Love this review mostly because I’m Arai Corsair X helmet owner and was looking to try something different with Simpson as it has a huge following in the Harley-Davidson community.
But I think im pretty spoiled with the Arai helmet but it is a $1k helmet lol. I would love to see your review on the Arai Corsair helmet on the Harley.

The interior visor hit my nose a bit also. Barely but enough to bother me. I removed it and ground the nose cut out with a Dremel tool with a sanding disc. Problem fixed. Really like the helmet.

Lol unfortunately that’s the way it’s looking right now! I have an agv I’m trying too and unfortunately it’s too close to my chime and nose but otherwise it’s awesome! I can’t decide between going with the scorpion or trying out a bell next go around

Testing a Simpson after an Arai… damn that’s tough. Arai is by far the best mass production helmet brand you can expect. In France we love Arai and in particuliary the SZ-R VAS (RAM-X in US) helmet. I plan to buy one for my Harley btw. If you need a cool and top quality full face helmet, go with Hedon Heroine if it’s legally possible.

This video is as close to 100% as one can be. Would i buy it again, no. Is it the perfect swiss army knife for me to rely on, yes. Im glad i have it.

@@RidinDad no internal visor is easy enough. Just don't deploy it. But I'd take the rare opportunity to use a Dremel and make it work for you. I wish mine came down far enough for me to do a little shaping. But... (Shark Evo)

The AGV sportmodular is the LIGHTEST of the light Modular’s. It’s so light it’s insane almost as light as the k6.. I’ve been sticking to AGV line cuz it’s super comfortable and soft and fit my head correctly.. if anyone wants the lightest modular check AGV out. I really wanna try a Simpson. I used to hate the look but it’s grown on me forsure
Yes, I bought myself the K-6 to try out and it was crazy how light weight it was. The only negative of it was that even though it fits my head and my cheeks perfectly fine, the chin bar touches my chin and nose and it’s too close for me to comfortably use it in safely. Use it so unfortunately the K-6 and I’m sure most of their lineup is out for me.
I also live in SW Florida and I currently ride a 2022 Road Glide ST. I use a Shoei GT Air and am looking for a new helmet that flows alot of air. Thinking about an HJC RPHA 11 pro, was looking at the Simpson Mod Bandit until you said the ventilation sucked. Do you have any recommendations for down here? I am torn between another full face, or maybe going to a modular. Keep up the good work, love the videos!
Arai Corsair x flows the most air I’ve ever tried and is the comfiest. Hands down the best helmet I’ve ever used. However…..for about 3/400 bucks less the scorpion exo r1 air in normal or carbon fiber is an amazing helmet. It flows good air. Comes with two visors and a pin lock insert and is super lightweight. Great quality and comfy

Great review! I'm planning on buying this helmet but can't decide on size. According to their chart I'm a large(23") but I keep seeing that it runs large and to go a size down. What was your head measurement to fit the medium? Thanks!

I was not a modular helmet guy until I acquired a lightly used Shark. Now, I reach for it more than any other helmet I have. I don't think there is one perfect helmet for everyday (in Ohio), but if I had to choose one helmet and one helmet only, so far it's my Shark. After probably 6 years, I'm ready to buy another road helmet and I'm definitely looking for a modular that beats the shark. Problem is that none of the other modulars allow use of BOTH visors while the chin bar is up. Plus, Shark paid close attention to aerodynamics when the chin bar is up. These 2 features are totally missed with all other modulars. So I sacrifice a bit of weight and full-faced aesthetic. Yes, angles look sharp. But eggs are round for a reason.
I’ve not had a shark yet. There’s something about them I don’t like. But as long as you like it that’s what counts!
Came here from the Ruroc review, very surprised by this one. I went through the same thing as you; had to exchange my first Mod Bandit due to sizing. Both of the helmets I got had atrocious build quality. Plastic surrounds on the vents loose, entire chin bar had flex like it was made out of cheap plastic, chin bar difficult to close, definitely not worth $500. I ended up with the Neotec 2 and it feels like a Cadillac.
Wow that’s crazy man I’m sorry you had that experience. I had a neotec 2 years ago. Quality for sure. Just don’t vent for crap lol

Not one that I’ve tried personally. People love the neotec 2 from shoei but I felt it didn’t ventilate good at all. So I wouldn’t recommend it for fl. I got rid of mine in 2 months. Honestly this one might be one of the best bets for modular use in Florida due to good venting

@txgal99 yeah but it vents great everywhere else and with a modular if you tilted up when it’s really hot, obviously that will vent more than any other option of any other helmet. I hear that HJC has a Modular RPHA helmet that has been getting good reviews but I can’t tell you anything for certain because I’ve never used it.

Which helmet is better for long, fast speed rides? The Simpson mod bandit or the Ruroc atlas 4.0? Im trying to get a new helmet and can’t decide
Neither in my opinion. The Simpson is really loud and not incredibly aerodynamic. The ruroc is more quiet but sucks for aerodynamics and is super big and feels heavier. I would say scorpion exo r1 s, and arai Corsair x are too much better options with the scorpion being under $500 and the arrive being under a thousand. I’m sure there are others that are better also but those are the two that I would say are much better just based on my use ability. I also say the a GVK6 is an amazing helmet and is incredibly lightweight and comfortable as well as aerodynamic. For me, it was too shallow and touched my chin mouth and nose the entire time so I could only use it for a few days.

Hey brother sorry to bother but wanted to ask your opinion on what size to get. My head measures 58.2 cm around and not sure if I should get the medium or the small due to hearing that the mod bandit runs big. You think I should get a medium or size down?

Yeah my wife has the r1 in white. I am impressed with it a lot. I’m debating on trying out the shoei rf1400 or just doing the scorpion for myself now

I’m assuming you’re asking how it would compare? I’ve never physically tried the rpha line from hjc. I had a budget hjc years ago that I was happy with for the price. I don’t know how it would compare to this helmet.
