I know it’s probably already very likely but I really want a third Scylla song for the extreme measure version of the boss fight
I hope they periodically release Scylla songs until we have enough for a full album.
i would unironically pay for a Scylla song pack DLC
@@isopodshuffle I second this
ima need harsh vocals on that one ngl
Fear will feel better when extreme measure comes back and frees up 6-10 fear.
Hope so cause now it feels tideous.
Yeah, it's honestly been so frustrating to force builds because of high fear. I'll probably take a break from the game until they add extreme measure and buff few stuff.
@@shinkinshin001119 it sucked getting 24 fear on the torches but I just used the same aspect as the vid but with Hestia attack with born gain and Hera and Hestia's duo boon just made it with one death def but now I've done everything in the game but chaos and fates prophecy's so I'm just gonna wait till full release because I think they cant be done till then.
@@-Mister-_._-Sir- bigger issue is not being able to reroll a hammer, fear is fine if ur not an unga bunga ape playing like hades 1. not being able to reroll a hammer at least once is the most tedious part of the game.
true, let me not scratch my head and hate the game because of the difficulty. let me enjoy different fun builds until EM is added
I shudder at the thought of an extreme measures Chronos
I want him to go full biblically accurate angel in phase 3
Poseidon doesn’t work well on the torches? That makes sense. Who wants wet torches anyway?
That run had a very distinct, '9am college paper sprint to the prof' vibe. Nice.
I like running aspect of mel on torches with zeus on the special, and go for romantic spark. This just lets you run through enemies and absolutely obliterate them. You add on hephaestus or zeus' sprint for even more damage, or go for demeter cast for origination
I had fun with a build that happened. Mel Axe, Heroic Hephestus Attack, Chop Hammer. With a few poms, I had the Heph blast attack up every couple seconds.
mel axe is just good because it's the axe >:3
actually the second best base weapon, purely on the strength of the attacks.
Try that with the Heph and Hera Duo Boon. I was doing 1K damage per chop
I keep thinking about Born Gain, I think the fact that you can channel while regaining Magick is my favorite part, only Poseidon and Hephaestus really do that, and on Poseidon's is good. Maybe the Devs should make an exception to the "no regaining while channeling" rule for the Torches only? The rule is fine enough on other weapons, but not on Torches' Ω attack...
Changing how dashing worked from Hades 1 was bold, and I think it pays off: you have a game that's similar and definitely lets you carry over a lot of Hades 1 experience, but just that change alone gives you a lot to relearn, on top of new enemies, bosses, weapons, etc. I feel like Hades 2 is somewhat inherently harder simply because Mel doesn't have access to s the way Zag does, and the Surface seems like it's designed to be much harder than either of the Underworlds.
That said, I already have my 32 Fear runs done in Hades 2, and I don't know if I could have managed that in Hades 1? It's tricky because I was consistently winning runs in Hades 1 when I stopped playing, but it takes so much longer to "climb the ranks" due to having to do a full clear at every Heat to advance.
And final difficulty is really going to depend on what they do with Momus Staff + Double Moonshot and Pan Daggers... are they going to weaken those weapons, or bring other weapons up to that level?
I can definitely see them removing the base special damage off of momus to make it more oriented around using the omega special. As for pan, they might just nerf the knife damage to not make it ridiculous, or they might just nerf posidon
You did not have to add 1 heat at a time in Hades 1, you could go as high as you wanted right away. The minimum heat required to earn boss rewards went up by 1 every time you collected them, but you could run more-than-required heat with no problem.
@@OrionJA I know, but if I wanted the rewards, I still needed to do X runs to get them. That's my point. It's not that I thought you weren't allowed to make the game harder than necessary for myself, it's that the reward structure required you to do more runs.
In Hades 1, to earn the 306 blood to upgrade all the weapons, you would have to do 153 full clears.
In Hades 2 Early Access, to earn the 70 Nightmare you need to upgrade all the alternate aspects currently available, you would need to do 70 partial clears. (Except there aren't enough Testaments to do that right now, which will hopefully change for the full release).
I think a good compromise would be for Hades 2 to offer Bones as a "minor reward" for Fear levels in between the "targets" they have now, and allow a player to collect all the "minor rewards" at once by doing up to the next "major target". So after getting the 12 Fear reward, you could go up to 13 Fear and get some Bones, or go up to 16 Fear to get a Nightmare + the 13-15 Bones all in one run.
When you offer a seagull your last chip: 39:59
LMAO
this run was tight! the multiple moros pin procs, and the final boss. well played!
the running joke with frinos always gets me
What’s the bit with frinos? Is it because everyone keeps on telling him that it blocks it?
Yeah, exactly -- people kept bringing up every single time, so it's become a running gag.
What!? It blocks it!?!?
@@sockpastarock7082 Yeah, Frinos (the frog) blocks Hecate's Hex. If you use Frinos and the hex that Hecate fires runs into him, it'll block it. That way, if you bring Frinos with you to the Hecate fight, and the Hex that she uses runs into him, he'll block it.
I don't blame you for not know about that (that Frinos blocks the hex), it's a pretty obscure interaction (Frinos blocking projectiles such as Hecate's hex) that very few people are aware of.
@@temtempo13 NO WAY!
@@sockpastarock7082 Oh, it's way. It's very way.
zeus chain lighting and poseidon attack is my goto on the torches. it goes pretty hard.
16:50 The time slow-down Hex has an early upgrade that removes all enemy projectiles on screen, which helps when Chronos surrounds himself with his spinning balls.
The Dark Side Hex also gives a good amount of invulnerability during Chronos' bullshit attacks in his second stage.
Apart from those two, though, the only one that has actually felt useful was the fountain-water healing Hex.
My first Chronos win was a similar build, with Hera attack, can confirm it works rather well with the attacks as they pass through enemies & it's a curse for Origination. I actually got really lucky with my cast too, got Demeter + Cyclone, but that wasn't until a bit into the run.
If you have sprint from Apollo and Hermes sprint speed, you will run faster than the returning Attacks and you will have an absolute death trail behind you.
Had a super strong Eos run with Hera and Hestia and their Duo. I didn't have any magic regen and just spammed the Hitch attack while getting monster scorch every second. Couldn't believe how powerful it was and cleared out rooms so fast. Hera might be the best overall God in the game.
not the luckiest run but holy crap was it fun to watch!! it was definitely Hera's nasty comeback that saved the last chunk of damage there at the end. the imagery of it also just makes me laugh like. Chronos died to Hera's sass
I’m curious if the torch attack is going to look the same in the final game, I love the beans but they look a little silly sometimes
I ran Eos with Aphro and Poseidon, but it heavily relies on getting the duo for the late game. I had poseidon's gain for the mana because you dont have to stop attacking for it and zeus for lightning lancer. Worked really well aside from lack of origination
Vow of panic at 1 fear is a bit ridiculous imo. You can lose a lot of time in the first few rooms if you don't get a good magick regen or a hammer that doesn't use omegas.
Nasty comeback did work at the end there. How does it work with Chronos’ insta-kill? Since it does 999 damage wouldn’t nasty comeback do thousands of damage?
I enjoy Wolf’s Howl as a movement option actually
16:57 on this point about the frog, ive had him block the sheep curse orb before, so he does do SOMETHING, just not a whole lot :)
edit: a few seconds later, someone says this in chat!
I like the hades boons before chronos but I’d love it even more if he is eventually freed and could be a option for boons during the run. Seems a shame he is still locked out in the sequel.
Also hope we free zag, and he gets a third area or something. Guess that would be too much
Purging well Vow, if added together with the Vow, that makes it so boons not selected will never appear, will be exceptionally unfun.
Hey Haelian, during the Chronos second phase where he does the 999 damage move, could you have used it to your advantage with the Hera boon to reflect back 1000%+ damage back to him and just eat a DD?
Dude Moros did some heavy lifting this run
I think changing this weapon could be as simple as allowing regen during the attack channel.
Have you tried a zero-magic zeus build for the lightning spam?
I don't know if he's already done one on stream and it just wasn't good enough to make it into a video, but I'd love to see a low Magic Zeus run.
great finish
When I attempted high fear with the Torch, I failed every time because of Mel's "sliding" animation. Wish she would just stop dead in her tracks when I press attack/special like other weapons.
Yes! You can in fact make Omega moves cost 0
I have a new mission.
thats a hell of a thumbnail
I know people say Poseidon is OP right now, but why take him for the attack with the torches? 20 damage is only like a 30% increase, compared to other gods that do way more. Apollo, for example, gives more damage and makes the attack larger to make up for Poseidon's aoe
Eos is probably my favorite weapon overall in the game. I just like it for some reason. It does need Born Gain though
While I think Moros aspect is neat, I feel like Eos aspect is just a better version of it.
Moros is just kinda klunky I feel. Eos can even do more damage to a single target from the looks of it as well.
Idk how you “fix” the klunkiness of the aspect though. Perhaps the special needs bounce between your attacks triggering them all (also help fix some special hammers being bad). Idk though.
Nice hat, Dan. Lol
Which gods are still missing in the game? I can think of Athena, Ares, and Dionysus. Any others?
Nice
Thanks for showing us the bad runs too (keeping it real :)
On the topic of hades 2 being harder or not idk if it’s just me but I am winning much more in hades 2 where as in hades 1 I won a lot only with the ranged weapons. Maybe Mel play style just fits me better
Yeah I find 2, including Chronos much easier compared to 1, at least once I got used to the magic system and dash/sprint. Unlearning dash spam helped me a lot once I did it. Must be a playstyle thing
i would really appreciate it if you could turn down gods. during runs it would allow some fun interactions
I think maybe Demeter's or Apollo's attack is probably better then Poseidon's
maybe Zeus? but he feels so weak.
Poseidon is better if you have a bunch of quick, low damage attacks since it adds a flat number on every attack. Demeter doesn't do well with damage, but the freeze can make up for it if you really need Origination online. Apollo is pretty much a safer Aphrodite. Slightly lower percentages, but you don't need to be close to the enemies. It's best if it have high damage attacks like the Axe, the daggers Omega attack, the staff's Omega attack.
I like Poseidon Attack + Zeus Static Shock
I get why they don't let you gift Echo before talking to her(her dialogue always mimics the last thing said to her so she'd have to have a bunch of code on the backend to keep up with all the different outcomes caused by that), but the current set-up is still jank
I don't see why it'd be a major problem so long as they just script dialogue that begins with Mel if she gifts her first
@@nicklemay8056 I mean, that's more writing, and that means you have to write twice the amount of dialogues too for already existing lines. Easier to just be jank.
@@haihuynh8772 not really. You just create an alternative line to start the conversation, and that's not very complicated. They do way more advanced stuff with npcs reacting to other stuff you do
@@nicklemay8056 It's not a matter of complicated. It's a matter of a shit ton of extra work just to not use an easy fix.
@@haihuynh8772 Again it's like one rework of dialogue structuring to make work, probably don't even need to record more lines you can just splice audio. Ur making it sound like this quality of life change would make everyone in the studio kill themselves
I love this weapon so much
I hate it so much
Algorithms
you did miss few gold urns for free gold to be able to buy that DD ;)
The game is unfinished and still so fun to play, once they add all the extra stuff this game will be better than Hades 1 also
i ❤️ hot moms too, haelian
People seem to be forgetting this game is in early access and compare it to Hades after it got balance patches and was ultimately released
Mr frog can block the morph on the first boss
32:47 BET YOU WISH YOU HAD A POOL OF PURGING NOW HUH DAN 😂😂😂😂😂
What is guardian?
Boss
Guardians are the bosses at the end of each biome (Hecate, Scylla, Cyclops etc). Eventually it might also include certain sub-bosses like Uh-Oh aka Tony the Tiny Vermin who have their own health bars at the top of the screen.
Oke
@@thecactusman17 Is that based on anything in particular? I'd assume "Guardians" would remain meaning "the boss you fight at the end of a region" simply because of how it would affect Judgement and Crystal Figurine if you could potentially hit an extra Guardian during your run.
@@temtempo13 Guardians are officially the bosses that have their health bar displayed prominently at the top of the screen. The actual Guardian effects currently only apply to the biome bosses even when mini bosses like Tony have the prestige health bar. Which is useful for the Charon Well boon that makes Charon effects last until you've defeated 2 Guardians
After 60 or so nights I think a lot of Hades 2 is as easy or easier than Hades with the exception of Chronos and the Fear system
really the worst weapon and especially not fun at all to play with
First ig
see my problem with this specific aspect is how exactly am I supposed to make it useful? Am I supposed to just spam my attack and hope to god the enemies come the perfect way for me to sprint and then hit them from behind? it's just silly imo, the Mel aspect is fun but this one and the other one that makes them bigger and stay longer and blow up with the special? it's just not fun.
