I really wish Gotham was bigger and unrealistically tall like in Arkham City’s background. The interconnected towers would have made gliding fun since you would have to move around and time your dive bombs so you dont hit anything. You could also have predator rooms with multiple layers and it would have added so much
Yeah it’s just that they put so much detail in their maps that they have to sacrifice size for realism & detail. I really want an actual Gotham like the Gotham in City’s background.
And it’s funny because back in the day people used to post videos of breaking the boundary in Arkham city to explore the skyline in the back and it seems more similar to what’s seen in the concept art for Arkham knight
I think I'd prefer if the game started at twilight (when the sun first dips below the horizon), descends into deep midnight, then finishes at very early morning. It'd make more sense, too, given how much content is in arkham knight compared to the other games and the realistic timespan it'd need to be. Plus you could get away with seeing the sun rise or set if it was very cloudy, and with the much grander size of gotham, buildings would also cast plenty of play areas in shadow. I also wish they'd go with the classic red sky gotham from BTAS and etc, maybe as a dynamic weather thing. If you think it's too unrealistic, red skies do actually occur in real life. Particularly around dawn or dusk, but triggered by a very large amount of particulates in the air - such as from wildfires or volcanic eruptions. Some even theorize The Scream, the painting, was drawn to replicate a red sky due to a recent significant eruption causing that to happen globally. Regardless, it'd just be a very cool final or opening hour thing. With Ivy's pollen and the cloudburst, it wouldnt be unprescendented for the skybox to shift throughout the game either. Blimps wouldve also been great for traversal. Hitching rides on the helicopters was one of my favorite things to do in City, so especially with highrises you'd really get a whole new dimension to the gliding and grappling. Maybe with more ability to do so in and out of stealth or combat. Gridlock could still work given the batmobile can push cars out of the way. Treating them like movable obstacles you can use as cover, or yank with the power winch to deal damage or cut off movement in drone combat mightve been a good way to impliment it. With larger vehicles like trucks or tractors to section off streets so you cant abuse the batmobile for every encounter.
You hit it right on the money bro and honestly I didn’t even think about how they could’ve added a red sky box as an homage to BTAS and I think it was really a waste of time and effort seeing the developers creating the skies at different times of day just for them to be relegated to certain missions in the game I’m glad we’ve got the same sorta vision for what could’ve been possible for the game, I thank you for watching and commenting my man !🫂🫂🫂

Like super tall skyscrapers and thousands of alleys, very little space for a batmobile. And plus itd take way more time to implement. Still though, a btas styled city with gothic churchlike architecture everywhere would be dope. Lovely video btw

While I think the choice to limit the city size, to ensure that the level of detail of Knight kept up and surpassed the previous games, was good in the long term, I would kill for a Gotham that's dense like Gotham Knights with actual good gameplay. Knight's Gotham does feel like how Gotham should be though IMO

Honestly I never really thought having a city only populated by criminals was an issue for me… I always thought it’d be weird to just chase around regular people in the streets but maybe we’ll get it in a future Batman game

Arkham knight still looks next gen almost 9 years later compared to Gotham knights and the upcoming rocksteady game suicide squad. It’s a shame they don’t make good DC games like the Arkham series.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put my finger on why the game looks so good because if you really look at the finer details like the quality of the textures, the newer games definitely look better so I have no idea why AK still looks better than most

Ironically enough one of the things I noticed about the city is the lack of alley ways through it, you’d think of all cities, Gotham would have an endless amount.

I wish Gotham was like Gotham in arkham city. Arkham knight is just so disappointing, the story sucks, the batmobile is used for 30% of the story, there’s no boss battles, even the gameplay I just find less fun than arkham city for some reason.
I get where you’re coming from for sure there’s definitely a lot of moments in Arkham knight that I wish got expanded upon but honestly I think it’s the Arkham game I have the most fun while playing because of how in control you are of the combat encounters, usage of gadgets, and predator sections but overall it definitely wasn’t a perfect game

I think Rocksteady made the mistake of sacrificing too much in art direction to make getting around Gotham as easy as possible; challenge and progression is rewarding. Gotham Knights did this a bit better but the city looks too generic, and the traversal mechanics suck
There’s that fine line between making the world exactly how you see it in your mind and what would be actually feasible to build in the game engine and all things considered, I’m not sure if we could’ve gotten a better open world experience
To this day it's mind blowing to me that Arkham Knight was made in Unreal 3. That engine was old even for that time. The fact that it looks better than some games of today is a testament to what an efficient team with a cohesive vision can do given enough time.
And really if makes no sense as to why looking at the entire world, people still think it looks better than suicide squad when looking at the finer details the new game was way more polygons and higher quality textures
@@gibsonisthenameYeah, of course modern games are capable of supporting higher poly counts and higher res textures than games of old but at the end of the day what most players value over anything else when it comes to graphics is art direction. A recent example from just a couple years ago was when a bunch of devs got mad that many people preffered the art direction of Elden Ring over the technically more impressive graphical fidelity of Horizon Forbidden West.

I mean that’s one of my main complaints with the game as well, there’s only like 3 skyscrapers in the entire game and once you really think abt how a city operates, you realize quickly that the Gotham in Arkham knight would just not work as an actual city.

These Images in my opinion are Better than the finalist material we have now, The buildings, Inhabitants look distinct & Weights from it’s Magnitude, Just like how it looked in Arkham City. I am playing Arkham Knight at the moment and the game’s Global illumination have age fine wine. Rocksteady might not have enough Dominance & Power to The Game’s Variety & Structure? Arkham Knight was One of my Favourite Superhero Games like anyone else does.
I get you one million percent… when looking at concept art in general from a medium that’s familiar it just invokes a space in your mind that’s so much more detailed and grandiose than what it actually might be… and especially for the concept art in these games in almost represents how we think or remember the games in our minds eye

Thank you, The Arkham series has A Special Terrain in my heart!!! If I never Experience and heard of these, I’ve wouldn’t be A Huge Batman Fan I was Today. Arkham Asylum was The one that got me into Batman As A Child. & since I’m in My Mid to Late Teens. I should probably take my time instead of Rushing through The Urban Of Arkham. I’ll Start Origins because it’s The Right relic for Canonical Wise and End with Knight And All of it’s DLC. I’ll try to be better because of My Progression through My Playtime over This Series of The Arkham Franchise. I hope this makes sense, and stay safe out there. Because sometimes I have Issues due to My mental Health, But that beside The point. I am Learning how to protect My self just Like Batman, Cause I look up to the character since I was A Toddler, See ya and again be safe 👋
Out of Arkham Knigbt's countless failures, one of the biggest ones is the art direction, specifically with "Gotham City" which looks more like New York and not like GOTHam.
As much as people hate Gotham knights I gotta give it credit for the way WB Montreal created Gotham city in that game it was such a open and life like city with large buildings and neon lights with actual CIVILIANS unlike Arkham Knight I gotta give Gotham knights credit for that but overall Gotham knights Gotham is my personal favorite but Arkham Knights Gotham was definitely special for sure
Big ask but with the direction animation is going with mixed media visuals like Spider-verse, I would love to see the same done with a game. Imagine a Batman game with the painterly aesthetic of the concept art.

Looking at concept art is weird especially for sequels because you already have established canon and lore. It's like looking into an alternative sequence.
Arkham origins really has the best map, it's Arkham City but at it's full potential with all the goth buildings that look like vampire castles, you really feel like it's a an old American city.
It’s just such a shame that origins will probably never get a remaster like it deserves so we can really experience the entirety of the game on modern day consoles

I really think Arkham Knight should’ve had civilians around, some people couldn’t get off the island maybe a few thousand spread across the 3 islands. Idk it just would’ve made Gotham feel more populated and made it that more great than it already was
Another person had said something similar in the comments and honestly I never really had an issue with the city being evacuated and it probably would’ve gotten annoying having to save civilians from crimes every 5 seconds like in the spiderman games
The game still looks amazing. I wish they would give us a remastered for Arkham Knight, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins. I don't see it happening but they did give us an update for The Batman suit.

I get where you’re coming from for sure there’s definitely a lot of moments in Arkham knight that I wish got expanded upon but honestly I think it’s the Arkham game I have the most fun while playing because of how in control you are of the combat encounters, usage of gadgets, and predator sections but overall it definitely wasn’t a perfect game

I think Rocksteady made the mistake of sacrificing too much in art direction to make getting around Gotham as easy as possible; challenge and progression is rewarding. Gotham Knights did this a bit better but the city looks too generic, and the traversal mechanics suck
There’s that fine line between making the world exactly how you see it in your mind and what would be actually feasible to build in the game engine and all things considered, I’m not sure if we could’ve gotten a better open world experience

To this day it's mind blowing to me that Arkham Knight was made in Unreal 3. That engine was old even for that time. The fact that it looks better than some games of today is a testament to what an efficient team with a cohesive vision can do given enough time.
And really if makes no sense as to why looking at the entire world, people still think it looks better than suicide squad when looking at the finer details the new game was way more polygons and higher quality textures
@@gibsonisthenameYeah, of course modern games are capable of supporting higher poly counts and higher res textures than games of old but at the end of the day what most players value over anything else when it comes to graphics is art direction. A recent example from just a couple years ago was when a bunch of devs got mad that many people preffered the art direction of Elden Ring over the technically more impressive graphical fidelity of Horizon Forbidden West.

I’m no game developer but yes I think it could’ve been along with the city being more densely packed like a real city and I remember how some were disappointed when the game came out because it seemed like it could’ve been bigger than what we actually got
I mean that’s one of my main complaints with the game as well, there’s only like 3 skyscrapers in the entire game and once you really think abt how a city operates, you realize quickly that the Gotham in Arkham knight would just not work as an actual city.

These Images in my opinion are Better than the finalist material we have now, The buildings, Inhabitants look distinct & Weights from it’s Magnitude, Just like how it looked in Arkham City. I am playing Arkham Knight at the moment and the game’s Global illumination have age fine wine. Rocksteady might not have enough Dominance & Power to The Game’s Variety & Structure? Arkham Knight was One of my Favourite Superhero Games like anyone else does.
I get you one million percent… when looking at concept art in general from a medium that’s familiar it just invokes a space in your mind that’s so much more detailed and grandiose than what it actually might be… and especially for the concept art in these games in almost represents how we think or remember the games in our minds eye

Thank you, The Arkham series has A Special Terrain in my heart!!! If I never Experience and heard of these, I’ve wouldn’t be A Huge Batman Fan I was Today. Arkham Asylum was The one that got me into Batman As A Child. & since I’m in My Mid to Late Teens. I should probably take my time instead of Rushing through The Urban Of Arkham. I’ll Start Origins because it’s The Right relic for Canonical Wise and End with Knight And All of it’s DLC. I’ll try to be better because of My Progression through My Playtime over This Series of The Arkham Franchise. I hope this makes sense, and stay safe out there. Because sometimes I have Issues due to My mental Health, But that beside The point. I am Learning how to protect My self just Like Batman, Cause I look up to the character since I was A Toddler, See ya and again be safe 👋
Out of Arkham Knigbt's countless failures, one of the biggest ones is the art direction, specifically with "Gotham City" which looks more like New York and not like GOTHam.
Honestly that goes for the whole Arkham series, they paid such close attention to detail in ways a lot of players just breezed past
As much as people hate Gotham knights I gotta give it credit for the way WB Montreal created Gotham city in that game it was such a open and life like city with large buildings and neon lights with actual CIVILIANS unlike Arkham Knight I gotta give Gotham knights credit for that but overall Gotham knights Gotham is my personal favorite but Arkham Knights Gotham was definitely special for sure

Big ask but with the direction animation is going with mixed media visuals like Spider-verse, I would love to see the same done with a game. Imagine a Batman game with the painterly aesthetic of the concept art.

Looking at concept art is weird especially for sequels because you already have established canon and lore. It's like looking into an alternative sequence.
I’m not even sure if this is the right word to use but it feels dystopian to me…so familiar yet so different with much more depth
Arkham origins really has the best map, it's Arkham City but at it's full potential with all the goth buildings that look like vampire castles, you really feel like it's a an old American city.
It’s just such a shame that origins will probably never get a remaster like it deserves so we can really experience the entirety of the game on modern day consoles

Side note the blimps were in the game even before the Arkham Knight captured them. You can see them floating around when you look up.

Trust me in my head I sound fairly normal and as realistically enthusiastic as I can but then I have that sorta disconnect between what I hear in my head and what I actually sound like and I wish I had a more dynamic voice but even outside of making UA-cam videos a lot of people have told me about my monotone voice

I really think Arkham Knight should’ve had civilians around, some people couldn’t get off the island maybe a few thousand spread across the 3 islands. Idk it just would’ve made Gotham feel more populated and made it that more great than it already was
Another person had said something similar in the comments and honestly I never really had an issue with the city being evacuated and it probably would’ve gotten annoying having to save civilians from crimes every 5 seconds like in the spiderman games
The game still looks amazing. I wish they would give us a remastered for Arkham Knight, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins. I don't see it happening but they did give us an update for The Batman suit.
All the games except for knight deserve a true remaster without any weird changes to any of the models…
