    Why didn't you compare the TE 52 from Harley Benton, it would have beat the squire bullet hands down. For only $136.00!!

    I'm with you on the six saddles. I prefer them for intonation and action adjustment benefits

    Wouldn't comparing the Bullet to the HB TE-52 would be fairer?

      Te 52 is waaaaay better than the squier

      HB should make the TE-52 with 9.50" radius fretboard.. 13.78" radius just too flat..

    Got my HB TE-20 today, replaced the tuners and string trees because I still had some black locking tuners and string trees laying around. It plays amazing, sounds really good and doesn't have any finish flaws

    It is hard to believe how inexpensive guitars are today. I'm building a guitar from scratch and the wood alone cost me almost $60. I don't know how they're making a profit selling the Harley Benton for $80. Amazing! Thanks for the review!👍😎🎸🎶

      A little thing called the economies of scale -buy a lot, get a discount. Second of all I think they're mostly manufactured in China. Also guys like Ronald here (and myself) will buy this guitar for 80 bucks and spend another 120 on stuff just to get free shipping! Plenty of room for profit, ordered mine yesterday can't wait!

    For the difference in price you can add a pretty good pickup in the Harley Benton and that would make it a better sounding guitar.

    "Classic Vibe" Squiers are so good that no-one needs to change anything on them.

    • @drfdwf392
      @drfdwf392 4 роки тому +3

      Not anymore. The new ones made in Indonesia without brass saddles, also not the same alnico 5 anymore, etc. Classic Vibe used to be the best value for money. Not anymore. All the old reviews are irrelevant to the new classic vibes now. o please stop commenting on new videos about the classic vibe being the best. Unfortunately and sadly, not anymore. By the way the Harley Benton TE-52 NA was better than the older classic vibe which was arguably the best. So now, the Harley Benton TE-52 will destroy the new classic vibes made in Indonesia.

      So are the Harley Benton TE62 custom guitars, I have one and it's fantastic, it's half the price of a classic vibe.

    Didn't you say it stayed in tune in your other video? Why change the tuners if it stays in tune?

    All the Les Paul Firefly guitars disappeared off the Guitars Garden website. Not even listed as sold out. Just gone. I wonder if Gibson had something to do with that?

    I think the white one with semi see through is a te30 not a te20, about $20something more but still a standard series. Advertised currently as an ash body and I think that is really the only difference, other than the bridge and half drilled body.
    Note that this is just me looking at the site as it is now 10/20, I have not bought any yet. I am looking to replace a 96 Mex deluxe that was stolen, but with absolutely no budget.
    I have a stigma thing about squier, and they are not as dirt cheap as they used to be, so maybe I should pony up a little more for the TE-52 rather than 20 or 30.
    If the flat rate shipping applies to guitars as well I might grab one of the les Paul styles to 1/10 ass replace my stolen 1984 Yamaha SBG2000.
    Storage was in a family members name and their insurance decided not to cover my stuff. "Congratulations dude, you have just lost almost everything and now you have to start over on fixed income"

    This was great! Really helped me! I''m gonna buy my first Tele and it will be a Harley Benton. I had before a Fender Bullet (strat). I'll certainly enjoy changing the pick-ups and stuff. I can't wait to receive it, Thanks for this video!

    Привет из Москвы!
    Харли Бентон 20 - в условиях изоляции, самый удачный выбор не только как первая гитара, но и как гитара-донор, можно сделать немного интереснее инструмент, главное электронику всю сменить на что то более хорошее!

    For a few dollars more I recommend the Affinity Squier Tele. It has better pickups and mine was set up perfect right out of the box. I didn’t have to do a thing.

    The Harley Benton sounds dull. There's no question, if one is going to replace pick-ups and some of the hardware, better go with the cheapest good platform. Discarding better stuff makes no one happier. I like to keep my guitars as they are, though, so I would definitely spend more and get the Squier or a Harley Benton with Roswell pick-ups. These don't need replacing.
    I'll take individual saddles anytime. This is not tradition, it was just Leo Fender being a cheapskate. Tradition is passing on good practices, not keeping former limitations.

    I'm impressed with what I hear about HB guitars, but neglected in most reviews is the ENORMOUS shipping cost which (in the case of the TE-20) nearly doubles the price of the guitar, putting it in the range of the cost of a Squier ($87 for the guitar, $69 for shipping to me in TN). So really, it's $180 vs. $156.

    • @jannevaatainen
      @jannevaatainen 2 роки тому +1

      Within EU though, the shipping is around 12-20€ (don't remember exactly the current shipping costs), and it's free if you order 199€ or more worth of stuff. Thomann is an German company after all. I just ordered two Harley Benton Teles for 238€ in total, the TE-52 mainly for decoration but also some playing % recording and TE-20 for backup and because I was curious how much guitar you can have with only 79€.

    The 'thing' that's going on everywhere could take the best part of a year to sort out, before we're out of the woods. Scientists think it get a little easier during the summer but will ramp back up after that.

    You hit the nail on the head when you said that, “we’re all chasing tone”. And HB comes up short in this comparison. I absolutely agree that they’re the frontrunner when it comes to budget guitars though and I have the DC (SG copy) and it’s a great player.

    • @tierjump

      I own a Harley Benton and the tone is probably as good or better than a US made Tele. The problem here is that the reciording of the guitars os so poor that you can't her the full tonal depth and range of the guitars. Check this HB out - about $150. AWESOME.

  • @sixstringfrenzy238

    Yeah to me there wasnt a comparison. The HB doesnt sound like a telecaster. I also cant agree with what he said about upgrading the squier, its a great guitar as is.

    Monoprice guitars are very solid for the price. IMHO better than Firefly and HB.

      The Monoprice logo is hideous to me though. I think the HB's color and headstock looks perfect for an $80 guitar!

    Why can't you say COVID-19 or coronavirus instead of "everything that's going on"? They will not remove your video. And why are you spending only about 75 seconds - out of a 17 minute video - playing the guitars?
