Tim takes his Chef status seriously!
IMO Trangia is the best system for "cooking meals" in the bush. all other stoves want to scortch and boil... But Trangia will be the Bush Chef's best friend!

Have a 25 and a 27 but I don’t use them as much as I’d like to. I think this year I’m going to try using only my Trangia and a reflector oven and see how I like it.
I could watch Tim cook all day

I like the Trangia and the Firebox Nano used for the windscreen.
You have an alcohol and stickstove option in one kit :)

Time is right, its pretty hard to beat a Trangia cook system.
I'm still using my Trangia Mini thanks to Tim and Canadian Outdoor Equipment Co.
    Have fun Kevin.
Maybe you'll make it back to Nova Scotia again.
    Cheers

I love the Trangias! I have a 27, a 25, a 28 and a ClickStand. It outperforms my iso canister stove in winter. Worth the money.

Those isobutane fuels don't vapourize that well at freezing temperatures, so alcohol stoves are it, right?

I just use a clamp - the one thats holds wood together while glueing it - and a small tripod. But I'd like to use something different. Any ideas?

I have been thinking for quite a while of getting this Trangia 27 set, but I am not sure which thickness I should get because they come in various thicknesses, maybe the middle one. I will order soon from Canadian OUtdoor Equipment.

I’m a huge fan of the Trangia burner.
I don’t particularly like the whole kit that comes with it. It’s too big and bulky. I can see convenience of it all nested neatly together. I just don’t like it.

Based on the video at this link (ua-cam.com/video/7uxf_-9bWg8/v-deo.html) you guys should be classified as type 4.5. The .5 represents the addition of canoes to type 4.

Why would anyone, out in the woods, use any other fuel to cook with besides wood??? Wood fire provides much better flavor than any liquid fuel

    • @theirishoutdoorcook1207
      @theirishoutdoorcook1207 2 роки тому

You don’t taste the liquid fuel at all. If
you do, which is extremely rare, you are not using it correctly and you shouldn’t be using it at all.

Some Parks and conservation areas do not permit open fires, especially in an extremely dry season.

@@scouternushka267It’s a small contained fire stove.
Those alcohol stoves are set up with caution especially among the surroundings by almost every user.
I’ve viewed hundreds of vids of many different people using them. Not once did I witness an accident or spillage.

When you see all the damage people do its a shame everyone doesn't use the systems instead of cutting and hacking everything within spitting distance of the site.

      @@priceanderson7336 you’re so wrong!
Why would anyone hack into green live wood. It’s useless and it doesn’t burn.
So you flip houses? The same principle could be applied. Ripping off people!
