I cry every time I hear this song. In loving memory of my sweet Alabama rescue dog Sally. I think of her motto being “home is wherever I’m with you” since she’s moved with us so many times. Wherever she is is home for us, and wherever we are is home for her. Home isn’t the same without her and I miss her every day.
My husband and I drove the whole of Belgium hearing this music almost every morning. He died in 2019, but all the time I hear this song I still can feel as if I was at his side in the car, dreaming about our future.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my father. When I saw him last (he was going away to visit friends in Jamaica] I knew that it was going to be the last time. I have always had a neat knowing of these things to be able to sense the truth about the world about someone’s life. I hugged him and I cried. I said I understand you have to go home. He died a week later after arriving in Jamaica. The night before my sister talked to him, and she asked him what was he doing and he said I’m just sitting underneath an Ackee tree listening to the birds singing and I feel so happy.

My ex used to play this song a lot in the early days of our relationship and I’d always liked it a lot. She was so full of joy, love, and hope for the future back then… Time went on and i’d kinda forgotten about it; we split up a couple years ago after we’d drifted in different directions. being a kid, going on trips with your best friends, late nights in summer, i really took it all for granted. i never realised how much easier life was back then, i’d do anything to go back.
Believe me realizing how good life is when you are young and knowing from an early age that adulthood sucks does not help. Since 6th grade when I read a book saying that humans are weird, they want to grow up when they are young and they want to be young when they are adults. I didn't get it at first and then I tried to look at my parents as I grew older and at the age of 14 I was so fucking scared of growing up or graduating from school and I told my parents my fears and they said: you haven't lived anything yet, what we should say if you are young and acting like this. Now I am 17 almost 18, graduated highschool and adulthood is so hectic, yet I feel I am living more than ever. The point is that realizing at an early age ruined some of my childhood so you would be much better off not knowing instead of being afraid every minute in your childhood when you are closer and closer to adulthood and knowing that those happy memories will end sooner or later. Long story but like that was so painful and helpful for me. The only thing that is beautiful about childhood that there are no responsibilities unlike adulthood and that what I was scared of, but remember that humans' best feature is knowing how to adapt.

being a kid, going on trips with your best friends, late nights in summer, i really took it all for granted. i never realised how much easier life was back then, i’d do anything to go back.
Believe me realizing how good life is when you are young and knowing from an early age that adulthood sucks does not help. Since 6th grade when I read a book saying that humans are weird, they want to grow up when they are young and they want to be young when they are adults. I didn't get it at first and then I tried to look at my parents as I grew older and at the age of 14 I was so fucking scared of growing up or graduating from school and I told my parents my fears and they said: you haven't lived anything yet, what we should say if you are young and acting like this. Now I am 17 almost 18, graduated highschool and adulthood is so hectic, yet I feel I am living more than ever. The point is that realizing at an early age ruined some of my childhood so you would be much better off not knowing instead of being afraid every minute in your childhood when you are closer and closer to adulthood and knowing that those happy memories will end sooner or later. Long story but like that was so painful and helpful for me.
