  • Do you ever feel guilty about doing things that MIGHT be considered sin? Do you feel like God has a list of dos and do-nots that are impossible to follow? We have some good news for you: the Bible is NOT a list of dos and do-nots. Today, let's find out what the Bible says about legalism.

    John 15:9-14
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
    2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
In Him. We have to be found in Him to receive the promises and the inheritance of eternal life. His sheep hear Him and they follow Him. Matthew 25 tells us who are the sheep and those who are the goats.

Thank you, Kevin! It's heartbreaking how many questions we get that start with "Will God send me to Hell if I ____..." And that blank has been filled in with everything from "cut my hair" to "go to the movies" to "play football" to, yes, even "watch anime." We hope this video helps educate young believers that God isn't just waiting around for them to mess up so He can punish them. That is not how God operates!

*I share your concern because as a young person I've asked myself many of those questions. I had to put a lot of effort into reading the word, doing research, and asking questions to let go of my anxiety and be still and watch the salvation of the LORD. (Exodus 14 theme there)
"God isn't just waiting around for them to mess up so He can punish them."
      *Amen, Hebrews 4 16.
*By the way, thanks for answering the anime question... I've kinda had that doubt before, HAHA.
      Blessings to you guys.

This is more about idolatry but it still has a legalistic tone,I’ve read an article about what the publisher claims is about what your pastor never told you about the second commandment and the scriptural definition of graven images and idols and it says that the 10 commandments have a particularly interesting feature which is the Hebrew word lo which means you shall not thus whenever we see this in the commandments we know it is a stand alone commandment which does not depend on other passages to qualify or change its meaning and that the use of the Hebrew word lo in exodus 20:4-5 is that verse 5 does not support the context to verse 4 but instead verse 4 is only to be understood in its own context thus telling us that toys plushes, figures and figurines, collectables, statues, sculptures, merchandise, memorbelia, robots, animatronics, decorations and other 3. Dimensional images of animals, people, characters, solders, hero’s,villians, monsters, aliens, robots and other living things (real and fictional) are still forbidden even if not worshipped and that believing otherwise is leaning on our own understanding (which is a form of self idolatry and is exactly what king Saul did) and that deut 4:16-18 gives a further detailed explanation on what shapes are forbidden and that the only reason 3 dimensional and not 2 dimensional images are forbidden is because the Hebrew word means to cut and hew and is noticeable by touch too and not just sence and that the Hebrew word asah which means make also means acquire, fashion, keep, receive, accept, take, buy and other meanings depending on context therefore telling us that they are still forbidden even if made by someone else and that there’s a cause and effect relationship where making or having them inevitably leads to bowing down to serving, forming an attachment to (which is a form of worship) and worshipping them which is hidden in our hearts and not seen and which according to deut 7:26 will only strength the enemy stronghold allowing demons to come in with various tourments, troubles and curses which include unusual discipline problems, out of the ordinary and/or chronic sickness, troubles, diseases and accidents, accidents, emotional problems, family and marriage problems, chronic nightmares and mental attacks, constant argument, continued disobedience and rebellion, fearfulness, anxiety, etc and that they can only leave when we discard and/or destroy the objects and that there comes a great freedom and healing in the areas of our homes, healing in our bodies, emotional well-being and peace in our homes when we do so and that this is not just their opinion and that a flippant mind and attitude will only create a problem 7 times worse than before (Matt 12:43-45) and that when these objects are present in homes or work areas prayers will be difficult to answer or there will be a lack of understanding of gods presence and peace or a lack of understanding and/or acceptance of his word and that when men have seen the making of the bronze serpent, cherubim on the mercy seat and 12 oxen under the sea they have assumed it must be acceptable to make these kinds of images and thus have rejected gods word a submitted an idolatris substitute and that when their were made their were hidden parables put in them that would be revealed at a later time (for example:the bronze serpent not only simbolized Christ sacrifice on the cross for us but was also an example of the cause and effect relationship mentioned earlier where owning them eventually leads to bowing down and serving them which lead to it having to be destoryed) and that these example were not excused by god for our disobedience but our instead a test by him and that he desires to see whether or not we will obey and hear his word or instead submitted an idolatris understanding and that we are believing god only when we take his word with child like faith and act upon in as a doer of his word is this true or false and please explain why and how?

Please have patience. There is one person who answers all the comments for 412teens across the social media accounts as well as the comments on the website. They are not monitoring UA-cam 24/7.
I'm not exactly sure what your question is here. I cannot give the reasons why someone else is saying something; it would merely be speculation. You can learn more about what the Bible says about idolatry here: 412teens.org/qna/what-is-idolatry.php
Simply put, Idolatry is worshipping a false god, which, in today's world, is putting anything as more important than God, making it its own little god. Yet God the Father commands us not have any other gods except Him (Deuteronomy 5:7). Why is idolatry bad? Idolatry steals our joy because nothing can satisfy our needs like God. Without God, we are left in a constant state of wanting without satisfaction. Check the closets of your heart for idols that you may be worshipping so that you may have the abundant life He intended for you (John 16:33).

@@412teens does exodus 20:5 still supply the context to verse 4 even though they both have the Hebrew word lo which means you shall not and are the makings of the bronze serpent, cherubim on the mercy seat,12 oxen under the sea and the lions, oxen and cherubim on the 10 lavers still excuses for us to and proof that we can we can make, keep and have 3 dimensional images of animals,people,characters,soldiers,monsters,aliens,robots,insects/bugs and other living things, creatures and species despite what this guy claims about them and do the Hebrew words not apply to believers today?

Exodus 20:5 is talking about generational sin. For more on this topic, please see this article on GotQuestions: www.gotquestions.org/parents-sin.html

    Wait…The Bible isn’t a book of ‘Do nots’ ? I’m not a Calvinist, but to say there isn’t a list…At the very least, what’s the 10 Commandments then ?
    - This is sounding borderline ‘New Age’ Christianity.

    • @412teens

Great question! Many people mistakenly look at the Ten Commandments as a set of rules that, if followed, will guarantee entrance into heaven after death. In contrast, the purpose of the Ten Commandments is to force people to realize that they cannot perfectly obey the Law (Romans 7:7-11), and are therefore in need of God’s mercy and grace. Despite the claims of the rich young ruler in Matthew 19:16, no one can perfectly obey the Ten Commandments (Ecclesiastes 7:20). The Ten Commandments demonstrate that we have all sinned (Romans 3:23) and are therefore in need of God’s mercy and grace, available only through faith in Jesus Christ.
