    Hi Thanks for video. I've got a golf mk5 1.9 tdi ( engine code BXE). Threw a conrod out of block recently. Any idea why this happens? I've read on the forums where it is recommended to replace with BKC engine. Not sure whether I should go for a remanufactured engine. Planning to do all the work myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Great video!! Can someone help me out? I have 2016 polo gt the gears keep slipping, if I put the car in 4th from 3rd it thinks it is still in 3rd. When I accelerate the dashboard lights up showing the car in 3rd gear even though it's in 4th. Do you reckon I need to replace the clutch??

    Hey! Thanks for the video it’s cleared up a lot, but is this the same process for an auto gearbox? Or is it different? I have a 1.2l 2010 Volkswagen polo, trans code MGV so I was wondering if it’s the same concept or if it’s different?

      Hi thanks for watching. Few ways to tell.
      If it starts slipping for example if the revs go up but car dosnt move too much.
      When the car is off you can change gears easy but when you start the engine hard to change the gears
      Theres more examples the 1st one is more common

    Hi! Octavia 2014 2.0 liter TDI manual gearbox (6 speeds) running about 266000 km, the problem happened suddenly when the clutch pedal is sticking down, I need to raised it manually several time to engage the speeds. There is no leakage of fluid after the inspection.
    I tried to bleed air from the system, it needs to move the pedal and press it about 40 times to have a normal feeling, but the liquid comes out full of air bubbles (almost white in colour) from the breather.
    Is this a problem of the Pedal pump (Master cylinder)? or in the pump within the whole mechanics (Slave cylinder)? And could this happen for a breather problem? thank you

      Hi thanks for watching really appreciate it. Does yours have a concentric slave cylinder if so could be that the one inside the gearbox. If it's on the outside try replacing that before you do anything.

      This job will normally cost around £300
      If your clutch feels odd might not be the clutch itself, could be the cylinders

    Nice one brother man, tell me something man on 1400 polo vivo clutch is not clutching after doing engine overhaul as well as clutch, it spongy and it doesn't seems to be building enough pressure to be applied to pressure plate in order to free clutch plate. There is no visible leaks and I replaced master cylinder as well because it seemed to had internal leak since it was building enough pressure but basically there isn't much difference even after changing master cylinder. Note that it was clutching before and it was driven to the workshop.

      It must still have air in it. Or the clutch pressure plate is faulty

    Hey my brothers is making a grinding noise when rev’d in neutral and can feel a vibrating through the clutch pedal, been told it could be the flywheel how can you tell if it’s the clutch or the flywheel, cant seem to find any flywheels on any online parts sites?

      For the vibration on the clutch could be the clutch or flywheel. As for the nose when reving could be one of the pulleys or water pump

      @@TEAMR4ULTV in neutral when you press the clutch the grinding noise goes away at the biting point then comes back when you lift off the clutch, been told it’s the clutch release bearing, that sound right?

      I dont remove the oil what ever comes out I just retop it up

    Hi I have a polo mk5, 3cylinder 4 valve, when shit gears in low rpm , or hit gas and lose it immidiatyly the car is shocking espicaially in low rpm, it is getting worst, it this a clutch problem or something else?

      Could be clutch. On the polo 3 cylinder they burn the valves out also could be the timing chain

    I have removed all the bell housing bolts but the gearbox is still stuck to engine. How do I seperate the two? I am working on vento 2011 diesel.

      Maybe just stuck on the dowls, if you have taken all the bolts off just use a pry bar and pry it out

    I changed clutch but it gives sound in morning when I start it and if I press clutch half it goes when I'll leave clutch it comes back but In morning when I start it after 1 minute sounds finish and while I'm driving I can't hear any sound again it's always do in a morning. When it's cold and if temperature is above then 15 degrees then there is no sound at all.

    How many miles did that clutch last on that particular vehicle before it was changed?

      You need two people to be honest makes your life a lot easier. Once you have the clutch lined up it should just go in

      @@andrestrydom8362 did you driveshaft cap/different cap off
      Also did you try the clutch plate o the input shaft in the gear box and last you have to make sure its lined up. One more thing if you are using a gear box lift try lowering it a little or lifting it a little hope you get it in.

      I would say its nearly the same gearbox might be heavier but should be pretty much same

      They dont take too much about 2.5l

      Or just keep Putting oil in untill it come out of the filler plug. But I'll be honest you need a special tool to put the oil in

    VW says the car should be brought to their workshop, dismantle the gearbox, measure the shims and that's when they can get the right clutch kit. How true is this? Cause then this says i cannot just walk in to a store and buy a clutch kit

      That's not true I got the clutch kit from local spare shop am in Manchester and used BMS Motorfactors
