Shared this with my Dad a few years ago. We were one tick on the viewer count. We enjoyed it. Now he's gone, but our time together watching this and smiling is still recorded in some minuscule fashion.
Andrew Bird isn't just a singer, just a musician, just a kick-arse whistler... He's a dancer. A beautiful dancer that uses his erratic motion to keep time and his every step to create loops and chains of notes to infinity. He dances with his fingertips across the instruments, or with his lips to sketch out the quiver of his whistle. He knows how to dance with his own mind, and how to take yours along with.
if there was an Olympics for music back in the day when the Olympics started, old man Bird would be a serious contender for an olive wreath! this is so beautiful!
I've loved Andrew Bird for years, but I've never seen him perform. His music is beautiful. And it doesn't hurt that he's not too shabby looking himself.
I'm just incredibly jealous at those three people sitting at the corner and listening to his sublime musicscape! How can they keep that oh-so-quiet manner without showing muchc emotion?
at age 24 i've started to become detached with a lot of the music i grew up with. i only started listening to this guy's work in the last year or so, but Andrew Bird saved my faith in music.
THIS is why I love live music! It is too easy to take for granted what we hear when a recording slips through our ears as only so much background noise. But to SEE and EXPERIENCE the workings of a creative mind and the process by which that sound is made is what really lets us separate the fluff from the good stuff. Top shelf work here. Kudos, Mr. Bird, and thank you.
Andrew Bird has to be the epitome of the word "Troubadour". There have been several over the years, but I believe Andrew is at the pinnacle. I've never heard finer than this song.
I just stumbled on this, and it blew me away. I havent heard music this beautiful and original for a looong time, its so refreshing. Ive been enlightened! Thank god for Andrew Bird!
Seriously.. I watch this all the time. I'm just blown away. Everything about this is pure beauty. From his concentration, head bobs and incredible accuracy. i cant even... first it wanes and then it waxes.
I'm sitting here, almost crying at the sheer beauty of this song, when I see that UA-cam has suggested "Party In the USA" as another video to watch. And all I can do is laugh, because if Miley Cyrus were a minute, Andrew Bird would be an eternity.
. . . looking at amazon's "recommendations" Andrew Bird was recommended because I own Bjork and Rickie Lee Jones, so I was intrigued . . . . . now I'm blown away. Amazing!
THANK YOU AMERICAN EXPRESS! I have been listening to andrew for a while and I am so pumped that american express is using Tenuousness in their newest commercial
Time stopping greatness ✨ Just discovered this music from Andrew Bird at the end of the movie Crazy Stupid Love. The live performance is taking it to the stars.

I've lost track of how many times I've watched this
Same. I realize I commented 10 years ago.

Words cannot describe the beauty that is this man's music.

Still amazing in 2021. It'll still be amazing in 2022 and beyond. So creative.
Watched this with you a few years ago, Dad. Seeing it again brings me back to that. Miss you.
This man is amazing I've watched this 100 times but everytime it seems to be the first
Folk is Gods favourite kind of music
God who? Maybe folk is just an incredible genre. We don't need to attribute or associate everything with mythology, now.
I come back to watch this video at least once every couple of weeks. His style is just too awesome to ignore.
Why in the world does this not have more views?!?!?! THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!

Andrew Bird has to be the epitome of the word "Troubadour". There have been several over the years, but I believe Andrew is at the pinnacle. I've never heard finer than this song.

Once in a century someone like this comes along. Words cannot do him justice
This man can do more with two instruments and a few pedals than can a lot of multi-member bands today. Breathtaking talent.
Saw him live a week ago... Spectacular but really wish I heard this. Will go to every close performance until he does 😆
i found this on stumbleupon and am now in love with these music.

He’s so amazing live.
So glad this is back. I've had this song on repeat every night to fall asleep to for so long.
this is an amazing perfomance.
I'm sitting here, almost crying at the sheer beauty of this song, when I see that UA-cam has suggested "Party In the USA" as another video to watch. And all I can do is laugh, because if Miley Cyrus were a minute, Andrew Bird would be an eternity.
I love how he was playing all the instruments heard. Most famous artists can't even play one.
Me too. This is probably the best version of "Tenuousness" I've heard.
Absolutely love this, this is proper music :)
Definitely one of my favorite songs ever, especially this version of it. The whistle hook(s) in the middle get me every time. =)

I always looked for this, such a joy seeing it back!
If I could perform at a tenth of the ability of this man I wouldn't be complaining to anyone.
. . . looking at amazon's "recommendations" Andrew Bird was recommended because I own Bjork and Rickie Lee Jones, so I was intrigued . . . . . now I'm blown away. Amazing!
