      Ultrawide personally. I went for a 2K WFHD ( 2560x1080P ) monitor but, it's kind of a niché resolution. About this video, I totally agree with the choose you did suggest. I was able to get and try a Gigabyte M27Q for a short amount of time and it was a really good monitor, for the price. Take care Vadim, greetings from Italy.

    Easiest way i explain resolution to customers is the larger the screen, the higher the res you need to get the same picture. No 4k does not look good on a 1080 p monitor, it will just make everything look tiny. Using 1080p on a 1440p monitor will make things look less clear and larger than normal. You should play the resolution that is native to the screen, Full stop. 4k on a big TV has the same fidelity as 1080p on a small monitor.

    I used to have a 24 inch monitor for 5 years in my old gaming PC, and I used 24 inch monitors my whole life. I thought 32 inch would be way too much but once I got the Samsung Neo G8 for my new gaming PC it just felt so natural. I don't think I can ever go back to 24 inch.

      And an RX 6800 GPU is a bit tight for 4K and will soon be obsolete, in 1440p it could continue to be used for many years.

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Рік тому +57

      1080p resolution doesn't look good on a 1440p display because of how pixels are arranged. It scales OK on a 4K display because the display can use four (4K) pixels to display one 1080p pixel. If that makes sense🙂 Can't do that on a 1440p display. So, technically you are actually loosing image quality by using a 1440p monitor compared to running 1080p resolution on a 1080p monitor that has a comparable pixel density.

    • @JessieDoidge
      @JessieDoidge 11 місяців тому +7

      @gearsssss 1080p on a 1080p screen is perfectly readable, 1080p on a 1440p screen makes the text a little fuzzy but easily readable as it's bigger. Personally I'd stick to native res and adjust your scale if you want bigger text. If unsure pop into somewhere that sells screens and look at them side by side. I still have multiple 1080p screens that I regularly use for Web browsing and have never had an issue reading anything

      A 1080p 23.8 monitor has SLIGHTLY higher ppi than 1440p 32 inch. So, you’re basically getting the same quality as a 1080p 24 inch monitor. You probably wouldn’t feel like you need to move to 4k if you had a 27 inch monitor. Unless you NEED bigger than 27, I’d get a 27. At 32 inches, you’re losing performance and it’ll be just as blurry as a 24 inch 1080p. 4k at 32 would be a massive quality increase though.

      3080 will only be held back at 1080p if the cpu isn’t strong enough. The more frames you want to drive, the more the cpu gets pushed. With a strong enough CPU, you could be taking advantage of a 4090 at 480p. Although, there is no cpu strong enough at the moment to do that. For me the best screen size for 4K is 50 inches. Watching movies and playing games is very immersive. When I play shooters I can spot far away enemies quicker, when I play driving games I can see further down the road since everything is bigger on a 50 inch.

    I have been using ultrawide for 5 years now because I love it but my issue was streaming in sites like twitch, etc so I went for 4k 19:9 OLED for an all purpose/quality. If one day we see OLED 4k ultrawide 21:9 with at least 34" then I will change back.

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Рік тому

      Agreed!🙂🤝 4K ultrawide would be nice. I guess right now such a product would cost way too much and that is why companies don't make it. Well, 1440p adoption is ramping up now thanks to a plethora of great ~$300 monitors. 4K is the next step. But the display industry is innovating slowly. I had my first 4K monitor in 2015 (I think). And too this day 4K remains a luxury/professional niche product. Still way too long to go for it to become mainstream almost 10 years after the introduction of the 4K standard.

      I know it's a little late to respond but still... Though I have never used a 27", 1440p on a 32inch looks okay with no problems. However, if you ever plan to play on 1080p, 27" could be your best shot since the image will look low-quality on 32" compared to 27". You can use your GPU manufacturer's softwares, such as RSR on AMD side, to make the image look a bit more sharper if needed. Also can't make a comment brand-wise.

      @@terminator7137 unless you're sitting very far away then you should see the pixels if you really try. but the bigger the screen, the more spread out the pixels are from each other, aka the pixel density. the smaller the screen the higher the density, which means they are closer together, which makes the image look sharper and more clear. typically 24' for 1080p is the normal, 27' for 1440p, and 32' for 4k, although 4k 27' is incredibly sharp and crisp because of the pixels being so close together. the higher the resolution of the monitor, the more you can get away with bigger screens and not see a huge difference if you are sitting reasonably far from your display. if you sit far, then you can also go with larger screens. 32' 1440p is probably like 27' 1080p, still pretty good but you'll need to sit somewhat far. look up monitor ppi (pixel per inch) with different sizes and resolutions and do research. the more pixels per inch, the better clarity etc.
