Thanks so much for this tutorial, I followed it step by step and it all worked perfectly... Until I had to fit it back into the tank. I hadn't taken a photo before removal, so was putting it back in the tank in the incorrect position. After playing around a bit I got it right. I'd advise anyone doing this to take a photo before removal; and note how the float sits in the tank, so they don't end up in my earlier situation, where the float was jamming against the hose in the tank. Also gloves are necessary for this job. I didn't wear any and ended up cutting my hands on the sharp metal housing.
Thanks again for posting this. Much appreciated.
I'm guessing that the fuel pump didn't need replacing. I will replace both on my ride at the same time. Awesome video because it shows how to replace two important parts.
I can't stress this enough...BEFORE you remove the fuel filter, CLEAN ALL the dirt, dust, and debris around the entire area. Basically, eALL surfaces that are visible through the fuel filter access port. Us a paintbrush, vaccum, and some rags.
The LAST thing you want is the dorst to go into you fuel tank and cause a whole bunch of problems, premature fuel pump failure, clogged fuel filter/ system, rust in the gast tank, etc. A ton of money and time wasted. Let's not mention MAJOR headaches.
Also, just buy a drop in Fuel pump. It comes 100% assembled with all new components. Less chance of things breaking when transfering over parts.
What is the already assembled fuel filter/ fuel pump assembly called? Or do u know its part number?
Extremely helpful, thank you very much! ❤️❤️
Just took my pump out because of an annoying ticking noise and low MPG, the filter was totally blocked, car only has 89k miles on it, 100 percent would advise people to change it as its a cheap part and can probably sort alot of performance and silly noise issues out.
Thanks. Great help.
Thank you, very informative
Hey you got a typo in your title
Did you see a difference in performance after replacing filter
Good job 👏 you
❤what about the pump you're not going to change it 😊
Great job! I have a fuel smell inside the interior when driving on mountains roads. Can it be big O ring on the top of the fuel pump assembly? It never happen on flat highways only when going decline..
@bosmanragga51 for anyone interested and facing similar issues, it is just the flaps inside the rear bumper which are open all the time on my euro model (lexus has an updated part for those). I fixing it by just adding some tick sponge inside of those flaps to stop the exhaust gasses getting inside the cabin.
Hey guys! I have a 08 IS250 that’s having some issues. The car is cranking, but no start. Eventually after 2nd or 3rd attempt, it officially starts. Once it starts, theres a deep rumbling sound underneath the car. No check engine light was on, but still scanned it either way and came out with 1 code which was Intake Air Temp Sensor was high. So I replaced the MAF sensor. Checked the throttle body, air filter. All were clean. Any ideas whats wrong with it?
Remove the back seat and listen to how the pump works - it can transmit vibrations through the fuel lines to the entire body
Power tools and fuel vapour don't like to mix 😮
😮made it too complicated
Ghonde Auto!
Lexus quoted me the price of a kidney for this job. This video saved me. Could not have done it without this! Thanks!
