I just got the series 9 pink for my birthday earlier this year. I don’t see a need to upgrade to the series 10 so I’ll hang on to my series 9 for now. Good review.
I'm curios what problems might you be having with sleep tracking. Some days it works some days no data some days blue blocks no breakdown of different sleep stages.
First time coming across this channel. Even though your channel name is Apple Bias, I felt that you were really honest and not so biased at all. Gained a subscriber
Thanks that means a lot. Yeah I had fun with naming the channel I figured since I saw other creators being called bias towards Apple so I figured I get a jump on it. 😁 Thanks for the sub too that’s awesome. Hope to keep making content that you’d want to watch. Never hesitate to request some.
I have the Series 7 in stainless steel and was planning to upgrade. I feel like the bezels on the Series 10 are huge, and it's noticeable as soon as you hold it, I was surprised when I tried it on at the Apple Store. It actually feels like a downgrade, and the slightly rounded corners make it feel more like a knock-off Apple Watch than the real deal! What do you think about it? And how is it dealing with scratches?
I totally agree. It looks like a fitbit or some other weird watch due to the added width. Kinda looks like a black pebble, even the titanium models. I'll hold off upgrading until they give it a Series 7 like reduction of the bezels. Ideally that will be next year but i feel like it might take until the 12. I have a 9 SS currently, so I can wait, but the thin/lighter aspects of the 10 are very nice.
I didn’t mind the bezels. What I really don’t like is that it seems a lot bigger on my wrist than my old SE, the 42mm is way big to me. I should have gone with the 9.
I bought the ultra 2 last year thinking I needed the bigger battery. Now I’ve noticed I don’t sleep with my ultra anymore because it’s uncomfortable, so I’m considering trading my ultra in for a series 10 because it’ll be more comfortable on the wrist and I don’t need 3 days of battery
I for one am seriously loving my 10. Still haven’t gotten my Ultra back from my son. Really only getting it back because the flat screen is better for filming.
@renegade5368 well I went a little crazy this year this is the natural titanium in the video but since I filmed this I picked up the Hermes one cause it is silver like the other one. But it is pricey because of the band.
Yeah I missed that I knew they added it to the Ultra 2 but never had confirmation on the 9 and just didn’t think about it when I said it. So really only upgrade from the 9 is titanium and screen size.
Great Review. How is the durability against scratches on the Sapphire Crystal in Titanium AW? Are there scratches on the glass? What would you recommend, the Aluminum or Titanium version for more Scratch Resistance? Apple Watch 10 will be my First Apple Watch!
Sapphire screen is amazing and I’ve never been able to scratch it after 10 years of owning a steel or titanium watch. I ran into a brick wall once and though I had but I honestly too a Brillo pad (not recommended) to it and it was a piece of the brick stuck to the screen and the pad cleaned it off and didn’t scratch the screen either. This is all stuff the aluminum model def couldn’t handle.
I just upgraded from my series 6 to the new 10 aluminum after I found out Apple would give me $85 for the 6 and I didn’t think it was worth anything really. So far I like the new watch.
@@TheAppleBias I got a black watch with a denim sports band this time. I also upgraded my 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max a few weeks ago and I have the iPad Pro 12.9 6th gen iPad. Love my Apple devices 😃
The screen size and glossy finish of the 10 makes a huge difference for me. The Series 9 matte finish made it look toy-like. The 10 looks more mature and elegant, without the higher price tag. I think the 10 is the first Apple base watch with a glossy finish. Also, the two new watch faces of which the second hand keeps ticking in always-on mode are also very stylish, especially the Reflections face.

Now, I don’t have a problem with the battery since I charge my Ultra every night anyway so charging the 10 is no biggie. I also have several Apple battery packs. Yes. Or I should say, is it easy to differentiate from say a 9, 7, 5? I suppose your titanium 10 cost you close to the Ultra. I am leaning towards the jet black.
You are too kind. I still have a lot to learn with the UA-cam stuff. But I still love it after these years so not planning to slow down. I don’t think the 10 stands out enough against the 7/8/9 to get noticed in the crowd. The ultra def did that when it first came out. Also I just filmed a Jet Black unboxing video. It’s a gorgeous watch. That video should be up on Saturday and I plan to do another with it with all my bands. Which will probably be out sometime next week.
Thanks for this video, it's really interesting to see that you let your Ultra for the 10. Is it really worth it for long time ? I have the ultra 2, and I love its features, well i'm still thinking about this new 10 for some reasons, but is it really worth it ? The crazy way is to buy the 10's and keep the ultra 2 aside. Speaker playback use case: get in your swimming pool and listen to a podcast or an audio book. No airpods will survive the pool and Bluetooth speakers are definitely not designed for private listening.
Yeah I just mentioned that to someone else when they mentioned using it in the shower. I wish I could try it into the pool but ours is closed cause we live in Ohio. 👎👎
I think the Ultra 2 can display the second hand full time. I have the Ultra and it seems a hardware change is necessary. Right now I changed the option to display for 70 seconds and will determine the effect on battery life.
Yeah I’ve always use the 70 second wake on mine helps a ton with video. Doesn’t seem to have a big impact on battery. But yeah only watch that I know that can do the second hand is the series 10 with the new display.
@ Turns out I like listening to it in bed - some podcast or music that puts me to sleep. Wish it had a way to stop playing with a timer, as you can with the iphone.
which make more sense cause that is how watches work. They give you the overall size of the watch not just the screen. So it never had anything to do with the screen, but usually larger case = larger screen until now.
There is watch faces with the second hand moving all the time I have one on my watch and using it right now on my watch series 10 46mm. This is my first Apple Watch and I love the bigger face on it. I have been waiting for that without the ultra costs.
Yeah taking phone calls is all I do with mine someone did mentioned using it in the shower (that’s charging time for mine) but when summer comes back around I want to try it out by the pool.
Does it show up in your health checklist yet? To see go into the health app on your phone tap your avatar in the top right corner and then tap on health check list and see if it’s in there. If not then hopefully it will be when 18.1 and 11.1 release probably next week.
@@NickW90 yeah based on the article I just read it was approved but Apple just has to expand it and no info on that yet. Sadly with Apple they may hold off until they have multiple locations to release it to at once so the press release looks better. www.macrumors.com/2024/09/27/apple-watch-sleep-apnea-feature-approved-in-canada/
@@kanakgajjar6243 I've already been diagnosed with sleep apnea so I don't need to be screened for it… but the blood oxygen sensor on the apple watch series 6 is essential!
you should the 11.1 betas got it later. You can check it by going to the Health app on the phone. Tap on your profile pic at the top right then go to Health Checklist and it should so up there, just make sure the notification are turned on for it.
Yes, sleep apnea is tracked but Apple will ask you if you have sleep apnea if you say, yes the app will tell you it is only for those who are not diagnosed. It sucks for those with sleep apnea since, it won’t track your progress.
@thecooldude4564 yeah I think the main point of it right now is just detection for those that don’t know they have it. It may expand more next year when hopefully all watches have the O2 sensors turned back on. After this ban on it in the US is figured out.
Your videos are what helped we switch back from the Ultra. I loved my Ultra just noticeable heavy. I was always a stainless steel Apple watch girl! So I like weight to my watch, but also miss the the classy look of the Stainless steel now titanium. I'm going to miss the battery life & action button. Waiting for my 46 MM Gold Titanium to come in the mail. Any issues with bands? I've always owned the larger variant watches.
No issues with bands if you haven’t seen my band video on it here it is ua-cam.com/video/LJeTV5N6Z4A/v-deo.html far as the action button goes if you watch my double tap video it shows how you can kinda make it an action button.
No Apple doesn’t use the O2 sensor for sleep apnea detection. Since it’s disabled on all of the new watches in the US they used other methods to detect it.
Thanks for the videos! Especially because I’m a relative novice to the Apple Watch and I don’t understand the double taps. So I’ll have to check those out. PS. What’s the hoodie you’re wearing, it’s pretty cool? Thnx
Thanks for watching happy that the video helped in some way. The Hoodie is Tek Gear, it's from kohl's. I have 4 of them and probably buying another this winter. If you haven't noticed yet, I just wear the same thing every video (and every day of my life, other than Sundays) it keeps things simple. 🤓
Great video! Your demo reminded me of the audio playback on the series 10. I haven’t ever been able to get it to work. When I play something it automatically plays from the iPhone and I can’t find a setting or way to play it from the watch. Any ideas? I don’t want to do it regularly but I want to know how it sounds 😂
@@TheAppleBias I figured it out! You have to hit the play to other media devices and add the Apple Watch as an option. Who knew it wouldn’t just be on by default! How weird but now I can try it lol. Thanks!
I have the ultra and also the series 10 I have both the series 10 feels small and it just have a beautiful display batty life sucks nothing like the ultra
Bought my first apple watch (SE2022) october last year to check if apple watch actually was useful to me and if I enjoyed it. Sold it and bought a used ultra 1 in May this year. Will probably only have ultra watches in the future😅 so good
Nice! Yeah the Ultra is definitely a hard watch to leave. I still plan to get mine back from my son to wear and use on some occasions. Also the flat screen of the ultra is way better for videoing. Less glare. So it will be showing back up on the channel a lot as well.
Great video fella. I really like the series 10 (I’ve not had a series watch for a while) but I miss that ultra watchface so find myself still wearing the Ultra a lot of the time. I wear them both each day though (ultra has cellular for working out too).
Yeah that modular ultra face was so perfect. It’s the only thing I really miss. I moved my cellular over to the series watch. I do look forward to getting the ultra back from my son here soon for filming the flat screen is so much easier with less glare.
I got the series 10 in gold titanium and it feels a lot more premium than my standard Series 6. I wear the series 10 though the day and the series 6 to track sleep. One damn annoying thing I have found is when I turn off the alarm in the morning on my sleep watch, the alarm will still go off on the watch that is on the charger. UGGGGG. Come on Apple. Both watches get my alarm from my watch. WHY don't both watches turn off the alarm in the morning. SP02 is the reason I bought the series 6 as I have sleep apnea. I heard those patents run out in 2027.
Yeah they do but I think Apple will have it back on before that. Right now it’s just an import ban in the US. Apple filed an Appeal back in April and just last month the CEO of Masimo resigned cause he was removed from the board by investors. So hopefully we get some more movement soon.
Love these videos. I really wanted to love the 10 but just couldn’t sleep with it (and somehow the bezel, bigger than on the 7, bothered me). I sent it back, kept my ultra 2, but then got a very on sale se2 (40mm) which I use only for sleep tracking. Yes, I don’t get all of the metrics but it’s been great.
Haha yeah I made multiple shorts on the Vision Pro and this was a clip from one of them. I put it in there for fun since I didn’t have any other basketball clips to choose from. Here’s the short - ytlink.app/BpF9gUqD
Yeah my issue with them is that they don’t work with the Series 10 in always on mode. Only the Flux, Reflection keep the second hands on all the others it disappears
@@TheAppleBias I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why on earth anyone needs a second hand. If you want to time a race, use a stopwatch app. None of my watch faces have second hands.
@@TheAppleBias Good idea! Such a video will definitely be popular. Garmin is not that good at notifications. And what I have not yet seen with any technovlogger: obviously Apple installs better pulse sensors, but no one knows exactly which version from which model at which manufacturer. At least for sports with short strenuous phases, such as football, weightlifting, Apple is recommended. Garmin models from 2 years ago do not register some sprints or sets at all. Although in itself Garmin should be better as a pure fitness tracker for hikers, runners and mountaineers
@blaaxx7 good to know yeah I’ll make a note and probably pick one up arriving Black Friday or something to do a video at the beginning of the year for the new year resolution fitness crowd.
That’s good to know. I know they added to to the ultra 2 but never got confirmation on the 9. Thanks for letting me know. So yeah pretty much just the screen is the only reason to upgrade.
I have an 8 and a 9. Not the least bit interested in double tap. Two negatives about Apple ; 1. watch faces suck 2. battery life. I use an older Fitbit around ankle for miles and steps, apple for health. No oxygen data on apple 9 and Ultra 2. and up until 2028. No upgrades till 2028.
You may want to look into a smart ring instead on putting a Fitbit on your ankle. I think something will be settled on the blood oxygen before 2028. Probably by next year.
I have it coming today but I don’t plan on testing that. My guess is that it’s probably fairly tough but will still scratch if you hit something just right. Just like the iPhone and Mac’s scratch
for the music on your apple watch i know exactly what i'd use it for (i have series 3 btw) i play my video games and i love to play with my music on, i have the airpods pro 2 but when i play music on my airpods wile im playing, its kinda distracting, the music being played directly in your ear kinda blocks out the sound from my computer, so i usually use my phone in the background to play music, which drains my battery, though very slowly; playing my games for long periods of time could either make my phone die completely or lower battery, using the apple watch series 10 for background music, that can charge fully in 30 minutes, would be a huge help for me cause i can play my games with the background music wile not sacrificing my phone's battery (not a lot of it in a way, cause its still connected to the phone, unless if i get cellular on the watch) | that's what i'd use the music for and maybe when you're working out you could use the music feature, i know you can use airpods but sweat could go onto the airpods effecting maybe the quality? or the texture, unless if youre working out in a gym or outside, then just use your airpods, nobody wants to hear your music 💀

@ Turns out I like listening to it in bed - some podcast or music that puts me to sleep. Wish it had a way to stop playing with a timer, as you can with the iphone.
Upgraded from the Series 3. Day and night comparison.
Oh wow yeah that’s a massive upgrade in all areas.
Same! I barely used the 3..loving 10
I love this & it’s my first watch I’m amazed & I was worried about battery life but I get a full day and charging is extremely fast
So glad to hear. I am loving mine as well.
The 46mm may refer to the band size? Just a thought.
Width
According to google's AI: The 49 mm on an Apple Watch refers to the size of the case on the Apple Watch Ultra.
which make more sense cause that is how watches work. They give you the overall size of the watch not just the screen. So it never had anything to do with the screen, but usually larger case = larger screen until now.
Hey I like the combo. Is it color natural titanium 46mm? And which band are you using which color?
Yeah this is the natural titanium with the natural colored Milanese loop
@@TheAppleBiasthank you 🙏 and it is the 46mm?
Yep
There is watch faces with the second hand moving all the time I have one on my watch and using it right now on my watch series 10 46mm. This is my first Apple Watch and I love the bigger face on it. I have been waiting for that without the ultra costs.
Yeah it’s just the new ones those. It’s the Flux and Reflection only old one is a digital face called Activity
I’ve been using the audio playback all the time
Really where all do you use it and is it for music or just talking audio?
I use the better speaker for taking calls. It's a step toward just using the watch as your phone. I upgraded from a nine because I wanted cellular.
Yeah taking phone calls is all I do with mine someone did mentioned using it in the shower (that’s charging time for mine) but when summer comes back around I want to try it out by the pool.
Grate video! What Smart ring do you use? I’m interested in buying one
It's the RingConn gen 2 (ringconn.com). I am about to review the ultrahuman air one as well. ringconn.com
I’m in Canada with a series 10 and i read online sleep apnea is approved for Canada. Do you know when that update will come?
Does it show up in your health checklist yet? To see go into the health app on your phone tap your avatar in the top right corner and then tap on health check list and see if it’s in there. If not then hopefully it will be when 18.1 and 11.1 release probably next week.
@@TheAppleBias yeah it’s there but says it’s unavailable in my region. I’m on 11.1 beta 5
Hello! What’s your wrist size, in mm, and the Milanese bracelet it’s the M/L version or S/M?
I’m about 180-185 and I went with the large. It’s perfect. If your close go larger cause it will make getting it over your hand easier.
@ I’m 170/175mm, not sure if I should get the S/M or M/L Milanese bracelet (I got the M/L standard one, the sport)
I think I’d still go for the larger. It shouldn’t be too big and the more wrapping the better in my opinion.
I use series 10, and at night I sleep track with series 6
Isn’t that counterintuitive? Series 10 has sleep apnea detection so it’d be more useful than series 6
I would sleep track with series 10 and use the series 6 for about an hour each day to charge up the 10
@@kanakgajjar6243 I've already been diagnosed with sleep apnea so I don't need to be screened for it… but the blood oxygen sensor on the apple watch series 6 is essential!
I agree the ultra watch face is the best it’s my go to face for daily use hehe
It really is no other compare which has been the hardest thing about moving away from it these last few weeks.
You do nice work 🤙🏼
Thanks! Appreciate that.
So wait if I’m on 11.0.1 I don’t have sleep apnea tracking yet?
you should the 11.1 betas got it later.
Thanks for the honest review 👍😊
Happy to do so. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video.
My guy had 1000 + calories burned and 106 min of exercise , nice !!!!💪🏻🔥
Thanks. Working on getting healthier and enjoying it.
17 out of 24 hours standing is even crazier💀💀
@ngasham257 🤣 I didn’t even notice that.
@@TheAppleBias Thank you for your response! Love your content!!
The action button is something I really like for the flashlight but I guess I can activate it via the screen.
@justmy2pesos yeah or you could use the accessibility gestures to activate it.
@@TheAppleBias once again, you come up with the best advise! Thanks!!!
Isn't oxygen data necessary for Sleep Apnea ? Just got a upgrade for
my 9 .
I disabled spo2 tracking…. Is it a good sensor to keep active? I want to minimise the battery drain and I never had problems with blood spo2.
@_icscata_ I doubt it causes much battery life loss. I’d keep it enabled.
No Apple doesn’t use the O2 sensor for sleep apnea detection. Since it’s disabled on all of the new watches in the US they used other methods to detect it.
2:30 how do you get that time at the top without using the digital time complication?
It’s an app called widget smith. I created one on my own at one time but this guy did it way better and this part of the app is free.
I wish Apple would bring over the ultra watch faces too. I really like dark mode
Yeah I think a dark mode face could make it over to the series eventually. I really hope we get some better faces next year.
Bring back the blood oxygen sensor and allow the series 10 to have the dark mode watch faces and this would be the perfect watch in my opinion.
I agree. Hopefully we will get the O2 sensor back for those of us in the US by sometime next year.
Try going into control center on the watch and hit the AirPlay button and see if you can select the Apple Watch there.
Yeah nothing can live up to the ultra’s battery, but the faster charging of the series 10 helps.
Se is still best 😅
Love these videos. I really wanted to love the 10 but just couldn’t sleep with it (and somehow the bezel, bigger than on the 7, bothered me). I sent it back, kept my ultra 2, but then got a very on sale se2 (40mm) which I use only for sleep tracking. Yes, I don’t get all of the metrics but it’s been great.
We all have our preferences. No judgement here. I slept with the ultra so this one for me feels amazing.
Great review! Can you share which app is showing the widget for water and distance when you're demoing the double tap ?
Water is apps.apple.com/us/app/water-tracker-by-waterminder/id653031147 and the Step Counter is apps.apple.com/us/app/pedometer/id712286167
upgraded from aw7 ss to aw10. i hope worth it.
Nice. I think you’ll enjoy it. Which model/color did you get?
@@TheAppleBias 46mm silver titanium. my country need preorder, too long to wait 7/11.
Ouch yeah that’s a wait. But it will be worth the wait.
The Vision Pro vs Apple Watch Ultra and basketball 🏀 moments 😂
Haha yeah I made multiple shorts on the Vision Pro and this was a clip from one of them. I put it in there for fun since I didn’t have any other basketball clips to choose from. Here’s the short - ytlink.app/BpF9gUqD
I love Vision Pro basketball lol
Yeah I filmed it for a short earlier in the year and figured it be funny to place in there. Glad you enjoyed it.
The Utility watch face has a sweep second hand. That's what I use.
Yeah my issue with them is that they don’t work with the Series 10 in always on mode. Only the Flux, Reflection keep the second hands on all the others it disappears
@@TheAppleBias I have to tell you, my second hand does not disappear. And it's always on.
@@TheAppleBias I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why on earth anyone needs a second hand. If you want to time a race, use a stopwatch app. None of my watch faces have second hands.
thank you for the review
No problem. Thanks for watching it!
I absolutely have to have the latest tech, 😂❤😊 that’s me for sure 👍 lol
Nice, well we are def not alone a lot of like minded people in the comments as well. Thanks a ton for taking the time to watch the video.
Great review! I love my S9 but the next AW will be a ultra model 😁
Nice you thinking the ultra 2 or holding out till next year?
I’ll wait for the next Ultra, though the Ultra 2 in black is just 🔥🤩.
@_icscata_ yeah it looks pretty great.
Awesome video! Thx.
Thanks and thanks for watching the video!
I have Series 6 for the gym and Garmin for vacations and multi-day trips. Sorry, but I won't buy an Apple Watch until the battery lasts a week.
To each their own. I may have to do a video where I use the Garmin for a week or something because so many people seem to like that thing.
Apple Watch 10 the best watch I ever purchase amazing ❤❤
I agree I am loving mine. I get the link band today. Can’t wait to see how well it matches.
Good video but clean your nightstand.
😂 I know it horrible. I really need to just buy a new one cause the glass stuff is such a pain to keep clean.
The Series 9 does have Sleep Apnea detection
That’s good to know. I know they added to to the ultra 2 but never got confirmation on the 9. Thanks for letting me know. So yeah pretty much just the screen is the only reason to upgrade.
Indeed, I have it on my S9. 😊
I wanna know ,does jet black one scratch easily???
I have it coming today but I don’t plan on testing that. My guess is that it’s probably fairly tough but will still scratch if you hit something just right. Just like the iPhone and Mac’s scratch
Reddit says they do…but it’s Reddit so sometimes things get blown out of proportion.
We need live complication for heart rate and steps!
Yeah for steps you’re gonna have to go third party. If Apple hasn’t added it yet I don’t think they will.
I wonder if you can go to Canada or Mexico to buy the Apple Watch and get the oxygen censor?
It’s be interesting to see. I should get a passport and try it one day I’m in Ohio. Probably a good 7-10 hour drive to Canada.
No use my ultra 2 more
Ultra is an amazing watch.
Lacks pulse ox info
yeah for those of us in the US it will. Everyone else still gets it and hopefully we will get it back sooner than later.
for the music on your apple watch i know exactly what i'd use it for (i have series 3 btw)
i play my video games and i love to play with my music on, i have the airpods pro 2 but when i play music on my airpods wile im playing, its kinda distracting, the music being played directly in your ear kinda blocks out the sound from my computer, so i usually use my phone in the background to play music, which drains my battery, though very slowly; playing my games for long periods of time could either make my phone die completely or lower battery, using the apple watch series 10 for background music, that can charge fully in 30 minutes, would be a huge help for me cause i can play my games with the background music wile not sacrificing my phone's battery (not a lot of it in a way, cause its still connected to the phone, unless if i get cellular on the watch) | that's what i'd use the music for
and maybe when you're working out you could use the music feature, i know you can use airpods but sweat could go onto the airpods effecting maybe the quality? or the texture, unless if youre working out in a gym or outside, then just use your airpods, nobody wants to hear your music 💀
After taxes plus paying for extra warranty it’s over $500 not worth it for a disposable watch
All depends on the person to me and many other it is very much worth it.
Do you think you can polish the titanium case to remove micro scratches like stainless steel?
Do you think you can polish the titanium case to remove micro scratches like stainless steel?
I dont know yet I will probably try it and make a video on it once I do more research.
