    This is awesome! Love to see a grenadier here in Alaska. I offroad and tour with my Land Cruiser here, but I'm liking the Ineos more and more.

    This is amazing to see, well done. This is a once in a lifetime thing.
    I did this drive in summer this year with family. It was the most incredible thing i have done.
    Now the only this that will beat that adventure is doing this same drive in winter. 😊
    I have also had my eyes on the grenadier, waiting a few yrs for them to perfect the platform before i buy.
    Good luck with your future adventures 👍

    In Alaska, you can really get everywhere in a Prius, there isn't much "off roading" here. As long as you have an all wheel drive vehicle you can go almost anywhere (including the Dalton). If you want to go "Off Road" here you need an ATV in the summer or a Snow Machine in the winter.

    Very nice trip great job! I see the broken windshield has been fitted as standard. You can pretty much plan on needing a new windshield after every epic journey in a Grenadier. Jeeps are the same… it’s the nature of the beast for such a vertical windshield I’m afraid.

    Thomas…. Did you install any Arctic equipment on the car such as an electric block heater and/or battery warmer to make sure it started in the morning?

    • @ThomasGeigerCar
      @ThomasGeigerCar  Місяць тому +4

      @@pdbrown170b no we didn’t do any of that. We checked the defrost level of coolant and wiper fluid and gave the door seals a special grease wipe and that’s it.

      @ I live in Anchorage and have a new Grenny as well. It was about 0°F here for about 3 weeks and I am curious about how it will handle -40°F. So far mine hqsn’t even noticed the cold.

    • @99unclebob
      @99unclebob Місяць тому

      block heaters are not Arctic equipment, I am guessing you live in a warm climate, Block heaters you will find are installed in most Canadian cities where it is regularly below-25 or more, most modern cars start very well in the cold as long as they maintain the vehicle battery , even then when the temp drops below -30 or 35, the Grenadier has a big advantage with the battery mounted under the rear seat allowing for a 5 to 6 degree temp difference from outside in the engine compartment, we sometimes in the Central part of Canada have a block heater which is 450 watts and a battery blanket of 150 watts which help the vehicles in thesnesometimes crazy temps here in Canada, great video 👍

    The ignorance shown here towards this chap’s accent beggars belief; this is how Germanics speak English and probably this his third or fourth language so he’s doing well. Unlike Americans, he can actually pronounce Ineos correctly which is a great start…

      @ThomasGeigerCar  Місяць тому +1

      @@Reindeer_Games this is what makes a drive to a journey. But since there are lots of cars or at least trucks on the road, and there are some service points along the way, there is not much to worry. I would not cut it too close but with a bit of spare time and a can of spare fueland a bit of an adventurous spirit you’re definitely will be fine.

    I saw this vehicle at a sportsman show in Toronto in February of this year (2024). It looked very interesting, however, it has less articulation and suspension travel than a stock 5th gen 4Runner. Seen lots of people quitte the on road feel so much of out of a jeep due to the solid front axle. The fuel economy on this thing is very disappointing. On my vehicle, 2022 TRD off-road 4Runner, I have a rooftop tent with two 100 W solar panels, an LED light bar, ditch lights, steel front bumper with a winch, aftermarket steels skid plates and diff plate, larger 285/70 AT C load rated tires (x5), 12V 45L fridge/freezer, EcoFlow 2kWh power station, rear drawer set up, rear hatch ladder, 2x2 gallon rotopax mounted on window panels, recovery rope/shackle kit (my curb weight is 5100 lbs). I drove from Toronto to Tuktoyaktuk in 6 days there, and 7 days back (3 months ago), and I averaged 14.5L/100kms with its old designed 4L V6 and 5 speed transmission. On the very rough Dempster Hwy from Yukon to NWT (avg 60 kph), I actually did 12.5L / 100 kms. Basically with all my extra weight, added rolling resistance, air resistance I still better than a stock Grenadier’s 15L/100 kms is surprising.
