I'm glad that Matt didn't back out of his design for the Penguin, even if it strayed far away from what he imagined and he was kinda taking a gamble hiding a talented actor behind a bunch of prosthetics. I mean, I remember telling people that Penguin was played by Colin Farrell and most peoples reactions were absolute bewilderment. Like they could never have imagined that was him.
Owen Wilson is penguin
"Gigachad appearing Riddler" 💀
This was the best Batman movie we ever got. Matt Reaves gave us a best gothic batman movie.
True. I personally think this was the best Batman film, with TDK being a close second.
@@Stowerslemalu he wasn't meant to be Bruce Wayne though. He referred to himself as Batman which is accurate in the comics. Maybe later on he might yk be a lil bit of both. Bruce Wayne and batman
Exactly this Batman is just starting out so he doesn’t know how to balance his 2 lives which is why he was Batman for most of the film and not Bruce Wayne
@@Stowerslemalu bro did u just sit through entire 3 hours film and still misses the point, why he in his emo phase? Really? He said he does not care for Bruce Wayne stuff and only focus on Batman only (literally the argument scene with Alfred)
@@vengeance4566ignore him. Some people will bitch for the sake of it
Really excited for The Batman: Part II. It’s nice that the new Batsuit makes Batman fast and agile and one minor improvement we need in the Batsuit is Batman actually using more martial arts and Batman should also use his batarangs. It would be cool that the Batsuit gets small updates including making the cape and cowl dark blue and the utility belt being dark yellow as they match the grounded environment.
How does it match the environment and what do you mean grounded environment
NEVER change your thumbnails man!
This is your style and trademark.

Magic
This has the best Gotham City I’ve seen since the tim burton movies and 90s cartoon
My favorite fictional character of all time I can never say no to more batman content. This concept art would make for a great videogame.
That chase scenes still worked out even with the restrictions and cut sections.
Yeah, despite having the scope lowered, the chase was still incredible.
@@WarpingFist Honestly the film is a breath of fresh air among the CGI filled mess the MCU has been as of late. It's tangible like it can actually exist a perfect blend of practical and CGI.
I honestly wish I found this channel sooner.
@@baki484 Yep. It's the best batman movie. And one of the best comic book movies.
@@WarpingFist I think smaller scope is vastly underappreciated. Assuming that bigger set-pieces and higher stakes make better films leads to stinkers like Battleship, or the Transformers movies.
Batman movies started off with the Burton movie's weird, oversized cartoon city and fantasy car, and it just kept getting bigger from there. The Tumbler, cool as it is, was the outside of what made sense for the character. It barely passed as real-world technology. By the time The Dark Knight Rises came out, that prototype copter-thing just felt overscaled for a movie about a crime fighter. But then, the movie itself abandoned the very notion of fighting crime in favor of total social breakdown on the scale of Escape from New York. It left me feeling like Batman was being shoehorned into a story meant for someone more like Superman.
That would have been the point they'd have done well to scale the scope back to grounded street crime. But of course, Zack Snyder and the DCEU regime obviously believed bigger is always better. So Zack's Batmobile and Bat Plane would have been more at home in a Star Wars movie. And the stakes bloated up again to planetary, and ultimately, galactic scale.
So I applaud the choice to scale back the scope, but honestly, there was nowhere else to go.
@@rottensquid I agree about the smaller scope being under appreciated. Let's take the moment Alfred opened the package with a bomb and the deafening silence or batman trying to solve the riddle with a bomb strapped on that one guy during the funeral. I could feel that tension it left me at the edge of my seat because something like that can happen as opposed to the large scaled CGI battle found on these shared universes like the MCU, transformer or starwars.
The stakes in the batman feel more tangible. It's why I love the noir, detective stories of batman. The dark knight is another with Heath Ledger's joker as he gives his "you wanna know how I got these scars?" monologues with his hands on the victim's face.
What I've learned is that these large scale battles are largely meaningless the most tension and emotions is found in the more intimate moment. Seven starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman is another great example of a great movie and a ending full of tension as opposed to something like infinity war or endgames battle for the infinity stone it's nothing but overstimulation at this point.
got to be honest. Batman's entrance slowly walking down the steps was cool, but landing on the train would've been even cooler
Even with all these cool scenes and.concepts cut, they still delivered the best live action version of Batman and the world he resides in. The Batman was an amazing film. And I can't wait to see more of it. Especially their version of the Joker...
My hope is they hold off on him till the third. Matt is getting to to do 3 movies, use the second one for lesser seen villans on film.
I hope they don’t use him at all, he’s been used so much that it’s obscuring the rest of the rogues gallery.
@@bencarlson4300For real. I love the Joker, but he's far from the end all be all of Batman villains. I find I like him the best in a supplementary role.
Batman my favorite superhero

I love this movie. I like the direction Matt did for Roberts batman. A year 2 batman still figuring things out and got the detective side of batman. They nailed gotham city very gritty and full of crime. I can't wait for The Batman 2.
4:10 Found a little Discord 'bloop!', not that it matters. Love your videos, research, & presentation. You're going to blow up a million times. Very well done report!
There’s a couple of them in the video
excited to see where the series goes, they could lean more into the horror aspect of the batman universe (serial killers, arkham asylum, etc) it would be dope as hell
maybe take a page out of "Arkham asylum: Serious house on serious earth"... maybe tone down the horror a little bit ofc Loll
Ah Lastly a Unused concepts on this Masterpiece. Want more Contents about The Batman
Great way to celebrate Batman 85th Anniversary.
It’s not 85th anniversary tho. That’s in 2024 not 2023.

Still Loved The Movie Despite The Fact that many Interesting Concepts was cut. And Really Exited for The Batman Part II
One cool easter egg about the Batmobile - I was at a visual design conference with Ash Thorp, the designer of the final car, and he showed how the rear of the car forms the bat symbol when viewed from behind. He also said he's not sure even Matt Reeves even noticed it or not lol
Some of the concept arts are interesting but I am still happy with the final product. The Batman was a Masterpiece in film making
Nah
Happy anniversary to the greatest detective of all time and Also a Props To matt reeves for making this Masterpiece
Best superhero movie in my book 📖
From everything I’ve seen it looks like they’re gonna evolve Batman as the sequels come out. Like his bat mobile being improved on or Bruce regaining his confidence and having that playboy look in the concept art. They have a wonderful base to build off of
I'm from Liverpool, and it's really cool to know that there was a planned chase sequence meant to happen here.
I think keeping the Penguin's scarred appearance that Mike Moreno pitched was a good call to be honest. With the facial injuries and rugged appearance, he looks like someone who truly has suffered the war scars that come with being involved in organized crime.
Looks like Hanamaya from Baki 😂😂😂
I guess for the concepts of the batmobile, if they ever do a cyberpunk type Batman, they already got it done
More The Batman?? Yes i'll take it, thank you WF.
Happy anniversary to the best Character in fiction and I will love more of Batman contents like Burton Batman Films or Lost Year 1 Batman Movie.
5:05 bruh I thought that was my discord going off
I have infinite love for Batman and his world. Many thanks for doing what you do, keep it up man
Damn with all the restriction and limitation because of the pandemic ,they still able to pulled this off .but now covid is over, imagine the sequel would look like, I can't wait .
Love the channel. Also your riddler performance was truly beautiful 👍
An idea I really think could've worked well in the film is if Riddler had a limp and needed a cane, because I feel they strayed too far from the original character.
When he isn't wearing the suit you might see him rely on it a lot and have it as a symbol of the bad hand he'd been dealt, but when he is wearing the suit it becomes a deadly weapon which he uses to brutally beat his victims.
That way they could include his famous cane in a realistic way, obviously it wouldn't have to be in the shape of a question mark, I think that would be a bit much.
Have you ever considered making The Unused Content of Batman ‘66? Not sure how much is out there, but I’d love to see it.
I mean it would be interesting but I don't think any concepts exist
Anyone remember the rumor that Battinson's Batman would look like a serious version of Adam West's suit? But it was proven false with the trailers
I see this new trilogy had potential to be one of the best trilogy or even better than TDK Trilogy. The Batman was a amazing movie and a Great start for matt reeves in his trilogy. Hopefully the sequels will be also awesome and great.
19:33 Giga-Chad Riddler be like: Riddle Me This, who lifts, while others sit, gains plenty for all to see?!
God, I really wish we could've seen the concept art version of Gotham on the big screen. It's such a unique and cool look for the city, and I feel like the version in the finished film is cool, but sort of just a new york stand-in.
Unfortunately concept arts always look really cool and evoke a very specific emotion and ambience, but it usually doesn’t translate well to the medium of movies or video games or whatver it is
@@bruhmoment1761
I think it could work, a lot of the gothic architecture reminds me of cologne Germany. I think the universe has enough comic-y elements to pull it off.
Great video! Love how much you research for each video to make the most complete and interesting material. Love from Brazil man, keep up the great work
Great video, keep 'em coming. Really love The Batman concept arts, beautiful gothic depiction of Batman and his world.
This was A really damn Great Movie even despite the massive changes they went with.
Been waiting to get out of school today just so I could watch this
The Batman suit is fantastic and honestly I thought they wanted a more tactical but bruting
been waiting for this for MONTHS
4:10 I honestly fell for it there, I heard a discord ping and it made me check discord
Same bruh
4:11 got me looking for a notification
After watching this I just realised I saw the Batmobile on a trailer a few years ago whilst driving up to Scotland on the motorway, the whole journey I was trying to figure out what it was and you’ve jogged my memory
The greatest unused concept was an R-rating. Always felt this Batman movies could go harder. Like the Venom movies plays like the TV edit of a better movie.
The Batman should've joined into a billion dollar club, It only made almost 800 million dollars in the final box office.
the riddler subscribe video you made was so well-made i had to
Loved watching the video and love The Barman film. Subscribed.
I just wish Pattinson Batman was a little more comic book like, I don’t want another realistic grounded Batman, the atmosphere of The Batman movie and the designs are already so good, but Batman shouldn’t be too grounded. Make him as fast and strong as Batfleck while also keeping the same vibes they had in the movie
I hope that in the next movie, Matt Reeves recycles some of these ideas bc they are just too good to go to waste
The Batman film is an accurate depiction of Batman's early years and is an awesome movie to watch.
I'd love to see the guy who did the concept art make a full comic.
I've seen a lot of these fantastic artworks, but I never noticed that Batman had the fingerless gloves, That would really add to the street level batman they were going for, but it wouldn't really make sense, since he would just be leaving fingerprints everywhere, but those concept art drawings are my favorite by far.
The Noel influenced suit is also up there, it looks closest to the actual suit that was used.
If there is another chase scene in the sequel I hope they add the construction site for it.
I'm so glad they went with the prosthetics for The Penguin! Colin was such a delight! Looking forward to his series and how they incorporate Clayface in the sequel
I realy hoped you are gonna do a video about it 🙏🏻
Those pictures of Gotham at the start are beautiful.

Great video man
Man I love this movie
The Editing 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video!
Did anybody else pick up on the detail that Batman's gauntlet on one of his wrists, with the many darts sticking out, very strongly resembles a similar gauntlet that the Talon assassins of the Court of Owls wear?
This movie grew on me, i had grown fond of bat-fleck and the idea of Deathstroke in a batman movie, i was really hoping would happen, Pattinson as batman suprised me as i didn't have high hopes for him, but he pulled it off, the suit is great but for me personally batmans cowl always looks off the last couple of movies, this film aswell as the Nolan trilogy, i liked what they did with the penguin, his character suits this iteration of batman, i wish Catwoman had a better mask though, one thing i miss from the "cheesy" batman films is how eccentric and overblown the architecture of Gotham was, neon and huge busts of stone faces, the riddler i felt was done justice in this film, i liked how sinister he was, as a villain i could never take him seriously but this movie showed a different side of him, i hope that they bring Mr. Freeze back to the batman films, he is such a tragic villain and the dark and bleak feel of this film could make an interesting version of Mr. Freeze in a sequel. (Hush and Killer Croc I'd love to see in a film too.)
I wanna like deathstroke In a Batman movie but it feel like everyone wants the cyclops and the bat to fight and I just don’t see it. Might as well be bane
I’m positive Pattinson was also the drop head with the gun. Not just a call back to good time
Hey uh request, can you do a similar video to these movies Spawn, the crow, tim burton batman?
That concept suit looks like the new 52 suit
I think with Gotham being flooded the city will start to look more decayed
Technically the wingsuit is more accurate to bat wings. Yeah the concept art of him gliding is cool but we still get to have him incorporate more practical equipment and still keep some elements of a bat and a man
I want that concept art to hang on my walls😭
The original Penguin concept art looks more like what I usually imagine Sal Maroni to look like.
I'm just glad the live action movie took Batman back to his roots and explored his detective side much more. The Batmobile in this version actually reminds me of the 1943 live action batmobile which was just a 1939 75 Cadillac convertible in addition to how the Green Hornet modified his car. Really makes me wonder how extensive Matt Reeves research went?
I hope we see the batsuit used in Riddler year one in the movies for a dodge challenger as the next batmobile with purple head lights
Looking at these concepts for the Penguin…why would he be wearing anything other than black and white?
Are thay still making the penguin show? If thay are i think itd be awesome if thay put vilians that thay wont use in it as like gang memers or something like clock king or condiment king like thay will never use tham but itd be cool
There a cut of Batman that I read , years ago but I was really like blown away bye how dark and fucking cook the concept was , it was Batman : year zero . A concept by the goat Darren arranofsky and he wanted Clint Eastwood as a old retired Batman dealing with all his finds , and the joker will be play by Willem dafoe , the concept will explore the end of Batman , and the rise of the joker as a supreme leader . The project was rejected due to the facts that was to dark and gory . I will pay a hell of money to say that version
For the sequel I would like to see something like this suit 8:08 but with the chest armor on the suit we got.
Could have been cool if the Riddler had a bouler at the café… or not.
meh
Everyone tries to say which batman is better, they're all different characters. They have the same name, but they're completely different
This man deserves more views
Love ur channel so much just subbed
I think it woud be cool if batman puts like mettel plates inside hes cape so he can glide and he can also use hes cape for protection
I’m not such a big fan of the Batsuit they went with. Way too overdesigned for me, I don’t like the collar. However, the concept in 9:57 is spectacular, much cleaner and visually harmonic, also it looks kind of blue? Which is as comic accurate as it gets. I hope the suit turns into something like that.
I honestly prefer the One they Went with. This One surely is Cool But it looks alot like the Dceu One
That one looks alot like the new 52 But I like the Actual Movie one. The Movie one looks more grounded and Dark
Yeah But The Final one was better for me
Nah I don't think the suit is over designed at all
Gotham looks more New York City in some shots.
It's funny that the bat symbol in the final film was 22. The movie was released in 2022.
The Batman is my personal favorite Batman film I've always loved Matt Reeves films and I've always loved Pattinson as an actor and what they gave us was truly masterful
You’re great!
My boy don't fuckin miss on my life
The batarang is the bat symbol he takes it out at the final fight when he has to cut the wire to save the people in the water
There's something in the Wayne'sssss....mmmmmmmm, hmmmmmmm....something in the Wayne'ssssssss.....mmmmmmmm hmmmmmm
besides buying the artbook, where can we get these pictures digitally?
looking at the artist's websites and social media. all links are in the description.
I've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty
I wish the long ears in the concept art made it into the movie
I love the Nolan films but Pattinson is my favorite Batman. Also hopefully Gunn uses an armor with fabric on top. Hopefully blue & grey with the yellow emblem. Shit. Give him the moving Deadpool white eyes. He’s a freaking billionaire. That can be explained with “special contacts” or something. Or Reeves! Do this in the sequel!
Greatest Batman Movie ever
I Expect A "Car Extended Warranty Joke" Very Disappointed
I wish they put the v at the bottom of the logo. And make the ears longer. And the logo whould be perfect
I love this bag suit but what I hate is the fins on the forearms are made of rubber so they shake around and look cheap
The cowl and cape look 10 times better in the concept art than in the actual movie. Bruh.
Then again, most concept art designs look better than the final product sadly.
I Think the cape's has Better look in Actual Movie. The concept art one cape is too Stiff
The Cape is better in The Movie
@@mrwhite1437 Squirrelman? Ha! Plus its way too short for Batman.
