H.I.Ds warming up. 15000k blue

- this is my H.I.Ds warming up from a cold start. They are xentec brand bought off ebay, bulbs failed and turned two different colors so I bought new bulbs from a different seller. They are 15000k blue, and bright as hell. Any questions or concerns please ask. I've also hooked up a relay kit to the ballast so they can recieve direct power from the battery.
@TopFuelProductions the brightest is called 8,000k and is a pure white. the more white the brighter they are. colors start from yellow, white, white/blue/ purple, deep deep dark purple, and also green. they are pretty cool.
@esquivel100 they illuminate about the same maybe a little further away, they do though illuminate on the left and right a little bit more than the stock bulbs, thus making turns easier at night. H.I.Ds are pretty cool, they do have some pros and cons though that you should be aware of, for example like them having the need to "warm up" before they are bright.
@UGAundergrad you cannot just buy the HID bulbs only and connect them to your stock wiring hardness, they will not work because they do no have the required ballast to power them up.. You half to buy an hid kit, which is around 60 bucks on ebay, they come with ballast, which is the power inverter to power up the bulb. The ballast draw power from where your halogen bulbs connected to, but it recommended to buy a HID relay kit which is ten dollars on ebay. Then the bulbs connect to the ballast.
@treverleefrechette yeah H.I.Ds can be a bit pain in the ass, but if you get a good set they really are a nice touch to any ride, even the color ones lol.

@marty1091 yeah I used to have 30k deep purple but it was too dark and they crapped out on me anyways. H.I.Ds are illegal here in missouri if you instal them aftermarket since most cars have "reflector" style headlights, which really just means it spreads the light everywhere, blinding ppl lol. Your really supposed to have projector style headlights to get the most out of H.I.Ds. I can understand why your dad doesn't like them lol, they prob blind him. 6000k is a nice color also.
@arnoni11 yes they do go higher, but the higher K you go the darker the light output will be.
@terminatorhavok well the warming up only applies to the very hot ones. like urs 15000, my 6000 r instant. it's just if u go that high.

@TopFuelProductions the highest I've seen is like 30k but that will be super dark...like a purple color. if you looking for the brightest...go with 8k...like I said its the purest white.

@terminatorhavok like blue and stuff? yea that's prolly why. in illinois it's illegal above 10000k i think so i've never even thought of getting them. my dad also doesn't like them and wudn't let me get them. so i got some 6000k. i like that luxury look, that pure white.

@treverleefrechette yah same here man I bought xentec HIDS from ebay 1 side is blue 1 side is white then i turned them off and on and they turned the same color but they flicker purple sometimes when they r blue (15k), some half assed ebay shit. Trust me next time buy a real kit for like 150 bucks rather than 36 dollar shit I had to send it back 3 times cause both times ballast was messed up.
