Your LTZ 400 is super clean man I have a 07 LTZ 400 I’ve been doing things to it to make it look better
Helpful, no going around with nonsense information this man says real facts and this is how a machine is supposed to be treated and maintained
Really appreciate how meticulous yet efficient you are with your work. Constantly changing the oil on my dvx 400 and learned a couple of great tips in this video! Thank you
Yes, thank you! I am glad it helped.
This is an amazingly detailed video. I just purchased a 2003 Ltz400 and envy how clean your quad is.
I am dieing to get my hands on an ltz that clean. Cleanest 400 I've seen. Love it
Thanks Taz!
Personally I take advantage of my oil auto drain feature and just add when it gets low!
🤣
Great video, no BS and straight to the point. Thankyou.
Great video this is the most detailed step by step oil change on a ltz400
Thanks!
❤
Great video!
Thanks Don!
What’s goin on man really enjoyed the video. I just bought my first bike ever a 03 Z400 and lookin for someone to help me maintain and ride together down here in FL. Would you be open to me bringing by the Z400 and you helpin me learn the machine more I think I’m hearing more noises than usual lol go riding some trails. Either way let me know bro and thanks again for the video keep up the great work !
Definitely not opposed. Unfortunately really busy with my day job and no trails to ride by my place. I drive 45 min to Croom to Ride .
Hey man Why 15w 40 diesel oil instead of 10w 40 regular oil ?
I think I outlined the reasoning pretty good toward the end but basically the Rotella T4 is a JASO/MA rated oil (wet clutch safe) and is cheap so you can change your oil often (which everyone should be doing). without pissing money away. Motorcycle specific oils are relatively expensive vs. Rotella at less than $20/gallon. Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
Any chance you still have your old tusk heel guards and nerf bars? Been looking all over and can’t find a set since they discontinued them
I no longer have the heel guards but I still have the nerfs if you are interested.
Any particular reason you're using 15 40 instead of 10 40? I'm about to change mine, some people recommended me to use 15 40 even though Suzuki says 10 40 in the manual if I'm not mistaken... Why is that?
This oil is available literally everywhere. KTM specified to use it for quite a while as did Rekluse before they came out with their own oil. Many race teams still use this oil without issue. 15-40 T4 is an excellent oil as is their 5w-40 T6. Change it often!!
Quads crazy
Can you make a video on how to rebuild/ clean the carburetor on the LTZ400
I no longer have the stock carb or I would. It's a very simple procedure on the LTZ I am sure there are a ton of great vids on UA-cam for the LTZ or DRZ carb
Why 15-40. Vs the 10-40
Sorry.. I commented that before finishing the video 🥴🤣 please keep up the great work helping all of us
Oil change starts ar 5:00
Thanks I appreciate the comment
You know anyone trying to sell a ltz 400? Been looking for a clean one gonna be using it around the farm for various reasons
What size crush washer is it for the oil drain plug also where can I find the oil filter oring at?
Order a bunch of them from the rocky mountain atv oem parts section. You can also buy a universal pack of crush washers from them for multiple machines.
I have a question about my LTZ 400, I changed petcock to a raptor 660 one, but now when I turn on the choke it cuts off, what could cause that?
Not really sure I understand. If it's running, and holding an idle on it's own why turn on the choke? It should only be used for a few seconds to get it started.
@@PatrickRiggs33 it’s never done that before, it’s a little colder where I’m at, I like to use it as a high idle of some sort
@@daytonwalter1747 well don't do that. Quick way to carbon up a spark plug. Adj idle as needed with the idle screw.
@@PatrickRiggs33 ok I’ll refrain from doing that, but I switched to the 660 petcock cause i just ordered a rossier exhaust and was planning on doing a carb rebuild too, just wanted to freshen everything up
@@daytonwalter1747 Good call! If you plan on just keeping it simple with an exhaust and stock carb get the dynojet jet kit and follow their instructions. It will run really well. Also recommend a pull style choke for your stock carb if you don't already have one.
Do you change your oil filter every time you change your oil?
Yes

What nerf bars are those ?
