In recent months ordinary Greeks have watched their lives disintegrate. Everyday life in the country has become a struggle, so much so that even those in the middle classes are relying on handouts. "We cannot put up with anymore demands. This is not tax, this is extortion", says a Greek drinks distributor. In a typical shopping quarter in Athens, shops are mainly shut because people can't afford to buy anything. Making a daily living becomes harder even for those who were careful. But somehow there is still optimism, as well as a determination to pull together. "In the difficult times, the Greeks are always united. I think the same will happen again now."

What the narrator says is wrong. There were no homeless people in Greece. They started appearing before and during the crisis

      Newsflash:
There are homeless people everywhere. The only thing that changes from place to place on this planet is the degree of homelessness. There will always be a lot of homeless people as long as we have central banks making sure we all work for FIAT currency that is not real money. What point is there to go to work for a reward that a privileged group can receive without putting in the work?!?

@@DIVISIONINCISION we never were truly socialist.i think that new open democratic policies will bring Greece back economicaly.but the first thing that needs to change is the society.the gen z in Greece are just lazy People who retire at 30 .this needs to change.i was born in 2006 and yet i know what it is to work hard .i have worked myself.i have seen others work hard .those are few people.but we need the general population to be like that.economicaly we could propose to the EU to devaluate the euro as a union in order to fit the interests of Greece. However this act could have long lasting effects on the economy meaning that the euro would no longer be bound to the dollar.so we would truly have a European economy.if the people accept that we can in 10 15 years to pay off the dept

The price of items go up, the money loses its value but a chicken is always worth a chicken and a liter of milk is alway worth a liter of milk. Moral of the story: Invest in chicken and milk, is tax free too. And what are you gonna do with money anyways? Buy chicken and milk. I remember a time when you didn’t need a cell phone now you can live without one.

Greek people are very proud people and its difficult for them to go and get hand outs. And when you put a camera there it makes it even more difficult for them. Until the financial problems in Greece there were no or very little soup kitchens and social service programs.

Corruption in Greece? Where? Have you ever seen a black road in America? No one calls it a black road. So why would someone call Greece corrupt? It is illogical. What the IMF calls corruption is blue sky, white seagulls and black roads in Greece.

Crisis in Greece is the result of fighting for independence from the Ottoman Turks. Greeks have shown they have failed to manage their country independently. If Greece was still under the Ottoman rule, they would have never experienced financial crisis.
