I'm torn about which to pick. I'm rocking a gen 1 SE, and having a hard time justifying only a 2mm upgrade; although the viewable area is much larger than the SE. However, the 46mm seems a better value, but also show-boat-y. Despite my wrist being just over 7", the 46mm shouldn't really overlap, but I think I'm leaning towards the 42mm on aesthetic grounds.
@@artemismoonrose the 42mm on the 10 is the same screen size as the 45mm watch size on the 8 and 9 series . So when you are looking at the screen on the 45mm older watches you are really looking at the 10's screen size .
@@Sertao2013 Ah, now that's very useful to know, I nearly went for the 46 but with my 7" wrist I think I'm going for the 42 now. Thanks for the helpful info!
I am still unsure which one to choose. Sadly for me Apple now makes two sizes of their products: one too small and one too big. 44mm was perfect for me.
Ultimately wear whatever you want of course. My brother’s wife has tiny wrists and wears the large. The watch is physically bigger than her wrist. The strap drops at a sharper angle than vertical drop from the “lugs”. Honestly it looks ridiculous but… that’s fine. She likes it. The rule of thumb is that as long as the strap “wraps” around your wrist (doesn’t drop vertically) it’s ok. For the 46mm I would say that 6-6.5” wrist is probably around the minimum wrist size for that watch. Ya it might look “better” on a larger wrist 7”+ but you can’t get away with it down to about 6-6.5”. But again… totally up to you. Like have a 6.5” wrist and buy the large ones and they look fine to me. I was worried the S10 might be pushing it but it’s only 1mm taller and I tried it on and it’s fine. I hope they don’t make it any bigger though,
Thank you for your comment. I have the series 8 45mm and was worried going to 46mm with my 6" wrist but 42 is still small. I have aging eyes. If it's not as heavy that would be better because my series 8 45mm is a bit heavy.
What's crazy is that this year's "small" size was the "large" size in the original Apple Watch; they launched in 38mm and 42mm. I had a 42 back then, have had a 44mm Series 4 since that came out. I'm seriously debating going back down in size this time, probably going to go into the store to try them on first.
just to give you a idea of sizes the 10's 42mm screen size is the same as the older 45mm watch size like the 8 ans 9 series . So on the 10 series you are really getting a 45mm watch sizes screen size . The 42mm is big enough for most people . The 46 looks like you are wearing a garmin oregon 200 gps hand held unit . the garmin hand held units screen is actually 42mm wide .
I've always considered going with the larger size but after seeing this I'm so glad got the small one again, that big one would be too big for me :) Great comparison!
You're one of the very few reviewers that have the Silver Aluminum Series 10. Finally, thank you! Too many people getting either Titanium and/or Jet Black. I'm contemplating getting Silver or Jet Black. I'm on the fence still waiting for people to advise on how prone to scratches the Jet Black watch is.
as per the redditors, the jetblack is a total scratch magnet just like the jetblack iphone. I was leaning towards it on release date, but now Im sure ill go for the silver cos Im planning to use it for 4 to 5 years. Haha
This has been the most revealing video I've seen so far about how the new Apple Watches look on the wrist. They just look amazing. The black looks so sporty, like a sports tracking device, but the silver with the white band looks so appealing too... I'm struggling to make up my mind, honestly. I really don't know what to do. I will mainly use it for tracking vitals and sleep so I may go for the 42 mm despite I have a 7,8in wrist. I think it will look more like a band and less like a watch since I enjoy wearing watches everyday and I don't intend to stop wearing them. So again, going for the sports band look I'm inclined to buy the black but I'm not very fond of the color. Could you do a video about both the black and silver watches with different bands? maybe adding shots of them in your wrist. I think it would be an amazing video.
Bought a 46 and returned it since it just looked too big on my 7.5" wrist. My thoughts were "why not just tie an iphone to your wrist?" Just too big for my taste. I then bought a 42 and it looks and feels right, although I'd try a 44 if one were available.
I got the 46mm and love it. I came from a 45mm. It doesn’t seem that big to me. The 10 is definitely lighter and I love the jet black with my sport loop band. I have all color sport loop bands. Great review
Perfectly informative and casually persuasive -- like hanging out with a knowledgeable friend. Great video. I prefer the 42 and now have the knowledge and permission to commit.
Great video CJ, and just what I was looking for. I wanted the 46 so badly, I thought that it would be better for my 76 year old eyes, but I tried one on at the store and thought that it looked like an iPad sitting on my 6.5 inch wrist. I will be going with the 42.
As a woman with an average wrist size (never thought I’d say that lol), I went and got my watch today and ended up with the 46mm! Personally I love it. Once I get a different band aside from the black one that came with it (too much black in my opinion makes it look clunkier and less sleek), it’ll be even better! It’s a gorgeous watch and a beautiful display!
46mm all the way! I’m more torn on materials. I’ve scratched both screen and casing on 3 regular AWs (S4, SE and S7). My Ultra 1 has 0 scratches. I wanna swap to S10 for the smaller bulk, but if I don’t go titanium I fear scratches again.

My wrist is 180mm and have bought 42 mm varient, also I got bored with the transparent protector so just ordered the ultra converter case, this is the best watch out there
I have a 7-inch wrist, and since I wear suits a lot for work, I don’t want my watch to make me look like Ben 10 when paired with a suit. Maybe I’m overthinking it because I’m used to wearing more traditional watches which are 40mm and 42mm for work.
Honestly, I don’t regret it at all. It looks amazing! I use it at the gym when lifting, and I barely notice it’s there. More importantly, I can wear the 42mm with a shirt and cuffs without it looking ridiculous, unlike the 46mm, which feels like having an iPad strapped to your wrist. To me, the watch complements my phone. I don’t need to read a message and then respond on the watch. If I get a message or email, it’s just a prompt to pull out my phone or laptop; I’m not watching videos on a watch, so I don’t need a larger screen. That said, take my opinion with a grain of salt: I wear traditional watches (I’m a watch guy) and prefer more classic sizes. The 42mm works better for formal attire, in my opinion. I can wear it to work on the Milanese strap, and it looks amazing while offering more functionality than a traditional Swiss watch, which is really just jewelry in 2024. But keep in mind, I’m a watch person so I tend to overthink my watches but most people won’t care what you have on your wrist or its size. This is just my perspective.
It seems as if 42 looks the best on you; in that size you could even dress it. Seems more versatile. The larger one looks good as long as it is a casual/urban style. So seems more limited
I have the Apple Watch Series 5 40mm and I have loved it. My wrist is tiny and the big one is too big. I will get the series 10 in the 42mm. Rose gold is my pick.
I’m so mad 😡 that they got rid of the stainless steel version. That material is the only material (metallic) that I’ve not had a reaction to. I did a lot of research when I purchased my first Apple Watch, and decided to go with the stainless steel, and have not gone back. Now my series 4 is in need of an upgrade, and now I don’t know which to pick (definitely not choosing Hermes, which is their only stainless store option now)… anyway nice video.😊
I just ordered the black one today. I’ll be coming next week on Tuesday, but I can’t wait to try it on my wrist and I’ll tell you every day. I’ll be going out walking. This will get my levels up in my steps.
Wow... this decision has plagued me for months! So great I found this video. Now if you could only help me with another even more difficult choice.... trying to decide which eye I should use when winking at someone......
I traded in my 44 mm Watch 5 to Verizon for a new 46 mm Watch 10 last week. I carried a iPhone Mini for 2 years and almost cried when Apple discontinued it and currently carry a iPad Mini almost everywhere I go but when it comes to watches I prefer the larger screen
The 46mm seems to look better on you but maybe it’s the black watch and band color that is just a better combo on your wrist? I actually prefer the black on black on my wrist. It would have been nice to see the same 42mm combo in black on the other wrist. Either way, I enjoyed your comparison and info. Keep it coming. 👍
I have a 6 inch(15 cm) wrist but i like the big screen. When i tried the 46mm it just looked a bit big on me. Should i go for the 42mm to have more sleek look?!
Just ordered the 42mm. Go for it. Much more lighter and doesn’t stick out. One thing i noticed is it displays the same amount of info apart some texts.
S4 44mm was the perfect size. I’ll have to try the 46 to see if it’s too big otherwise I’ll have to go with the much smaller option 42. But 44mm wrist straps will work on the 46 model.
I have issues with my watch causing my wrist/arm to hurt even though it’s not tight and where it’s supposed to go, but I want to pick up the 42mm because it’s lighter, hoping if I do it’ll help this issue.
I went from my rose gold series 5 to the aluminum silver 10, and what a great watch. I got the 42 and I sure hope it doesn’t go any bigger in the future!
You said the band is Midnight. Are you sure about that? Think the Midnight is an older colorway and the new one coming with the Series 10 is Ink, right? Also, would Sport Loop be good for gym and physical activities, or would the sweat absorb making it hard to clean? Does cleaning involve just sticking them in the washer?
Thought I was just an average sized guy but my wrists seem to be significantly larger than other people's on here at 8 1/8". Was thinking about going with the more compact 42mm size but my wrist size is over the 200mm max (42mm Fits 130‑200mm wrists) so I think I would have no choice here but to go with the larger 46mm size.
Unless I changed my mind and go change it, I'll have the 42mm I ordered. I'm a guy with thin wrists, but normally I would still take the big one. When I tried in the shop, the big one looked ridiculously big, and the 42 looked normal, including what's on the screen, so… Actually, the 46, even though the case is smaller than the Ultra, seemed visually even bigger to me.
guys help me out, what colour should i choose? i like the black one a lot but i would get the silver one if the black one gets scratches way easier because of the glossy finish. help me out
Excellent video! Exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ll be going with the 42mm Series 10. Same size screen as my 44mm Series 6 but with a lighter and smaller body!
Yes. You can set up the orientation. The guy reviewing is right hand dominant so he didn’t change the orientation. Wouldn’t make sense. He’s just comparing the 2 sizes and colors.
I honestly think 46mm looks appropriate for wrists 7.4 inches and above, 7inch and below 42 will always look much better unless you have issues with your eyes and need the bigger screen to read the text then go with 46.
I have both watches , I,m used sleeping with the ultra. But for sleeping the series 10 is definitely less noticeable. I use the ultra often in the day but in the evening and sleeping the small series 10 is really nice
A little odd, but I used to be an Android user but switched to iPhone last year and have been using my old Samsung Watch 3 but have been thinking about getting the new series 10. The watch works for notifications, but it's slow and has been somewhat off with fitness tracking. My galaxy watch 3 is a 45 mm watch, but I wasn't sure how the sizes compare between the two since they're different style cases. I have a 160 mm wrist if that means anything. I appreciate any feedback!
First I watched your reviewed and it helped me decide to upgrade from the series 7 to the series 10 46 jet black and loving it. Question I have do you have a cover for the watch and if so which one would you recommend or not? Thank you I also subscribed.
Thank you for the video - I have 6,2 inch wrist (tried to convert it from cm) and still cannot decide it, my current watch is 41 mm and sometimes I think a bigger screen would be better. I think I will try it on my wrist in an apple store but based on your video I started to like the 46 mm watch better :D
interested in buying my first Apple Watch ever question is do i get the series 9 the 45 mm or 10 the 46 mm or the new Ultra not very techy at age 59 i like all the health features and being able to use it as a golf watch great review by the way ordering the 16 Pro Max iphone in black with 512gb pretty excited about both cheers from Vulcan Canada
Yo no need to tear off that wrap around the watch during unboxing! The watch just slides out of the packaging - but end of the day its best to recycle all the packaging anyway

Just ordered the 42mm. Go for it. Much more lighter and doesn’t stick out. One thing i noticed is it displays the same amount of info apart some texts.
@@AayushTheOGif you adjust your text size smaller, you can see more. Otherwise you’ll just have to scroll to read fully. Either way works.
Workout, and Enlarge your wrist.
46 looks way too big this yr , 42 looks better on ur wrist and mine too. I normally go for the bigger one but not anymore
42 for me ! Thanks again 🎉
I have a 7.25 inch wrist and the 46mm fits perfect
I have the 7 inch wrist but I want the bigger Watch 😮
S4 44mm was the perfect size. I’ll have to try the 46 to see if it’s too big otherwise I’ll have to go with the much smaller option 42. But 44mm wrist straps will work on the 46 model.
I wanted the Ultra 2 in black but I’m apart of the “dainty wrist crew” so 42 will have to do.
I have issues with my watch causing my wrist/arm to hurt even though it’s not tight and where it’s supposed to go, but I want to pick up the 42mm because it’s lighter, hoping if I do it’ll help this issue.
Did you get the 42mm watch? Did it help? I’m having the same issue with the 46mm watch.
@ I didn’t, I figured I would just hold out for now. Sorry. 😞
Hi, I go with the 42 but I do like both of my opinion, but I like the 42 mini major
I went from my rose gold series 5 to the aluminum silver 10, and what a great watch. I got the 42 and I sure hope it doesn’t go any bigger in the future!
I’m 6.5 inch wrist . 42mm?
Yes
You said the band is Midnight. Are you sure about that? Think the Midnight is an older colorway and the new one coming with the Series 10 is Ink, right? Also, would Sport Loop be good for gym and physical activities, or would the sweat absorb making it hard to clean? Does cleaning involve just sticking them in the washer?
I did say the wrong color: it's the INK color
Thought I was just an average sized guy but my wrists seem to be significantly larger than other people's on here at 8 1/8". Was thinking about going with the more compact 42mm size but my wrist size is over the 200mm max (42mm Fits 130‑200mm wrists) so I think I would have no choice here but to go with the larger 46mm size.
46 is my favorite!
46mm in the satin Black is my way to go...I have a small wrist but I love big watch faces it looks so good! But I agree CJ, take it easy on the bank!
Hello , which is the best in battery 42 or 46
Battery life is similar to the same between the two
46mm all the way! Great videos.
Since the s10 model have a larger screen than bezel its almost like using a 44 on SE model.
@ Yes, I guess so. And with a screen equivalent or bigger than the big model in early series!
46mm natural titanium for me! I love it!
Nice
My wrist size 8inch, means 203mm, means 46mm the best on hands
guys help me out, what colour should i choose? i like the black one a lot but i would get the silver one if the black one gets scratches way easier because of the glossy finish. help me out
If 46 fits your wrist, go for it. If not then the 42. Whichever, the charging is crazy fast .. crazy fast …
Excellent video! Exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ll be going with the 42mm Series 10. Same size screen as my 44mm Series 6 but with a lighter and smaller body!
42 on a 10 is the same as 44 on the earlier size?
@@crazyassesatthe2155 The 42mm 10th Series is the same screen size in a smaller casing compared to my 44mm 6th Series.
I just picked up the 42 but you should go with the 46.
It's only a few dollars difference from both..I just ordered the 46 coming from the large galaxy 6 classic
Do they work when left-handed? (so wearing it on the right hand)? They way you wear it not on the right hand the buttons are on the wrong side :-s
Yes. You can set up the orientation. The guy reviewing is right hand dominant so he didn’t change the orientation. Wouldn’t make sense. He’s just comparing the 2 sizes and colors.
6,7 inch Here. Should i Go With 42 or 46?
42
@@himeh02 Thank you!
i think 46 will be fine too
@@zeilinger2560 thx
I honestly think 46mm looks appropriate for wrists 7.4 inches and above, 7inch and below 42 will always look much better unless you have issues with your eyes and need the bigger screen to read the text then go with 46.
Is there much difference between sleeping with the ultra or series 10, 9 …?
I have both watches , I,m used sleeping with the ultra. But for sleeping the series 10 is definitely less noticeable. I use the ultra often in the day but in the evening and sleeping the small series 10 is really nice
What’s good CJ waiting on the 16 pro & pro max review
I got you
A little odd, but I used to be an Android user but switched to iPhone last year and have been using my old Samsung Watch 3 but have been thinking about getting the new series 10.
Wrist size?
what size Milanese band should i get
130-180mm or 150-200 mm??
my wrist is around 180mm or 175mm
For 46mm titanium
150-200
@@Alex-pm1mp ThankYou
I just recently purchased my first apple watch i ordered the series 10 42mm jet black because i love the color black period
I got the 46mm… and it’s awesome.
CJ, do you still have your Golf R? If so, any issues?
Still got it. Still running strong
@@CJKnowsTECH 6,6 inch - 46 or 42mm?
😂😂😂 The paper around the watch is annoying. I tore mine off as well. I got the 46mm gold titanium. It’s beautiful
Right 😂 nice choice
I have the 46mm and love it !!
I say 46 mm but it’s all by personal preference
Coming from an Ultra, 42mm for me. 16cm wrists here.
I like your lamp what kind it is?
First I watched your reviewed and it helped me decide to upgrade from the series 7 to the series 10 46 jet black and loving it. Question I have do you have a cover for the watch and if so which one would you recommend or not? Thank you I also subscribed.
My wrist is 6.9 inches. I'm really not sure which one is right for me.
42
Can series 10 42mm use Sport Band older version? 41mm or 45mm?
please help
42mm for me.
Thank you, you're explaining very clearly,
Great video. I have the Ultra1 and told myself to wait til Ultra3. I’m sticking to it 😅
Thank you for the video - I have 6,2 inch wrist (tried to convert it from cm) and still cannot decide it, my current watch is 41 mm and sometimes I think a bigger screen would be better. I think I will try it on my wrist in an apple store but based on your video I started to like the 46 mm watch better :D
You will be sorry 😅
Well, not only are you gorgeous but you have great taste 😉
Which one did you buy??
@@jasmeetkaur1765 46 mm and I love it so much
42 mm for us bro,,,😀
interested in buying my first Apple Watch ever question is do i get the series 9 the 45 mm or 10 the 46 mm or the new Ultra not very techy at age 59 i like all the health features and being able to use it as a golf watch great review by the way ordering the 16 Pro Max iphone in black with 512gb pretty excited about both cheers from Vulcan Canada
Just get the series 10. It will be more future proof and the benefits are nice over the series 9. Money comes and goes.
Just get the newest model.
Yo no need to tear off that wrap around the watch during unboxing! The watch just slides out of the packaging - but end of the day its best to recycle all the packaging anyway
I tried to slide them out mines were stuck😂
I got the 46. Love it. It may not be right, but it’s oh so goood.
😂 understood. Enjoy
I have a 7" wrist and got the Apple 10 in a 46mm. I love it. Easy to read!
