Good to see that the quality control was passed by "Leo". I own six Artist guitars myself, love 'em to bits (except for the bass, but you can't win 'em all), the bassist in my band has at least five Artist instruments, and you know what? Every single one that we both own was passed by this mysterious "Leo". He must be the hardest working person in China. I've got this TC59 and it's astonishingly good. I was fortunate enough to get a lefty version in the website's "bargain bin" and it cost just over 200 bucks. Sheer madness. Such an awesome sounding instrument that plays great and looks fine as well for practically no money. Good onya Leo!
Love my TC 59! Getting a lot of use out of it live and in the studio. I bought mine second hand for $200 off a guy who’d really looked after it, unbelievable value! I’ve just ordered their 4/4 violin based on how much I love this guitar. Apparently great quality for a learner violin, onya Artist!
Mine arrived today with lightning speed! Delivered on 3rd business day over the Xmas period - crazy fast. And, better guitar than expected. I can't rave about these enough to do them justice. Mine weighs in at 4.3kgs so not light but if you want light, pay $2k and get a USA made where the cost of tonewood is no issue. As a studio player, I like the weight and have always preferred guitars with a bit of weight to them. Pickups sound fantastic. They have a very warm humbucking tone which offsets the brightness of the tele style guitar and then works out perfectly balanced with the split coil modes which are more useful than I could have expected - it's a genuine single coil tone, not a thin, lifeless, useless tone like most guitars have. It played well straight out of the box but I gave it a thorough setup, fret polish, neck shim etc and it now plays at pro level. The action is phenomenal - how low do you want it?? The hardware is great quality for the price but if you want to upgrade with Gotoh etc, I reckon everything should line up perfectly. Truly, hats off to Artist Guitars. I have no idea how you guys can do these at such a crazy price. I hope and believe you will sell thousands. Jon @ Ethereal Guitars.
I dunno, those Bull-buckers sound so good when they've got both coils working, I doubt if I'd ever split 'em! That's one great-sounding guitar right there. If I was in the market for a Tele, I'd snap that up in a heartbeat! Thanks for a very thorough demonstration too, Brett. Terrific playing!!
It sure is a great guitar. My brother has this guitar and the pickups and just whole quality of the guitar is awesome... and I have two Epiphone Les Pauls, a Fender (mim) player series aswell as two Dean ML guitars..it's easily up there with all of them,if not better in ways. Iam thinking about putting these pickups in my Epi 60s Standard that I am in the process of stripping back, staining the natural wood and ofcause changing the pickups. Just too make it more unique and custom really haha
Finally got to hear this thing, what a beast! Between Artist Guitars and Nux, the competition has to be pulling their hair out lol. Awesome review as always, you're a great player mate!
Got my TC59 last week. It was well setup, has great tones, locking tuners and pretty much noiseless so I couldn't ask for more from a guitar costing only $269. Frets needed a polish but that was all. Intonation was spot on as well. No regrets - Good work Artist. Oh yeah, I also bought the Creme 20R amp on behalf of a mate at a discounted price. Loud, plenty of headroom, effects loop so a good pedal platform. Edgy sounding amp, not the cleanest of clean but vintage 30 speaker needs breaking in so no final verdict yet
I have one of these... a ridiculously good guitar for the money. The Bullbucker pickups are one of the best high output HBs at any cost and as Brett pointed out, when the coils are split they still have power and a usable tone. Great review too BK. OH!... BTW... Brett, check out the new Artist ST62, another absolute winner!
Cheers, Rick. Yes, I was talking to them about the ST62 only this afternoon. As soon as they can spare one they'll be sending it down and a demo will ensue promptly. Cheers!
Hey Brett, great vid...i actually seen it ages ago,a few times. My bro got this guitar some years ago now, maybe 4ish and yeah great guitar! Iam finally gonna get my own very very soon. I actually can't wait hey. Would be pretty rad if you did a follow up vid of this guitar I reckon,as i read another comment saying the same.....hope you kept your word and didn't sell it haha🇦🇺🤘🇦🇺 *Edit...You definitely weren't boring us bro and definitely sounded loud 👍
so glad i bought one of these in the latest batch,,,such great pickups and nice chunky neck ,,i am so impressed im selling my epi LP ,,,terrific guitar
Holly molly there are some sweet tasty tones coming from that guitar and amp, that my ears pricked up and went to the website, its looking ultra bang for buck wtf!!!!
Just got mine. After spending some time setting it up and a quick fret polish it plays really well.. I'm not convinced on the tuners and will be replacing mine... possibly thinking if changing out the bridge pickup for some thing a bit more focused.. The coil tap option is cool but my tone knob was put in crooked! I'm thinking of planing off 10mm from the body. Crazy heavy 🤣 but great value!!
@@goog646 no not yet, but I saw a guy who used a 20mm spade bit and just drilled loads of holes on the back of the body.. I think I would still prefer the planing option tho. I bought a 3inch wide strap which definitely seems to help ha ha. Nice neck on this guitar..
@@kymodo817 yeah I drilled holes in a Greg Bennett telecaster years ago with a spade bit. I was thinking this time I might do a combo of planing and drilling lots of small holes in a neat grid. I don't have the guitar yet. Any chance you could please tell me what the nut width of yours is? It's listed as 43mm (which I need), but I've seen a photo of one that's 40.5mm.
I like the sound of that for the price. Not sure about the middle section. But for that price I'm not sure I could get that fussy. That was beautiful demo and I can just feel the potential
I live close to the shop / warehouse in Sydney so paid up up front and reserved one. I was lucky enough to be able pick mine up from the shop and choose the one I liked the look and feel of. Great guitar for $249 Australian. Like you Brett, mine is also staying put. Thanks Artist Guitars..👍🎸
Glad they moved to modern individual saddles. I suggested that when their first tele came out. Vintage saddles are a nightmare to intonate if you're picky.
artist guitars are indeed great quality I can say the grungemaster is fabulous and sounds amazing but for their 7 string " spiritus " model which I got recently I found the pickups need changing and even the electronics ( pots / toggle switch ) not trying to change your mind but that model I think they missed the mark
@@Add_Account485 I ended up buying one and then another one turned up in the bargain bin...so I bought that too. I'm toying with the idea of turning one of them into a candy apple red blacktop style tele . I may even buy a third and do a Peavey T60 thing with it...then there's always chambering (".)
Brett great video as usual. What do you think of the humbuckers in the tele. How does it compare to the single coils. I was thinking of getting some P90 buckets in my tele.
At least it has a half-authentic bridge - an ashtray backing. Thats more than fender do on their player HH Telecaster. But I would like to see a mini humbucker in the bridge, angled like a traditional tele's single coil bridge pick-up. Ultimately, I think it should be SH. Traditional single coil ashtray bridge, humbucker in the neck. I don't know for sure, but I feel the telecaster's signature twang is derived from the original bridge setup. Maybe you can tell me. Do HH tele's, or t-style guitars, still have that tele twang? Cos if I end up pulling the trigger on a Telecaster, it will be for its signature sound, not its look (They ugly!).Even playability is kinda neutral with a tele. Fenders are quite comfortable for me... but they still could benefit from upgrades (bevelled heel joint, for instance). There are more "playable" guitars. In fact, I like a jazzmaster better visually, it has equal playability - perhaps greater, due to its seated design). But, it sounds too similar to my strat. So you see, the tele sound is critical to my decision to get one or not. Does the HH T-style guitar sound like traditional tele (either SS, or SH)?
With a what , sounded like u said case, in the states that dont happen . Looks like bridge pup is 90dg to strings. Lk that. Teles hi end gets thin. Goin to their web site, thx

Anybody........why a 14” radius neck when 9.5” is pretty much standard with Squire/Fender ? I’m asking as a rhythm player who’s never played a 14” .
Are they serious? How does anyone produce a guitar like that and a case for $300? And make profit? I suspect we are all going to buy one!!
With the American Ash Body - how heavy is it? Would you class this as a light or heavy guitar (I'm in the market for a light tele)
It's fairly heavy. A lot heavier than my Ibanez anyway.
So the pickup splitter thingy turns the Bullbucker pickup into a single coil to sound like a real telecaster?
Yes it has coil split and no it doesn't sound like a traditional Tele when split.
Is this a paid promotion or out of the goodness of your heart?
Mine just arrived this morning and I chose the tweed case as well!! how cool is that?
Is it very good in the clean ??
Sold out in the US already.
I check the UK site looks like their not avaiable , converting to British Pound they are only £133. pounds incredible value,
heavy sucker but damn mine had guys asking about it,and im a hack player
How do these stack quality wise up to a Squier I wonder?...seems people are pretty stoked with Artist Guitars at the mo'
They're better, most of these artist guitars compete with models 3 or 4 times the price

What is the gadget in the back with two antaennas?
Samson receiver.
Wonderful guitar, but the weight!
what is the weight please, the site says 4kg, but thats a typo
Sounds better than the new Jimmy Page Tele!
Brett luv your vids👍
Hey Berg's, it seems that almost everything that the Artist Company produces down in your neck of the woods is quite good and has a poor man's appeal.
