This is Ali Akbar Khan's Raga. Nobody else can play this like him. I have several recordings of this Raga of him. I think the best one for capturing the soul of this Raga is his performance at the Ramkrishna Mission in Calcutta in the 80s.
I disagree,no one made mistake,Swapan ji was spot on and Khan Saheb demonstrated "Anaghat",in the next few cycles Khan saheb constantly displayed "Atit" and "anaghat " simultaneously. But your detailed listening is superb,a listener should be like that only.
J N Ponda ### aka Jashwat Narsidas Ponda Prop. The Phoenix Library Pune 411 030,### Thomas Hardy! The author was always right. Said he, "Life is always full of coincidences, accidents and chances."! By chance, a Hirabai Barodekar Thumri hits my chochlea with 10 on the Richter! On the street, or from a room. And I am hooked to it for life! Like cocaine! I was hooked to this Chandranandan for life for 25 paise! I will tell you how. In Pune, there was a gramophone record shop with a most unique collection. The name of the shop was "Dear Vihar". The owner, Risbud, played the record of our choice for 25 paise. I heard this record there again and again .. It was a unique Music Library in Pune. The stock of HMV should have been preserved for posterity. But apparently, the stock was damaged, stolen and dissipated in the most tragic way. Kishor and Sudha, recently Times of India reprted that our Phoenix Library had the most unique stock in the whole of India. It is my misfortune now to see the stock being dissipated, stolen and being destroyed! Books have to be dusted, cleaned and bound again and fumigated over and over again! But, then, sich is life! Peerless rendition ... the subtle phrases were embroidered with purity of musical insight.
