It is great to be 57 years old and yet I feel like a 19 year old kid discovering Sonic Youth in 1982 ,or Johnathan Richman and The Modern Lovers in 1977,or Pavement in 1991.I can BARELY suppress the urge to get up and Pogo.7 minutes and 18 seconds of pure bliss.
+dennis chary I am 53 and i LOVE this band and this vid really sums up why. Totally charged. Who ever said that great music has not been made since the 70's must be brain dead.
+Krasnaya Voronushka I do get tired of critics overpraising Led Zeppelin,or Pink Floyd,or The Doors, among many other "classic" icons at the expense of more modern artists who have often eclipsed their 70's influences.
I love the spazzing bass player juxtaposed with the 1000 mile stare drummer. AWESOME fucking band. Seeing them this summer... FINALLY! I will be stoned & well-fed.
Out of key? This is the real deal. His guitar is in an open tuning. You're allowed to break the rules when you know what your doing. This is cool. Enjoy.
If you are a donkey You are a donkey no matter if Open or standard tuning. I like this band but saying that guitarrist is the real deal is bullshit. You want cromatism and out of key craft listen to Mansur Brown. You are welcome
@@federicoperez4373 dude take one listen to the lyrics, the bassline is one note, the rhythm is one chord, the riff is just repeated throughout the whole song, the studio version is also 'out of tune', its meant to be that way..
You nailed it Bobby. Was the same for me - first couple of seconds in I could tell this was a keeper in my library. Nice to hear more old guys like us still rock. I'm 60 and lovin' it!
first heard this band in wifes car shes got sirus radio loved it in seconds so raw melodic great sounding guitars almost like the band television i was in a band in the 80s did originals to my surprise sounded simular, well im glad was tuned in that day in my wifes camry or might have missed this awesome band thanxzdl song right away 57 years old still rock n roll
Steve Rothery of Marillion played a Squier Strat for years and he's one of the best guitarists in the world. Don't knock it ;-) I bought his stage #2 guitar and sleep with it, lol.

I have a Bullet strat like the blue one but mine was black bought it new at a pawn shop in 2000 to 2002 it was my first electric and I still have it it is a good playing guitar and I like the neck and head on it and light body I have modded mine of course.
This is terrific. Shades of Jonathan Richman with a bit of Neu! / Porcupine Tree thrown in. What kIds and guitars were made to do. Lovely stuff. They've certainly got something though only a few tunes on the albums come anywhere near the sheer vibrancy that this track portrays so eloquently.

My favourite version of this song
Out of key? This is the real deal. His guitar is in an open tuning. You're allowed to break the rules when you know what your doing. This is cool. Enjoy.
What? He still gets out of tune a lot of times in spite of having an open tuning

The most underrated song of 2013
Wish I'd known it in 2013 - only discovered Parquet Courts in 2019 a few months before seeing them live

Nice. Original. I like it. A lot.
I sold my blue fender squire because I didn't think it was cool. How wrong was I?

That bass player is far out. They sound like a fusion of The Fall and The VU.
Loved The Falls bass player SO grungey / Check out the bass in 'Blindness'

Flaming Flashback he sure is. Reminds me of Graham Maby when playing for Joe Jackson 'I'm the man'
