Perhaps you’re correct. It’s not a big issue for me since I’m a non-competitive guy just using the feature to stay healthy. Nie! Yes, keep it for a while and max at the value. I'll be curious to see what Apple does next year. 🤔 Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I would advise against using fast charging with your new Apple Watch. I got the Series 10 46mm titanium and to charge it I bought the old USB-A charger. Reason? I upgraded from a Series 7 and fast charging completely obliterated its battery health. And mind you that the Series 10 has even faster charging than the Series 7, 8 and 9. So people who get a Series 7 or later, go chill with the fast charging, it will destroy battery health even more than fast charging kills the iPhone's battery.
Seems like to test battery longevity we’d want to buy two series 10s, one charges with fast charging and the other with trickle charging. Wait for about a year and compare battery health. 🤔
@@mlegrand look I had the Series 2, 4, 7 and 10 and it's only the Series 7 that got its battery destroyed like this, it was also the first one that got fast charging and I used the fast charger to charge it every single time. So that's what killed it like this. It wouldn't have been the case with the regular charger. Btw it's obvious too because faster charging produces more heat and batteries degrade with heat. I just never thought it was this bad.
@@anthonyanthony2783 yeah you’re absolutely right. I had a series 7 for 3 years before upgrading to the 10 and I consistently fast charged the series 7 because I used it during the day and for sleep tracking and now the battery health is below 80% and would barely get me through a day. Now I use the series 7 for sleep tracking and just charge the series 10 with a slow charger overnight. Hopefully that will help preserve battery health.
Not related to this video specifically: what machine + software are you using?! I recently switched to Davinci but you're making me want to launch AE 😅
I've wanted to start using Davinci as well but I've had a hard time switching away from Premiere Pro and After Effects. I use an M1 Mac Book Pro but Apple keeps making faster computers so I'd love to eventually get an M4 machine of some sort. Hope Ethiopia is going well!
I think the Jet Black looks good. If this video does well, I'll do a review after 100 days with some macro lenses and look for scratches within the Jet Black watch body. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment Louis! I really appreciate it. 👍
I feel these devices are stuck in a rut. Screen and cpu efficiency isn’t there. Battery tech lags… my biggest grief with otherwise a great watch is complication refreshes lacking. I have a glucose sensor that spits out a reading every five minutes, but due to 3rd party limits in favor of limiting battery use, I don’t know if the reading is accurate or not without manually refreshing the complication… -thanks for nothing. Frustratingly, the same poor refresh is found on standby mode of the phone too, so certainly cages need to be rattled over at Apple.
The battery thing is super interesting. These watches must be running a lot of code in the background. It seems like tons of other brands have significantly better battery life options. And Apple keeps telling us that people are ok with one day of battery life. 🤷♂️ That being said, I'll still be super interested to see what they have coming up next.
@@mlegrand I imagine the watches have lots of code to factor. The arbitrary complication refresh limit has existed from day one however, which is always a bit jarring to me ten years later. But, Apple’s own complications don’t live by those rules. Some developers figured this out, and some savvy enough designed apps to write data as appointments every five minutes to iCloud calendars. (Glooroo, Sugarmate, Sweet Dreams) The downside to that being less watch face options that can suitably show the calendar complication.
I have 170mm wrists and wear the Black Ultra 2 on Black Ocean Band on weekends. The 46mm Slate Titanium on Midnight Braided Loop during the week. Both wear fine. 46mm looks better on you.👏🇦🇺

No, not the case for me at all. I tend to tighten my watch a little before every run. You’ll get dramatically better heart rate data this way. But even during the rest of the day it’s fine. I’d look and see how he’s wearing it. Only reason I mention that is because I noticed my sister-in-law wearing her watch super loose when filming some of these clips. Maybe that’s what people are used to doing?
@@mlegrand thank you for replying sir. I think he just needs to change his strap. M/L sports band he wears even on the inner most hole just barely holds and slips when he sweat. Thanks again.
It all changes all of the time. I'm switching around constantly. The Polar M3 that I'm testing is dead this morning so I'll probably put on this AWS10 but I haven't closed any rings over the past few days because I've been testing other things. On the other wrist is a T-Rex 3. If I had a 'daily driver' it'd probably be an Apple Watch of some sort on my right wrist and a Garmin Enduro on the other!?! 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. @@mlegrand Our US satellites (GPS) are run by the US NAVY and will take a while to go full L5. One place you could look for info is GPS.gov. I can select which satellites and bands I use for my measurements with my equipment, just to give you an idea of where my knowledge is.
I have small wrists, but I bought the 46 anyway (the price difference is negligible). Coming from a Series 6 40mm, the 46 actually feels lighter on my wrist because of the difference in material. Very happy I went with the bigger size.
Awesome! Also the fact that it’s thinner makes a big difference. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
You could totally buy the Series 7 as long as it isn't as scratched and beat up as my Series 7 😂 My main concern is that Apple will do a bigger and more aggressive update next year with more compelling new features but who knows 🤷♂️

I don't know . . . it's a hard call for me. The battery life is has been really really bad because of a bug in WatchOS 11. I love the slim design of this watch but the Ultra probably makes more sense for me personally and the things I like to do.
@@mlegrand Just take out the "42 vs 46mm" part. This video is not comparing the two. Its just a general overall review vid. Otherwise it is just click baity

Would you have clicked on it if it just said "Review"? Maybe the title should lean into having both watches for a month? Maybe something like "AWS 10 Review After having both the 42 and 46 for a month". Or is that too long?
I just used a sale and promotion to purchase my series 10 for 280.35 on Amazon The Resaon my series 6 will not be supporting my Dexcom continuous glucose monitor after next update I have the Dexcom G7 send my blood glucose reading every 5 minutes and it displays as a complication on both my 15 PM and series 10 .

Is jet black the way to go or do you think it looks like a fitness tracker 😮
I think the Jet Black looks good. If this video does well, I'll do a review after 100 days with some macro lenses and look for scratches within the Jet Black watch body. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment Louis! I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand learned so much from you I’m between decisions, used series 7 or just finance a series 10 or ultra 2 😮
My wrist size is 5.75in suggest me 42 mm or 46 mm?
I'd say the 42mm. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Me personally, me personally, me personally. Stuck record.
I'll try to work on that. Thanks for the suggested improvements.
I have 170mm wrists and wear the Black Ultra 2 on Black Ocean Band on weekends. The 46mm Slate Titanium on Midnight Braided Loop during the week. Both wear fine. 46mm looks better on you.👏🇦🇺
Nice! That's a pretty nice set up! I'll have a close look at the Black AWU 2 video coming up soon. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
my frien has 17cm wrist. he say it move everywhere when he exercise. it not the case of you?
No, not the case for me at all. I tend to tighten my watch a little before every run. You’ll get dramatically better heart rate data this way. But even during the rest of the day it’s fine. I’d look and see how he’s wearing it. Only reason I mention that is because I noticed my sister-in-law wearing her watch super loose when filming some of these clips. Maybe that’s what people are used to doing?
@@mlegrand thank you for replying sir. I think he just needs to change his strap. M/L sports band he wears even on the inner most hole just barely holds and slips when he sweat. Thanks again.
So Apple every day and testing other watches on the other wrist? I guess what I mean is Apple Watch is the daily driver?
It all changes all of the time. I'm switching around constantly. The Polar M3 that I'm testing is dead this morning so I'll probably put on this AWS10 but I haven't closed any rings over the past few days because I've been testing other things. On the other wrist is a T-Rex 3. If I had a 'daily driver' it'd probably be an Apple Watch of some sort on my right wrist and a Garmin Enduro on the other!?! 🤷♂️
Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Greg
Hi Rev. Tyler. Who is Greg?
The reason why you don’t see a big difference in GPS is because satellites mostly running L1. L5 is slowly coming alive.
Nice. Thanks for the additional info. Anywhere that you suggest I read more about L1/L5 satellites coming online?
@@mlegrand Our US satellites (GPS) are run by the US NAVY and will take a while to go full L5. One place you could look for info is GPS.gov. I’m a land surveyor and I use GNSS for most of my measurements which are sub 2 centermeter.
Is it worth the upgrade over the series 7 or could I save money and buy a used series 7 😮
You could totally buy the Series 7 as long as it isn't as scratched and beat up as my Series 7 😂 My main concern is that Apple will do a bigger and more aggressive update next year with more compelling new features but who knows 🤷♂️
Buying used electronics is never a good idea… in general.

I get easily 2 days battery life on my Apple Watch 10
Thanks for the feedback Miccakoster. What watch face do you use? Did you see any issues with WatchOS 11 and the Flux watch face? Anything else special that you're doing to get 2 days?
If u has to pick ultra vs series 10 is the battery a deal breaker 😮
I don't know . . . it's a hard call for me. The battery life is has been really really bad because of a bug in WatchOS 11. I love the slim design of this watch but the Ultra probably makes more sense for me personally and the things I like to do.
"42 or 46mm Edition?".......spends like 2 minutes comparing the sizes and then the rest general review of Series 10. 🤣
@Eric - suggestions for a title change? That's something I can change after posting the video. Not much I can do about the actual video at this point.
@@mlegrand Just take out the "42 vs 46mm" part. This video is not comparing the two. Its just a general overall review vid. Otherwise it is just click baity
@@EricK-vw5wh - Good suggestion Eric. My only concern is that the title "AWS 10 Review" would be the exact same title as about 1000 other videos out there. . . . 🤔 Personally, I don't think this qualifies as "click bait" but click bait is common on YT for a reason, it get's people to click. Would you have clicked on it if it just said "Review"? Maybe the title should lean into having both watches for a month? Maybe something like "AWS 10 Review After having both the 42 and 46 for a month". Or is that too long?
Yall I was just watching this video and guess what happened I got a 17 minute ad on the new MacBook M4 series 😭
I set up this video to only have ads before or afterwards and not mid-roll ads. 🤷🏻♂️
I love that! I've used a CGM before and it's an amazing tool but having to check my phone all the time wasn't nearly as nice as something like having it sent directly to a watch face complication. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
