Hey there, thank you so much for your videos on the M3BLA13! Made installing in my 2010 Mazda 3 so much easier. Any chance you know how to fix the steering wheel buttons skipping tracks being backwards? Can't find the solution for this model anywhere online, only for older models. Thanks
Thank you for watching. Yes, I know how to fix that actually and it took me some digging to be able to figure it out. I will be releasing a video soon about this topic, along with other tips and tricks. Let me get back with you on this comment by end of day and I’ll tell you how to do it on here.
It’s not where you think it would be. Go to settings> car info >click on the tab on the left “version” . Then on the lower right click on “my car” . Then click on the lower middle tab called “app” . You will see a list of two items, #2 says “personal habits” click on the tab that says “learn” next to it. There you will find a set of functions and you press them on the screen and then the button you want it to act as.

Do you know why the sound of the radio goes away when you put it in reverse?
Yes there is a feature that turns it off I guess so you can focus on reversing, kind of odd. I know you can turn it off though. Even the newer Eonon units do this still.

@@D_Spear is it better to do at Mazda dealer? How much do they charge to install back up camera? I have 2013 Mazda 3 has less than 50k miles but main problem is no back up camera.

Hey! I appreciate the feedback and no that’s a first for me! Are you sure it’s related to the radio? I know the pass seat does have a weight sensor and sometimes when there is just barely enough weight it can trigger the sensor on and off over bumps, I wanna say it’s like 30 lbs.
Where do you get the factory pw? Is it located in the device manual?
For this model I read it online somewhere and it didn’t say in the manual. For some newer Eonon units the password is in the manual.
Hey Sparky, great video mate, I'm looking at the same model. Sorry if I missed it but how fast is the charging from the USBs that this thing outputs? Just trying to think how I'd charge (hopefully fast charge) my phone if I get this. Other than using the cigarette lighter.
Great question! Upon looking up on Eonons website it doesn’t appear that there are specs listed but I personally haven’t noticed it charging faster than standard speeds. I would think if it was a fast charger Eonon would advertise that, I think that would be a great feature on future models. Thanks for watching btw!
After setting the rear camera settings and save it it goes back to the previous settings after some time.please help

Hey for the wireless apple car play do you have to buy a separate piece for it to work mine just mirrors my phone and doesn’t do the car play ?
No it comes built in, make sure you have your WiFi and Bluetooth both on your iPhone, this is required for it to work. Then you need to make sure you have the hotspot function on the Eonon radio unit, after that you need to connect your iPhone to the radios WiFi hotspot, it should say android. Also make sure your Bluetooth is connected to the Eonon unit, I wanna say it’s just called Eonon. Hope that helps. It should have done this automatically
How did you hook up the steering wheel buttons to the eonon unit?
It’s all part of the main connector on the wiring harness, came connected to the Eonon wiring harness from the factory.

If you have this model it requires the included WiFi antenna to be installed.
I bought it recently, but the speedmeter on the homescreen that shows the km/h is not showing any value even when the car is running!! Why so?
You probably need to install the gps antenna.
Great Video! I have the same unit but mines is GA2187. I was wondering if you by any chance knew how to fix Bluetooth issues i'm having on mines. It keeps connecting and disconnecting and it's having issues staying connected. When i'm on the phone or listening to music it keeps going on and off and i need to fix it some how. Ant thoughts as ton how to fix and also do you happen to know where can i get the firmware update as i am trying to update my unit but don't know where to get update or how to update. Any thoughts? I just recently bought this unit for my mazda 3, but I have been unable to get the steering wheel controls to work with this unit. I have tried so many different things but no luck so far
Sorry to hear that, are they not working at all? I would make sure the can bus box is connected all the way, it should be one of those little boxes built into the wiring harness if the unit.
@@D_Spear They were not working at all, I tried to follow their instructions to remap them, but they wouldn't even get recognized as being pushed. I sold my car last week for a speed3. I'm gonna do some maintenance stuff first, but I may look into the head unit again in the future.
I have an older version Eonon. A really annoying problem is once you connect with its Bluetooth, the other apps like CarPlay will only play music from “phone call” channel. I feel like the Bluetooth occupies the main audio output channel😢
are you connecting the phone via usb at the same time as bluetooth?
@@D_Spear it doesn’t matter if and how the phone is connected. After connecting Bluetooth, even the original music app on the head unit only plays through the phone call channel

I did this exact installation for myself last week, mine is auto. I haven't put the reverse cam in yet but will do, your other video is great for that. I have a question, are you having trouble with the it reading USBs?
Like a usb stick? I haven’t tried that yet but it’s been working with my dash cam that connects via usb.
@@D_Spear Yes a flash/thumb drive, I can charge from the ports but it won't recognise them to access the drive info

Hi, I would I appreciate some guidance. Just bought one for my Mazda and decided to install it myself after watching several videos. Everything seemed self explanatory and easy to follow. I ran into two issues: One, the steering wheel controls don’t work And secondly, there’s a (ghggggg) sound when I try to connect to CarPlay using the USB cable. I noticed that it stops if I turned the radio off/on. Any advice?
Did you double check that your wiring harness is fully connected? Even the Eonon boxes that should be plugged in already when the unit came shipped out?
How to identify reverse light wire.my camera have just one red wire ,other then the one coming from front.
Are the parking guidelines generated by the eonon head unit? Can it be disabled if you forget to cut the wire in my reverse camera for parking guidelines. My current setup seems to have two parking guidelines overlapping each other.
did exactly what you did and the unit still won't show the reverse camera when i go into reverse, i have to manually open the camera app to see the reverse camera feed. but it definitely doesn't pop up automatically when i go into reverse and i don't get why yours does
what model of eonon radio did you buy?
@@D_Spear i just got a generic one from ebay, but i figured it out. i had to wire the spare red wire on the camera feed to the reverse/back wire on the head unit and then had to splice the other spare camera feed wire with the positive wire on the power cable that connects to your reverse light. hopefully others see this cause i don't think other videos show that, must be a non eonon head unit thing
Present? The present button?? You pronounce it Pre-set. Those are Presets on the radio. Pre-set as in pre set frequencies.
The UK VW version of this Eonon unit uses the factory password of 5802.
Ever had an issue where it won't kick on even when the ambient temp (this is displaying on the unit) is lower than the set temp? I've tried factory resetting and soft resetting multiple times (the unit is new so it should work).
No I haven’t but the basic operation of a heater is actually very simple. Does the fan kick on and just no heat or it doesn’t do anything at all?
@D_Spear when we turn it off for a few hours and turn it back on, it'll glow orange for around 10-15 seconds and kick off. It won't turn back on at all after that. We hear it click when the temp goes above and below the set temp but nothing happens. I don't think the fan has ever kicked on either
I’d really need the wiring diagram to tell you where to look, these are usually a sticker inside the unit but if these aren’t meant to be serviced it may not have it. I might open mine up to look but in the mean time I’d turn the breaker off or remove the power, confirm that your connections are tight , that’s very important. If there is a loose connection then that can cause it not to work, also check for burns or melting in area where the connections are made. If there are any other splices for this Circuit then I’d check those spots too, like where the wire nuts are. If you are handy and feel safe with electricity, I’d also confirm there is 240v of power coming in. If you are not comfortable with any of this, then I would suggest calling an HVAC contractor, they can probably diagnose the issue but that would at least be a $125 service call.
@D_Spear I'll take a look inside and see if our connections are fine. I wired up the dryer cord for it myself and I'm not the handiest person but I thought it looked pretty good. For the rest of it the only thing I did was disconnect the thermometer to have it hang outside the unit. Heatstorm is sending us a pcba board to see if replacing that will work. We'll give it a shot I suppose
We just had an electrician redo our breaker box (it was a federal pacific which is recalled) and he ran our new 240v to our garage. Maybe I'll have him check to make sure it's actually supplying enough power. Thanks for the feedback!
