    My first mods to mine were slightly wider wheels, coilovers, an exhaust, and dropping it by about 3-4 inches and it made the handling sooooooo much better, especially with high performance tires. Good tires make a big difference

Currently have 245 Michelin PS4's but even they are arguably too grippy for the current setup on roads. Car was amazing on track with various track day tyres but it was just way too much grip for a road car with around 200hp. I'm selling the car though as it's just gotten very boring. Got my GT86 one day before Christmas last year and its awesome to drive while it teaches you alot about driving. Already drove 1000km with it and its awesome.
    Of course on straight roads, the high powered sport cars are always faster but as as soon as insane curves are included, you beat 10x more expensive cars if your driving skill is superior which will take years. GT86 is easy to learn, hard to master.

    • @Tombi432
      @Tombi432 2 місяці тому

      @@Justin_BrunskyyWhen I bought mine, the test drive was 2 hours long! It was a private seller who has quite some racing experience and who learned the respect of the street the hard way. Make sure that the maintenance schedule is complete + do an additional check by professional car mechanics. Mine had already, 170000 km on it which is a state where maintenance is everything/what was done, what needs to be done.
      I prefer to avoid commercial dealer as they like to lie to you and also the price is higher. With private seller you also get in touch with nice people as the GT86 community is pretty awesome. What I observed is that each car attracts different kind of people. GT86 drivers definitely are more on the intelligent side. Would never do that with BMW or AUDI.

When you arrive at a mountain road you have the handling to make it exciting. We drive down dirt roads overtaking Landcruisers, much totheir disgust. This is one of the most capable cars I have ever driven. If your idea of performance driving is how hard you can hold down your right foot you have completly missed the point.

    In Asia,we don't care about speed or 0 to 60 but rather manevuanarebality as we usually do drift competitions so speed won't do much and this care is one of our favourites to use(plus it's not like we can't tune it to have 1000 hp)

    Absolutely, to me this is truly the best car in the world, nothing comes close to it's size, weight and most importantly fun.
    I swear by this car, I would marry this car, and I absolutely adore this car with every single strand of my body and every single drop of my soul, my love for cars truly is single handedly held together for my love for fun. And nothing can defeat a GT 86 for that (Although, I don't know about modern MX-5s and that, I think, is the only car that could hold a candle to the GT 86. Sure your Ferraris and Lambos are awesome, and I love them! But truthfully, I would take this car over them (perhaps with a tune and an exhaust) due to the dynamics.
    And the people that say "tHe 86 iS sL0w, sO iT's bAd" are the ones responsible for killing fun cars, for killing enthusiast cars and for killing affordable cars in favor of whatever thing can do 0.0000000001 second faster 0-60.

    I disagree at 0:33. I bought one recently, and as a daily it is a painfully slow car! If you're going to modify it with things like a tune and exhaust, the car suddenly isn't affordable, especially if you have to do it right for any kind of smog testing. Then insuring a modified car? May as well have bought a lambo lol (yes that's a slight exaggeration)

      My wife has a 2016 Mini Cooper S. Subjectively it feels quicker in the traffic light drag race (once the tyres get traction). The other day I was alongside the same model Cooper S, supposedly 1sec faster 0-60 and the the driver was trying. I thought, I'm going to try an keep up at the next set of lights just to see what the difference is. There was hardly a cigarette paper in it. I was surprised. How when it comes to driving the twisties, there's no comparison as to which is the most fun. I've had my GT86 for 6.5 years, I'm usually thinking about what to get next after 2. It hasn't crossed my mind. Still loving it.
