Love the double take. Great reaction, and I agree the guitar work is awesome. So much energy! These are not the stormtroopers most think of. They were specially trained to break the stalemate of trench warfare, and in German were called Sturmtruppen or Stoßtruppen (literally thrust troops). They were trained in infiltration and used speed as their primary method of attack. And it appears the boys had way too much fun endlessly killing their historian (Indy Neidell, host of Sabaton History channel). The man in the song, Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, has an incredible story. He served in three major wars, was wounded multiple times, survived plane crashes, escaped from a prisoner of war camp, and died in bed at 83. Stay safe, God bless, keep rocking.
Sooner or later got to do Swedish pegans. It’s one of fandom’s favorite songs. And the band pretends to hate playing it but they always do. Best version is live at wacken with Tina Gou on electric cello
After they did swedish pagans on ritz in manchester - england i needed knee surgery.. jumped around, fell over and broke my knee cap in 3 pieces. Would i do it again? Hell yeah
@@danielnystrom6117 Sorry for your injury. That's why when I went to see them in nashville I stayed away from the mosh pit; 70 is too old for that fun.
This album is my favourite after Carolus Rex. All songs are fantastic by themselves, but this album really needs to be heard from start to finish to see what a brilliant concept it is. You should also check out Sabaton guitarist Tommy Johansson. He is an amazing singer and in December he is releasing a Christmas song every day until Christmas eve. I believe you would enjoy his rendition of Angels We Have Heard Oh High
I concur, please check out Tommy Johansson he also does some great covers from Freddie Mercury for instance. ua-cam.com/video/0enEhN74lE4/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/dHAkV3tsygw/v-deo.html
Both songs are WW I stories. Although The Unkillable Soldier, Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, served in the Boer wars, WW I and WW II, the song is centered on his WW I service. His story seems so over the top, the band decided to make the video in the same manner, and have some fun with it. Crissy wanted to do Father, so I'll recommend that be the next Sabaton song you react to.
The back ground chorus in parts of this Sabaton song reminds me of the background chorus of a song from classic german metal band ACCEPT. The song was "Metal Heart".
I think it’s great that you love Sabaton so much as I do. They are fantastic musicians. I love you doing a double feature. Maybe it’s an idea that you do a reaction to a song by first showing the explanation of the song from their history channel and then follow it up with the song. Also, as I suggested before, please check out Tommy Johansson ( one of the guitar players from Sabaton) he has his own UA-cam channel and does covers every Friday and at the moment he has a Christmas calendar were he does a Christmas cover every day during the month of December.
So Stormtroopers didn't wear any of the body armor shown that was used more for Sentry Duty and by MG crews has it's very heavy , the sniper plate on the helmet alone makes it very front heavy. but they brought some new tactics to the trenches a great book to read about it "Storm of Steel" by a WW1 stormtrooper officer. so for Unkillable soldier the song only covers his time in WW1 , He lied about his age when he enlisted and fought in the 2nd Boer War (1899 - 1902) and was wounded twice in the Gut and Groin , then reenlisted for WW1 he lost his Eye & part of his ear while fighting in Somaliland 1914 after he recovered he went to the Western Front then he lost his hand and took part in many other battles he was in Poland in 1919/20 during the war between Poland & Russia and was on a train when it was attacked by Russian Cossack's he fired his pistol at them and also fell off the train got up and jumped back on and kept firing till the train could pull away. then in WW2 he fought in Poland (1939) both the Russians and Germans tried to get him before making the Romanian boarder then used a fake passport to get out before he could be arrested, Norway (1940), Yugoslavia (1941) was Captured in Italy was a POW till 1943 , China - Burma (1943-1946) total he received about 11 wounds in combat and survived 3 plane crashes. so the actor playing the main guy is Indy who does the Sabaton History Channel he also plays Lawrence of Arabia in their music video "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" you guys so need to start doing video's on Sabaton History for the songs you do.
Actually, the first units did. The concept of "Stormtroopers" first appeared in March 1915, when the Ministry of War directed the Eighth Army to form Sturmabteilung Calsow ("Calsow's Assault Detachment" or SA Calsow). SA Calsow consisted of a headquarters, two pioneer companies and a 37mm gun (Sturmkanone) battery. The unit was to use heavy shields and body armor as protection in attacks. However, instead of being used in this role, they were deployed as emergency reinforcements in France after a fierce Allied attack. In a short time they lost half their men and Caslow was relieved and replaced by Hauptmann Rohr. Rohr experimented with body armor and shields, but realized that speed was better protection than armor. The only item of armor kept was the Stahlhelm, a new model of steel helmet.
Sir Adrian de Whart from Belgium must have been the toughest ever guy ever lived. He survived 3 wars, shoot multiple times, lost a arm, an eye, survived 2 plane crashes..
Another must on your band list ...Volbeat ..... Danish by origin..... so many good tracks....for first maybe Volbeat - For Evigt (Live from Telia Parken 2017)
If you like Sabaton's guitar playing, you should check out Tommy Johansson - The Light 20th anniversary. Because Tommy is one of the guitarists in Sabaton.
Sir Adrian was fightin almost every war the Empire could offer him :P from the 2nd Boer War in 1902, to WWI, and in WWII he escaped the germans from a POW camp after a plane crash...with one arm and eye left!
Great reaction :-) You guys should really react to "Sarajevo" from the same album (talking about guitar work)!! Next week I'm going on the Sabaton Cruise, Sabaton have booked a cruising ship, so it will be 2 days of headbanging with Sabaton and other bands!! After Sarajevo, please check out "The Lion from the north" (official lyric video). BTW, you got my subscription now!!
🇫🇮 ❤you & the best way to make Sabaton even better is by multiplying. P.S. Since Xmas is getting closer, it might soon be time for this one: MAJESTICA - Ghost Of Marley (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) ua-cam.com/video/B_RKRbA9gRY/v-deo.html. It tells a story about Ebenezer Scrooge (Played by Sabaton's 2nd guitarist & Majestica's lead guitarist and vocalist, Tommy Johansson), who gets visited by the ghost of his old co-worker Jacob Marley (Played by Majestica's bassist, Chris Davis).
what was a fail and error idea to break through the trench lines of WWI, the Stormtroopers became the first in a row which is todays infantry warfare. Small Units with massive fire power, commanded by a NCO, not the HQ...first seen in 1915. Thats where George Lucas got his ideas for Star Wars from ;) The Imperial Storm Troops is historical correct, because the were the imperial german Army

I concur, especially on the Tina Guo video. Wacken 2019, when the old Sabaton members joined them and they used 2 stages.
I concur!🤘

So over the top, the vid actually doesn't give it justice. Fucker was literally unkillable.
This is an INCREDIBLE song.

Im so happy you understand the context its so fun watching

I claim the band bribed Indy with a hot nurse so they could shoot him repeatedly.
Sir Adrian made fictional superheroes look like wimps...

"I wanted to do Father" - It is an excellent choice, I hope it's on the list!

Looks like the latter hero's soul was issued a faulty ejector seat. Also, no heart stops beating around that nurse.
