Ignore the yellow brake line clamp, I was waiting on a new caliper to be delivered while I was doing the fuel filter.

Thanks for the video! But why didnt you screw the bolt from the bottom up, so nextime just undo the bottom part without the cap that is screwed to the chassis?

Can someone help? My 07 is220d with engine replaced by Lexus in 2018 is facing a weird issue. It stars and drives very well infact the engine is water dropping but after a few miles as the car gets warm, it goes into limp mode and restarting the car fixes the issue for another 5/6 miles and it happens again. I've now got the EGR cleaned and the fuel filter replaced. Any suggestions?? Please oh and no warning lights what so ever.

I’ve changed the filter on the car and after starting it with the prime function a lot of diesel poured from the filter housing until I stopped the car . You have any tips?
Glue a nut to the top and put the screw in from the bottom so u never have to take it off again

i took the filter off with the top part still on the car , but the ring wont screw all the way up now . any ideas ?
Drill that stupid screw out and use zip tie to lock all in place
Hi mate,sounds llke the fuel pump is a lot less hassle to do then the filter 😂 im getn a p1229 code meself,so do ye think its the fuel pressure regulator or pump ? My lexus starts every time,then revs drop,engine shakes,nearly cuts,then does sometimes cuts ,wont rev past 2500,then nornal again ! Then repeats,any idea ?

No, just make sure if you go at it yourself that you have a fully charged battery & cycle the key on and off in between. Don't crank for too long at any one time.
The fully charged battery is to allow the engine to turn over as fast as possible making it easier to start.

@@GerardBurkeBurkesGarage Gerard i think in the cockpit there is an actual button to prime it. You know under the wheel were you can set your tacho and speedometers little orange ring? You can prime the system there that way.

How long did it take you?
Too long Shane ha ha not a nice filter to change. Off the top of my head over an hour anyways but sometimes as time passes I tend to thing jobs were easier so could have been closer to 2. If pipes and bolts remove easy your time will be a good bit quicker.

Took mine to my garage for a full service. They said they couldn't remove it as they feared breaking the plastic cover...
What are you going to do now, Go to another garage? I am sure you want to get it changed.

So a year later I find myself searching for this same issue. Still not changed. Car running off, cutting out etc. Had 4 injectors changed recently. Where’s your garage Gerard...?
Well the video shows everything you already knew before.
The most interesting part would be, how you got the complete thing out? And how you got the hoses and clamps back on afterwards, since there is little to no place, especially for the hose facing away from you.
Care to do a second, more in-depth video maybe?
I understand what you mean, I don't have a go pro (to clamp on) and I did not have anyone to hold the camera while I did that. A more in depth install would have helped more, but I put up the best video & info I could with what I had.
I think it will help a lot of people to complete this job (not everyone would know there is a securing screw stopping the filter cap removal etc..)
If the opportunity comes up in the future I will.
You need the car to be lifted, so the wheel IS hanging.
There is a bar with two bolts that doesnt in the axle, if You remove It, the wheel Will lower a bit more.
Then, remove the bolts un the filter, remove the circlips and rotate the case
I changed the circlips for metal flanges with screws to make It easier
