Some clarification that I want to add: In one of the QnA's on BAV's channel, Ryan indirectly said that Dick Grayson would not be in the game. So like I said, his character being "set up" could mean that Arkham Batman simply matures more throughout the story and is ready for that kind of thing, or he's just an easter egg/little snippet. Seems highly unlikely that he'll actually show up or play a prominent role, at least based on the info we've gotten so far. Also, I keep seeing people complaining about how the graphics aren't as good as Arkham Knight's, so I just want to say that OF COURSE they aren't as good as Arkham Knight's. This is a VR game on standalone hardware, it's not going to look like Arkham Knight, but all things considered, the graphics actually look REALLY impressive. Plus, when you're actually in VR and not watching a 2d recording of the game, trust me it looks even better lol Update: yeah Grayson's pretty much all but confirmed to not show up, which is unfortunate. The devs talked a little about it in QnA #3 and it seems like we're only getting a small easter egg that builds his story within the background of the Arkhamverse, which I also made a short about if you're interested! ua-cam.com/users/shortsRAO_LF81mGc Side note but I also edited the Grayson part out of the video, people kept twisting my words and going around telling everyone that my own speculation was confirmation even though I said I had no clue lol. The only thing the devs told us was that he was set up in some way, and I'm 99.9% sure they were just talking about the small little easter egg mentioned above

What I've noticed recently reading the comments is that there seems to be a few people who've finally caved in and said that they're getting a Q3 and it seems in large part due to this game. I don't think I've noticed that with any other single VR game in the last 12 months. In other words, Arkham Shadows seems to be morphing into an actual potential system seller. Why do I think this is significant? I've owned a Q3 since last year but I've never played a single Batman game (yes, I'm the black sheep). I think that may change at some point in the future, though with this title. If this game does become a genuine system seller, that's great. hope this studio carries the legacy left by the old rockstedy team , with hopefully a more traditional game (not to far away in the future) and doing the proper research to not make storyline plots collides with the old games
Hearing that we’re finally seeing the start of the robins in the Arkham games makes me so happy! I can’t wait to see how this story goes and if it will maybe set up future Arkham related projects
As a VR enthusiast who has pretty much tried it all, spend the extra $200 and get a Quest 3 not the new, cheaper cost reduced Quest 3S. 🤷 Trust me, you'll want the Quest 3's better, sharper displays, dramatically, DRAMATICALLY clearer + wider FOV pancake lenses, smaller more comfortable form factor, FOUR TIMES as much internal storage (512GB vs just 128GB, which is SUPER important as full-fat AAA Q3/3S exclusives like this are gonna be seriously hefty! [≈15-75GB]), hardware headphone jack (vs having to use a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle ala 3S, meaning no using cans AND charging), and depth sensor (making room scanning & mixed reality more accurate).
Its probably also because fans have been begging for a new arkham entry for years, and with the sad passing of Kevin Conroy, they chose to respect him by not replacing him, but by bringing the timeline back to Origins where Roger Craig Smith is already canonically Batman
@@monk041No he hasn't. 🤦 This game has the exact same "younger Batman" voice actor as Arkham Origins (Roger Craig), which this game is a direct sequel to! Even if Kevin had still been alive he wouldn't have voiced Batman in this game. 🤷
Wow! I am so glad they pulled together the Arkham community. The VR community guys are really good to watch for what it comes to the VR side of it, but you guys know the lore and the Arkham Games! And Ryan gave you a lot of information! That is so awesome! I would love to see your guys Q&A session! I have been looking at a lot the new videos and trying to make out the Graphic Novels on the coffee table (these guys love their Easter Eggs!) Did they say anything about them? In your video I can see Arkam is the third one... It might not be Arkham without the hand holding for the detective stories... but if I could add one thing to the whole of the Arkham games it would probably be to add some mysteries without the level hand holding... real clues to a mystery where you have to work to solve the crime. Maybe that needs to be a new World's Greatest Detective or Detective Comics game instead.
If I'm able to play as Batgirl in this game, I'll go to the store to buy a VR headset just to play this game. She is my second favourite superhero, and I'm currently reading her comics by Gail Simone.
Do it!!! 👍😁 The $499 512GB Quest 3 which comes with a free copy of this game is the SINGLE best deal in all of gaming!!! And the $299 128GB Quest 3S (which also comes with the game, and is basically a Quest 2 but w/ the 3's new WILDLY more powerful XR2 Gen 2 SOC & MR capable stereo RGB passthrough cameras) is a great budget option for those who simply CANNOT spend more. If you aren't among the latter though, the extra $200 for the full-fat Quest 3 is COMPLETELY worth it. Trust me, if you can make the financial math work you'll want the Q3's better, sharper displays, DRAMATICALLY clearer + wider FOV "pancake" lenses, full IPD (eye distance) adjustment (vs the 3S' only 3x locked presets), headphone jack (meaning you can use headphones & charge/use a battery pack at the same time), smaller more comfortable form factor, and FOUR TIMES as much internal storage (SUPER important in these days of ≈15-75GB AAA VR games like this and Asgard's Wrath II!). And once you finish Batman there's still LOOOADS of great stuff to play! For just one of countless examples, Asgard's Wrath II is literally the best Western action RPG of the entire decade so far! (It was either the single most or 2nd most critically acclaimed game on all of Metacritic last year.)
No one else has covered some of these topics in depth plus you got some dirty little secrets, great job. We know Batman Arkham Shadow is releasing in October do you know what day? did you get that dirty little secret? Also I'm fine with the health meter but I do not like those lines to indicate you're basically wearing a cowl, it's an eyesore. they could have put the health meter on the gloves like a digital squared depletion meter either way that's just a minor whine baby gripe. won't take away that I have more than enough faith in Camouflaj to deliver a polished & engaging Game. I just hope when they're done with Batman Arkham shadow they find time to return to iron Man VR giving it a much needed Quest 3 enhanced version to preserve that amazing title for years to come. Great video!
I have so much respect for the devs. This is just incredible. When it comes to Riddler, I can't believe that you're disappointed haha. I hated those trophies so much
With so many different locations we've seen in the trailers im afraid theres a part of the "mission structure" thats going to be closer to the Iron Man game they made. You start out in the batcave, get a mission and "deploy" (loading screen), when the missions over you're sent back to the batcave. I like the idea if having the batcave, but i dont want to spend more time in there than in Gotham.
Nope. It's full Metroidvania in world structure, just like its biggest influence Asylum. This has been EXPLICITLY confirmed by the devs a whooooole bunch of times now. 🤷 Iron Man VR otoh was SIGNIFICANTLY limited by the stupid weak hardware it had to run on (the PS4's CPU in particular is HORRENDOUSLY slow and PSVR1 like all VR needed stable, super high framerates to not make people vomit, which is exactly where you really need CPU not GPU performance; although the base PS4 wasn't particularly fast in the latter area either). They were only able to load in so much stuff at a time in siloed instanced areas without performance tanking. The Quest 3/3S that this game is running on/was built for otoh has a CPU that's literally MULTIPLE TIMES FASTER than ANY last-gen console (like >≈+2-4x), and a GPU with literally DOUBLE the raw compute performance of the base model PS4 at ≈3.2 vs the latter's mere 1.76 TFLOPS! And all with the same 8GB capacity of memory (RAM) as 3/4 last-gen consoles (all but the 12GB One X). It's simply in a completely different hardware performance (& thus capability) LEAGUE compared to both PSVR1 and ESPECIALLY the Quest 2 that it replaced! 🤷 Camouflaj also didn't have anything even CLOSE to the full-fat AAA development budget that they got from Meta for Batman: Arkham Shadow (with it literally being the flagship 1st party Quest 3/3S title intended to launch the new $299 Quest 3S) that they did for Iron Man VR (which they made on a MUCH smaller AA budget BEFORE Meta bought them).
i'm glad the devs were able to translate arkham's gameplay into vr, if arkham shadow does well then i think it's about time a certain freindly neighbor hood superhero should recive his own vr game
Okay, I really appreciate how polished this game looks and how you say it feels, but unfortunately my experiences with VR usage in general (not games related, just straight up health) hasn't been the best and I don't think I'm the only one with this issue, I think a normal arkham PC game would have still be better and let's be real... I guess Suicided squad kinda pissed on the whole arkham storytelling but I guess they could have made an "batman beyond" like game that takes place in between suicide squad and batman arkham knight
You describing everthing the game has and the footage you provided just made me want to play this game soooo much i am getting my first vr a quest 3 just so i can buy this game i hope this revives the arkham franchise and do it justice instead of a certain game(ssktjl)
Looks like they actually nailed this game. Ofc we will see when it comes out, but I hope it’s got some good length to the story, some side quests, and a decent sized map. We will see!
4:44 I hope they'll make their own story, not just an adaptation because The Dark Knight Returns is not a good Batman comic. The only reason it is so praised is that it influenced superhero media to be darker and more violent. Keaton and Affleck's Batmen did the same thing, only in the movies.
Get a proper Quest 3 not the cheaper Quest 3S. Trust me on this one, you'll want the Q3's sharper, better displays & DRAMATICALLY clearer lenses. Plus considering it's also got FOUR TIMES the internal storage (512GB vs 128GB, which is SUPER important as Q3/3S exclusives like B:AS are going to have SIGNIFICANT file sizes! [≈10-75GB]) IMO it's COMPLETELY worth the extra $200! 🤷 And once you finish Arkham Shadow there are still TOOOOOOONS of great games to play on Quest! Asgard's Wrath II is the single best western action RPG so far this decade (just make sure to turn the Quest 3's upgraded graphics on in the settings!), Resident Evil 4 VR is arguably the single best way to play the non-modern remake version of the game, SUPERHOT VR is the single best puzzle shooter ever made, Bonelab will blow your mind out your butt in terms of what is possible in a VR space, and Assassin's Creed: Nexus is a pretty great time too. And that's not even MENTIONING PCVR if you happen to have a gaming capable PC! (Which you connect to wirelessly over your WiFi network using Quest Link). If that's on the table then you OF COURSE need to play Half-Life: Alyx ASAP, but also Lone Echo 1&2, the OG Asgard's Wrath (play it before the Quest exclusive sequel), and Boneworks (play it before its available on Quest sequel Bonelab).
I really hope the game ends up being more realistic than cartoony. I feel like when you go to “punch” an enemy off a gargoyle for an inverted takedown, I feel like it’d be more realistic and Batman-like to more of grab an enemy, then drop them. Also before you punch an enemy off of a gargoyle, they almost stay there for a second like a cartoon would. I’d much prefer holding the enemy then dropping them. Also the punches in the game seem more of a soft hit than actually punching them. I get how they want to have you hit every punch so you can feel a bit more epic, but I would also prefer almost like Bonelab’s combat where you have to actually hit the enemy, and it feels more realistic how it leaves a mark and it also feels more realistic. If they could take that and just add extra moves such as catching punches thrown at you and having to physically do a triangle square takedown, that would be groundbreaking.
i had my doubts but this is looking very promising. wish i could play it though. ive never had a vr. and probably won't get one. too expensive. been an arkham player since the start. this'll be the first one i miss😕
Looks pretty good, glad you had a nice experience with it. It's a real shame that this is stuck on VR, meaning the vast majority of people interested in it will never play it.
I won’t lie at first, I was really sad by a Batman Arkham VR. I was convinced that it would ruin the license, but when Camouflaj answered Fan Questions for ArkhamVideo, I wasn't worried at all anymore i had a moment of hope and felt some passion, but now that the trailer gameplay is out, I'm really glad I was wrong. This is going to be amazing
I wish the combat was more cinematic they could’ve added a feature to make Batman do an elimination animation with ur help of moving hands, idk it looks too Arcady and doesn’t look brutal… I just want it to have really good combat maybe we’ll get something like that in the near future.
I'm not a massive Batman fan; I enjoyed the first season of Telltale's Batman series probably the most, but this game I'm extremely hyped for. Quest Games Optimizer may hopefully add a nice little graphical boost! 🤞🏼

hope this studio carries the legacy left by the old rockstedy team , with hopefully a more traditional game (not to far away in the future) and doing the proper research to not make storyline plots collides with the old games
Hearing that we’re finally seeing the start of the robins in the Arkham games makes me so happy! I can’t wait to see how this story goes and if it will maybe set up future Arkham related projects
This is awesome. You’re so lucky to experience it first hand with the game creators. Cant wait to get it.
Damn, I need a Meta Quest 3 now.
It's the freakin' bat! In VR!
Don’t cave to the pressure. Zuck and Facebook aren’t worth giving any money to
I’m definitely gonna use your affiliate link to get a quest
Appreciate it my guy!
As a VR enthusiast who has pretty much tried it all, spend the extra $200 and get a Quest 3 not the new, cheaper cost reduced Quest 3S. 🤷
Trust me, you'll want the Quest 3's better, sharper displays, dramatically, DRAMATICALLY clearer + wider FOV pancake lenses, smaller more comfortable form factor, FOUR TIMES as much internal storage (512GB vs just 128GB, which is SUPER important as full-fat AAA Q3/3S exclusives like this are gonna be seriously hefty! [≈15-75GB]), hardware headphone jack (vs having to use a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle ala 3S, meaning no using cans AND charging), and depth sensor (making room scanning & mixed reality more accurate).
I think I know why Arkham Shadow is coming that’s because many people wants a remaster of Arkham Origins and fix the bugs and etc.
Its probably also because fans have been begging for a new arkham entry for years, and with the sad passing of Kevin Conroy, they chose to respect him by not replacing him, but by bringing the timeline back to Origins where Roger Craig Smith is already canonically Batman
@@gIyph_it’s all one timeline they just needed to get someone who sounds younger
@@monk041 i know, whqt I'm saying is instead of replacing modern Bruce's vouce actor, they took it back to someone they didnt have to replace
@@gIyph_ I mean he’s alr been replaced so
@@monk041No he hasn't. 🤦 This game has the exact same "younger Batman" voice actor as Arkham Origins (Roger Craig), which this game is a direct sequel to! Even if Kevin had still been alive he wouldn't have voiced Batman in this game. 🤷
Just saying great video I am so exited for Batman Arkham Shadow i will 100% be buying it when it releases
I love map wise they brought back the og Gotham city design and not the one from Arkham knight
I was super skeptical about thi, but hearing you being excited after playing it, I'm hyped now.
If I'm able to play as Batgirl in this game, I'll go to the store to buy a VR headset just to play this game. She is my second favourite superhero, and I'm currently reading her comics by Gail Simone.
Bro is built like the riddler
😭
@@Knerddhi diddle diddle it's time for a riddle
This is the best video on Arkham Shadow I’ve found. Thank you!
honestly i dont care it's a vr game, it's still a new piece of the arkhamverse puzzle + hey youtubers will be doing walkthroughs of it
Goddamn, you've got me genuinely considering getting a quest 3 to play this game
Do it!!! 👍😁
The $499 512GB Quest 3 which comes with a free copy of this game is the SINGLE best deal in all of gaming!!!
Sehr Gut Video Knerd
MAN why'd this game have to go and look really good, now I'm even more mad I don't have a Quest 3!
Having just learned about this now, I'm very hyped!!
I'm ready to be DustyBat in VR on Batman Arkham Shadow I'm very excited about this game
That Batboat looks freakin SWEET
Now you guys get to see what happened before i died. Also im comming back.
Bruce, what did i say about spoiling suicide squad?
@@arkham_Superman Clark, the game was spoilt to begin with.
I hated those trophies so much
Holy shit now I wish I had a meta quest. This looks like it’s way too much fun
I am going to buy a Meta Quest for this game.
Great game, my regret is I wont be playing, still looks aweome, hope people love playing arkam shadow.
The best standalone VR game ever made.
We're 100% getting two face. I can feel it
Wow it's... it's an actual
Arkham game... in vr... i'm stunned
I expect another trilogy or a sequel, this game is a little tease for gamers
That's what people don't realise, all they're doing is cry about it. We have so many years and so many stories to tell between origins and asylum.
Nope. It's full Metroidvania in world structure. This has been EXPLICITLY confirmed by the devs a whole bunch of times now.
Nope. It's full Metroidvania in world structure, just like its biggest influence Asylum. This has been EXPLICITLY confirmed by the devs a whooooole bunch of times now. 🤷
Iron Man VR otoh was SIGNIFICANTLY limited by the stupid weak hardware it had to run on (the PS4's CPU in particular is HORRENDOUSLY slow and PSVR1 like all VR needed stable, super high framerates to not make people vomit, which is exactly where you really need CPU not GPU performance; although the base PS4 wasn't particularly fast in the latter area either).
Camouflaj also didn't have anything even CLOSE to the full-fat AAA development budget that they got from Meta for Batman: Arkham Shadow (with it literally being the flagship 1st party Quest 3/3S title intended to launch the new $299 Quest 3S) that they did for Iron Man VR (which they made on a MUCH smaller AA budget BEFORE Meta bought them).
16:45 Ah, so this is the "Batman Arkham Shadow" from the title. Neat.
i'm glad the devs were able to translate arkham's gameplay into vr, if arkham shadow does well then i think it's about time a certain freindly neighbor hood superhero should recive his own vr game
Everyone said I was crazy when I said let camoflaj cook, not anymore
In the other Arkham games you can be the Batman. In this game you can BE the Batman.
You describing everthing the game has and the footage you provided just made me want to play this game soooo much i am getting my first vr a quest 3 just so i can buy this game i hope this revives the arkham franchise and do it justice instead of a certain game(ssktjl)
that was so awesome that they could just call up robert for a voice line, this game is going to be great
i need this game, i can finally feel sane again
Jonkler will jonk you up, with a lore reason
@@coltonbarnes7861 please bro i need my sanity don’t do this to me
I'm sold I love this game now
Looks like they actually nailed this game.
Can’t wait for this game!! Day 1 purchase for me
Dick appears!!! He does truly save bruces life!!! The devs know what there doing.
He does not
If I can go to the batcave and chang e into unlocked costumes like origins it'll be a 10/10 for me
I'm sighing in huge relief at the riddler break.
Awesome. I love the gold symbol suit
I really really really wanna play this…
But damn I can’t justify buying a 2nd vr headset to play one game
The lineup for the rest of the year is insane. Don't buy it just for Batman. Brian for Batman, Behemoth, aliens, Metro
@@CR00K__Gaming I just don’t play vr very often it’s kinda a thing I do once every 6 months or so
@@CR00K__Gaming sucks it ain’t on steam
It wouldve been really cool if they made this game for the quest 2 as well, the game is so exclusive and berley anyone has a quest 3
Seeing how well they managed to translate the Arkham style combat, I want to see a game like Sifu translated to VR.
I'm getting this game tomorrow!
And once you finish Arkham Shadow there are still TOOOOOOONS of great games to play on Quest!
12:49 "IT'S DA FREAKING BAT!"
i had my doubts but this is looking very promising. wish i could play it though. ive never had a vr. and probably won't get one. too expensive. been an arkham player since the start. this'll be the first one i miss😕
I can't wait!!!
Yoo big fan of u dude love you
This game is looking good i will buy it on steam to show support if they put it there
Those hours training at night wasnt for nothing after all
Actually... *remarkable.*
Looks pretty good, glad you had a nice experience with it. It's a real shame that this is stuck on VR, meaning the vast majority of people interested in it will never play it.
I hope that the game could get a pc/console build for those who dont have a quest 3 but want to enjoy the game in 2d or even connect the quest 2
New cardio: beatdown
Arkham Knight had the best batmobile nad bat-suit and it is not even close! They should use them for a future movie!
I'm really sad that I don't have a meta quest 3😢😢
Just wish a headset wasnt so expensive, but im definately gona try and get one when theyre on sale just for this game
i cant wait for the game
Thia looks amazing but I wish this was on Next Gen consoles
Rip Kevin conroy 🕊️🕊️🕊️
I need a meta quest asap😮
I wouldve hoped that it has side missions and an open world
I wish the combat was more cinematic they could’ve added a feature to make Batman do an elimination animation with ur help of moving hands, idk it looks too Arcady and doesn’t look brutal… I just want it to have really good combat maybe we’ll get something like that in the near future.
I'm not a massive Batman fan; I enjoyed the first season of Telltale's Batman series probably the most, but this game I'm extremely hyped for. Quest Games Optimizer may hopefully add a nice little graphical boost! 🤞🏼
I was debating buying the metaquest solely for arkham shadow
My parents can't get me a headset until 2 months after this comes out
