"Kriegsmarine" is not another ship name, it literaly means "war-navy" which was the name of the German navy in WW2 when this happened. The Bismarck was a huge warship that, as you can hear in the radio broadcast they used in the intro, sank the British battlecruiser Hood. The Bismarck only ever did one tour as it was such a prestigious and dangerous target that the allies put everything they had available into hunting it down and making sure it was dealt with.
I'm sure someone has already suggested it but I'll suggest their song "Night Witches", the animated story video especially since it's not only the song but also gives a lot of information about the military unit this song is about.

Sabaton songs are all based on war history and they have their own history channel on You Tube explaining their songs. They tell the stories from a neutral perspective . Try En Livstid I Krig live in Gothenburg which is about the 30 year war in the 1700s. An emotional song and one to watch with the lyrics !

So happy you found another rabbit hole to explore. I love this band. I am not making any suggestions because I love ALL their music. A lot of people will mention, as I’m doing now, that the drummer Hannes van Dahl, is Floor’s husband 😂.
The guy that did the guitar solo is Tommy Johansson, he is a multi instrumentalist and has a amazing voice with an incredible range. He also did some music for Floor’s solo work, witch you will love to explore I guess. The history channel of Sabaton is also really great, they make music of historical war events and are always dressed in the same camouflage. I hope Animal is okay , missed him for a couple of videos. Love you, keep them coming. 🤘🫶🇳🇱

For me, this is not among their top ten songs, but the music video is epic. It was created by the band & a computer game company specializing in naval warfare. 2nd comment try. Lead singer Joakin Broden doesn't have a huge range, but uses every bit of what he does have. He and bassist Par Sundstrom are the primary songwriters and only origiinal members still there. Chris Rorland and Tommy Johansson on guitar, Hannes van Dahl on drums is the current lineup.
The name painted on the boat they went out on ,Primo Victoria, is the name of their 1st album, the title track is about D-Day.
The video graphics are so good because it was made in conjunction with Wargaming, the company that makes the World of Warships game.
For moe try Christmad Truce, Ghost Division, 40:1, Soldier of Heaven, or the animated story videos for No Bullets Fly and Night Witches.

And of course, Joakim, with his wonderful sense of humor, has joked during interviews that he originally came into Sabaton as the keyboardist, but since he was also the best singer out of the original bunch, they asked him to sing, "until they could find a proper vocalist. Guys, I've seen a historian expert react to this once and he said it's freakishly accurate. The HMS Hood (flagship of the Royal Navy sunk by the Bismarck) looks EXACTLY as it did in reality (seen in your reaction video at 3.20). Also, the old man seen at the beginning and at the end of the video is actually the son of a survivor of the Bismarck, holding the actual compass on which Cpt. Lindemann engraved the coordinates of the last position of the ship. Lindemann was seen standing at attention at the stern as the ship sank. The British sailors on the HMS Dorsetshire managed to save a number of survivors but then they got a submarine alert (to this day it's not clear whether it was a real alarm or a false one, the lookouts spotted something that seemed to be a u-boat that's the only certainty) and sadly they had to flee abandoning the rest in the ocean. Those who were saved later reported that the British sailors treated them like brothers.

From Nightwish to Sabaton. I quess that figures - it's Floor's husband on the drums after all.
A little correction: Kriegsmarine was the navyof The 3rd reich, not a ship. The 2 German ships that took part in this famous battle were Bismarck, ofcourse, and Prinz Eugen. They sank British flagship HMS Hood in less than 10 minutes. You can see those old scool bi-planes in the video, because all the modern ones were occupied with defending the British airspace and those were the only ones left for the torpedo bombers. That actually turned out to be good, for these old bi-planes were basically soft, canvas-clad targets and German anti-aircraft rounds just tore through them without exploding, so that they could get close and drop the torpedos, that damaged the steering systems on the Bismarck. That was the end for Bismarck, for now it could only go in straight line that took it close to English shores, where she was sank by the Royal Navy. Well, kind of. They bombarded the ship for two days, then germans desided to blow up the sip to not let it to fall into enemy's hands. They say that while sinking, Bismark was red-hot glowing from all the bombardment and was sizzeling.

Almost all of Sabaton's songs have fantastic solos by Tommy Johansson (he has a youtube channel that might interest you) and Chris Rorland. As other have probably said, Sabaton covers historical war themes, stressing the valor, sacrifice, and honor of individuals and groups. They do not take sides and do not glorify war, instead focusing on the human aspect. like Nightwish, there is no Sabaton song I have disliked. Their videos tend to be very cinematic and spare no expense. This video was made in cooperation with World of Warships, and they have some made with World of Tanks. Sabaton concerts are high energy and insane. I highly recommend any of the videos from the 2012 Polish Woodstock festival, especially 40:1. Watch 500,000 Poles go nuts. In the beginning of the Video, you can hear the Radio in the beginning, when the are driving is talking about How the Bismarck have blown the "The might cruiser Hood"
This lead to the British Navy got the message that Bismarck must be destroyed at all costs and lead to Battle of The Denmark Strait.
The Kriegsmarine was Nazi Germanys Navy.
The Video was made with help from the company behind "World of Tanks" that needed some material to their game "World of Warships". And yes Sabaton really played on a boat in the "middle of nowhere".

    "From Wiki"
    (just a short version).
Bismarck was the first of two Bismarck-class battleships built for Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine. Named after Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, the ship was laid down at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg in July 1936 and launched in February 1939. Work was completed in August 1940, when she was commissioned into the German fleet. Bismarck and her sister ship Tirpitz were the largest battleships ever built by Germany, and two of the largest built by any European power.
In the course of the warship's eight-month career under its sole commanding officer, Captain Ernst Lindemann, Bismarck conducted only one offensive operation, lasting 8 days in May 1941, codenamed Rheinübung. The ship, along with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, was to break into the Atlantic Ocean and raid Allied shipping from North America to Great Britain. The two ships were detected several times off Scandinavia, and British naval units were deployed to block their route. At the Battle of the Denmark Strait, the battlecruiser HMS Hood initially engaged Prinz Eugen, probably by mistake, while HMS Prince of Wales engaged Bismarck. In the ensuing battle Hood was destroyed by the combined fire of Bismarck and Prinz Eugen, which then damaged Prince of Wales and forced her retreat. Bismarck suffered sufficient damage from three hits to force an end to the raiding mission.
The destruction of Hood spurred a relentless pursuit by the Royal Navy involving dozens of warships. Two days later, heading for occupied France to effect repairs, Bismarck was attacked by 16 obsolescent Fairey Swordfish biplane torpedo bombers from the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal; one scored a hit that rendered the battleship's steering gear inoperable. In her final battle the following morning, the already-crippled Bismarck was severely damaged during a sustained engagement with two British battleships and two heavy cruisers, was scuttled by her crew, and sank with heavy loss of life. Most experts agree that the battle damage would have caused her to sink eventually. The wreck was located in June 1989 by Robert Ballard, and has since been further surveyed by several other expeditions..
You should really check out their History Channel, The have a Historian (Indy Neidell) talking about the story behind their songs, and Indy explains what happen, he is really amazing storyteller and they do have a video about Bismarch and how this Video was made)

You should react to Wintersun and their song Sons of winter and sun. ua-cam.com/video/Tl5T-glTdXw/v-deo.html It's a masterpiece. I think you all will appreciate it but specially Animal. The drummer is Kai Hahto. The latest drummer in Nightwish.

One of the best music video's ive seen. Hopefully seeing them live in 2023. But i can't wait till then so i'm trying to turn my car into a flying time machine.
You guys should check out their other tracks fields of verdun, soldier of heaven, and certainly check metal machine (sabatons very own tribute to metal itself)
Also look up born again from beast in black and mannequin show from h.e.a.t.

Old Metal rock head hear, one of my favorite bands right up there with Nightwish. The present drummer is married to Floor Jansen. There is no other band like Sabaton, the mantra is “ Lest We Forget” Sabaton is not political but sings about the sacrifices heroics of military history around the world. Sabaton has a History channel that explain the history of a lot of their songs. Two animated story videos I recommend because it combines the music and the history behind the songs. The two animated story videos Night Witches, and one of my favorite No Bullets Fly. ( like Nightwish they have no bad songs and my favorite is always the last one Ive listened to. I also recommend Swedish Pagans. If you type in Sabaton , Swedish Pagans, Cello yes the instrument sorry I can’t send you the link but just don’t know how. God Bless Stay Safe!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I like your choice of bands to react to and your reactions are interesting, especially as you have your own band.
A question for you, do you foresee any of this music you are listening to having an influence on your own music?
I also have a few very interesting bands to recommend to you, first - Jinjer a Ukrainian band who are progressive metal; a good start would be Pieces, the Live version. Secondly, Spiritbox again progressive metal, they are Canadian I think - a good starter would be Circle with me (look for the version with the highest views). Finally a Mexican old school rock band of 3 sisters who are still quite young (they have been playing together since the youngest of them was 9!) - a great introduction to them would be their interpretation of Metallica Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara, it’s the first track on the Blacklist album! There are plenty more I could suggest but that’s enough to start with! Good luck with your channel, you have a lot going for it!

Great to see Sabaton on your channel. They do a lot of War songs and tell another side of the story so it's pretty cool. A few songs I like is Chrismas truce during WW1 two enemies stop fighting to play Soccer during Christmas before returning to fighting the singing in the end credits is Floor. The other I love is No bullets fly also based on a true story in the end two enemies become real life friends both enjoyable to watch and hear. Thank you guys.

    Hey Souls!
Others have provided some context about this fine band...I'll simply add a suggestion -
As a crossover from Nighwish 2013, I'll offer an expanded format reaction and suggest you all do a "Wacken 3 Songs" episode with Sabaton. There are 2 or 3 years to choose from, but I think 2019 is a good choice (and you get some Tina Guo to boot!!)...
In any case, keep it up and enjoy the ride!

The thing about "the planes had props on them" is that those planes were leftovers from WWI that needed to still be used on WWII for a few reasons (they could take off from short runway aircraft carriers, Britain needed to press all available planes into battle where they could). They got a lucky hit on the Bismarck and it started leaking oil. So as it tried to flee to a friendly port to repair, the British Royal Navy was able to track it, even in sometimes unfavorable conditions. In the end, the German crew scuttled their own ship to prevent the British from being able to capture it and get ahold of some of the advance technology that had gone into the ship's construction as well as things like code machines and whatnot.
