today and it worked great! Ace Hardware had 8ft piece for about $9.00 and the $0.70 tee connector. I already had goo and line to tie it off. This worked great today as the tide was moving quick in river and the wife and I tied our kayaks off to the stake at one point as well and it held. I was surprised by how well the mud came off too.
I'm glad to hear it worked out for you. I always bring this when I know I'm fishing shallow water. Thanks for sharing your experiencing using it in current. It's pretty cool it handled two kayaks. I haven't used it in swift current yet. You can't beat it for the price. It's worked great for me the past 2 years. Thanks for watching.

@@TomyTekOutdoors I have an Ascend FS10. It’s a good entry-level fishing kayak for me. I don’t get out much, but I’ll see if that changes now that I have a tool.

Thanks Elstan. This should work nicely at 4 mile run. really I appreciate your continued support. I hope to catch up with you one of these days. Shaon and I have been trying to fish for a long time, but our schedules have never lined up.
Thanks for stopping by. This has worked great for me so far. It beats paying a lot for something I use for specific types of fishing. It's a cheap and easy winter project.
I really need to make one for my kayak, thanks for the video man, I can't see paying $600 for the mini power pole when I paid less for my kayak 😂. Anyways, love your channel man keep them coming! Tite lines brother! (MIKE). SUBBED!
I do a lot of different types of fishing, but there are only a few places I could use a stakeout pole. I couldn't justify paying a lot for it. This one is so easy to make and works great. Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate you stopping by.

Great video... How do you like your new outback? Have you had any problems with excessive water in from the front hatch? I was going to buy mine a couple months back but put it on hold until Hobie fixed the issue .
I like the new Outback, but I'm still working through setting it up for my needs. It's been a real challenge to motorize it. It was a lot easier to do on my 2016. I need to test my motor setup thoroughly before I decide which one to keep. I'm holding onto my 2016 util the end of the season. Hobie is now installing the front hatch rubber seal from the factory. They sent me one, but I haven't installed it yet. I don't really go offshore, so I'm not too concerned. I heard that you should also seal the hardware around the front hatch as well. If you can, I would recommend demoing one before you decide. I just went to a kayak demo day and had a chance to demo bunch of kayaks. I might have chose something else if I went to a demo day before I bought my first Outback.

What kayak are you using it with? It works great with my 2015 and 2019 Outback. On my PA12 360, it has been holding up, but I have noticed that it has a curve in it now. The PA is a bit heavier.
