When I said mattress on top of a box I don't mean a cardboard box, but a bottom part of a bed that's just like the mattress but thicker. I don't know why I called it a box.
You have a really, really, really nice NYC apartment. The only thing thats missing is a headboard for your bed,lol Hate beds with no head board. Thanks for sharing the vid.
@TubeGuest5178 I had a car and only used it weekends. Alternate side of the street parking means moving the car and finding a spot every day or so or get ticketed/towed. Parking spaces go for hundreds a month. DMV is just very busy. Everyone uses the subway.
Enjoy that view while it lasts.. I see a 'new development' coming up right outside your window.. Cool crib, though.. Thats Houston, right? BTW, I see the "Jordans"... Nice.
I said that it starts around 800 plus. At the 800 mark you are probably looking in the Bronx, some areas in Staten Island. At 1800 you are in the Manhattan area and venturing out.
Nice apt, your couch shoulda had a more of a masculine feel to it vs the round arms to complement the overall contemporary look/fell of your other furniture. Nevertheless, the apt is nice and the view is crazy, nice view to stare out of the window on those snowy ass weekends or rainy days. lol
beautiful apartment to relax , have time for yourself maybe with friends! smoke some weed haha . And also gorgeous view this is the kind of place i´d like to live in NYC
Cost of renting an apt differs, pretty much depends on where you trying to get in. best to get in where you fit in.lol people live way above and beyond there means there. But rent pretty much ranges from 800-plus. You probably find cheaper rent in the Bronx, compared to Manhattan and Brooklyn bc those are the places most young people are drawn to Manhattan and Brooklyn.
It's true which expolains why it's a hassle because one doesn't use their car often. If you don't have an garage for residents of the building, then you have to find one one the street which can really be a nightmare with alternate side ban parking regs which means on alternating days you have to move your car to the other side for street sweeping. Now you know why only well off people can afford a garage in NYC, especially Manhattan.
How come every apartment in Manhattan has fancy furniture? Now don't get me wrong, I love keeping my room clean, but my apartment would have regular furniture. A medium sized mattress on top of a box, a few fold out chairs (keep some in the closet), and a nice big couch. If I lived in a small place full of furniture like that I'd probably ram my foot into all the glass, and break it. I'd have things planted to the floor for the most part.
Probably more than that B1k, its a real one bedroom and looks like it might be a very good location based on that view. so you might need to add another 500-1000 to that price.lol
Same here in NE GA. Rent typically starts around $400/mth and goes higher the closer to Atlanta you get. I think it all depends on what kind of life you want to live. I like to have some personal space, quiet, and have a yard to "play" in and enjoy the warm sunny weather. So needless to say I'd commit suicide before ever moving to NYC, or Atlanta for that matter. Beside, I used to live in the city. I don't miss the violence, theft, and seedy people. If that's what culture is, keep it!
you must be paying a fortune to be living in manhattan. I'm a new yorker myself but my mom and dad recently moved to Pennsylvania so here i am 2 hrs or so away
May I ask how much rent you pay for it ? I visited new york a couple of month ago and I totally wanna live in Manhattan when I grow up, the people are so awesome!!
@kidcouger i doubt you live in NYC cause Harlem isn't as bad as it is you say it is. Harlem has turned into a nice and safe neighborhood. Just ask anyone
Howdy! Just a quick question: I'm looking for an apartment so that I can go to school in New York (John Jay School of Criminology, hopefully!) Do you have any tips for affordable apartments? Thanks!
Let's see - the mayor has outlawed transfats, smoking, he's working on salt, arrests people for taking more than one seat on a subway at 2 AM, bans ownership of guns, opposes conceal carry permits, taxes everything that moves and now wants to charge for garbage pickup. Where do I sign up for paradise?
@christm5 its not called uptight its called strong. us new yorkers are strong. We made it through 9/11...well most of us, the bomb threat on times square, we're the most targeted city, oh and dont forget the congested rush hour traffic, subways and busses, pollution and so on. We're not zombies, we just dont quarrel over simple crap like alarms.
hot apartment! but seriously, do you need to have so many electronics turned on at the same time!?? think about global warming and your electricity bill!!
hey im 15 in UK- and i wanna move to NYC when im older - so its best if i move in when im like in my mid/late 20's? What area is good? And how can i get accepted to U.S.A to start working??? tell me more!! i dont understand how i can just "move in" and live my life... thankyou
@jbirns $400 a month FOR PARKING!! I can't tell you how I feel about that because you just caused me to experience an emotion that I've never felt before.
how can you live in such a dumpy place. well, i guess you work there. aren't you concerned with all the pollution int just down the street. i would move to a place where you can get some fresh air. thanks for sharing.
@kidcouger Stop trying to be funny. You live in Utah with your moms.lol I lived in Harlem and there isn't no place were the rent is $400 dollars. Have you ever even been to NYC? Stay in Utah.
Whats wrong with Harlem??? Dont know whether you are White or not, but Harlem isnt what it use to be, there are more White people moving/migrating to Harlem then ever before. And, why not, you still get to remain on the island of Manhattan at a cheaper rent and bigger apt then you would get if you where in the more "trendy" areas of Manhattan.
When I said mattress on top of a box I don't mean a cardboard box, but a bottom part of a bed that's just like the mattress but thicker. I don't know why I called it a box.
really nice place ....enjoy it
Oh I would love to live there! I like your place :) The fact that you have a view not of an apartment 2 inches next to you is amazing!

hey im 15 in UK- and i wanna move to NYC when im older - so its best if i move in when im like in my mid/late 20's? What area is good? And how can i get accepted to U.S.A to start working??? tell me more!! i dont understand how i can just "move in" and live my life... thankyou
@jbirns $400 a month FOR PARKING!! I can't tell you how I feel about that because you just caused me to experience an emotion that I've never felt before.
THE GOOD PART OF LIVING THERE, is NO CAR!...so just take off that 20,000$ that you would spend on your car and that goes into your rent!
how can you live in such a dumpy place. well, i guess you work there. aren't you concerned with all the pollution int just down the street. i would move to a place where you can get some fresh air. thanks for sharing.
