Just as an aside Marty, when USCCA was king of the hill, ALL the popular Guntubers were shilling for them, NOW those SAME guntubers are all shilling for AOR, which we all know they don't do for free, I just found the shifting trend interesting and I have noticed and am glad ACLDN doesn't partake in all the hype, especially when you don't need to, THAT'S when you know you got a good thing!
@@timbo749 Yep... Interestingly, one of those UA-cam influencers who now shills for another company wrote me and asked to be a paid influencer, and when I turned him down, he got pretty rude. All I can say is "God bless him."

I think the main thing he missed is ACLDN provided all those videos for learning, recommended books to read all in preparation if we ever did have to use our weapon we will more likely than not use it in a situation where it's a true self defense situation and not pulling our weapon when we shouldn't in the first place.
Would we have expected anything less? ACLDN has the only program that offers the protection we need, a board of the best experts in the business, and a track record of meeting the urgent needs of the members. I've been a member for over 10 years and am thankful for ACLDN every time I leave my home armed. When you have the best program with the best protection run by the best people, everyone else is going to target you. Thank you for all you do for us.
GREAT job, Marty and Gila! I’ve been a proud member of ACLDN for 11 years, and I just recently re-upped for 3 more years. I will be a member for the rest of my life. I can NOT adequately state how much I appreciate the ACLDN program, its leadership, its educational offerings, its total and clear disclosure of what ACLDN is about and precisely what assistance it accords its members, its straightforward no-nonsense/no-fluff approach, and its exceptionally reasonable cost. Thank you, Marty & Gila and ACLDN crew, for standing tall and taking the high road on this matter. Godspeed!
I've been a member of ACLDN since it's formation. It is an excellent organization with a high level of integrity. Over the years I've found the educational benefits alone to be worth the price of membership.
So I watched both videos, the issue is best I can tell ACLDN is very light on details of what it considers legal self defense. However I agree that it seems AOR also is aggressively pushing their program and seems have not shared the full picture. atm it’s all hearsay as no receipts were provided by this video showing the member complaint about AoR or the email correspondence. What if you had to use an illegal firearm for self defense? How about during the initial phase of the rittenhouse trial when the evidence seemed really sketch. AOR claims that as long as you are allowed the make a claim of self defense in court that they will represent you. Can ACLDN make a similar statement? The website seems intentionally vague and relies on names that are recognizable vs providing clarity to a prospective customer. Rittenhouse was considered a bad shoot by many until the witness testimony and drone footage clearly exonerated him. The situation given where a person goes back into the house may have had a justifiable fear for his life and thus shot at the dog. By what standard is someone considered a criminal and if convicted by a trial court (thus legally becoming one) does this mean there is no appeal support by ACLDN? Also it seems prior to getting any coverage, this video specifically asks you to divulge details to the police. What if there is a big grey area? There maybe a variety of justifiable reasons mixed in a minefield in regards to why shot(s) were fired. Why would anyone try to explain what happened in something this serious without a lawyer present? Anything you say can be used against you.
I remember Tim at USCCA said the same thing "Lies and half-truths" When all Marc did was read the contract. Now you are saying the same thing when all he did was read (since you have no contract) what was on your website. I guess if it's lies and half-truths, it's lies and half-truths on your website. I saw both videos, I don't see any lies or half-truths.
When Marc reviewed USCCA, CCW safe, and the other competitors. Its was I'm glad your exposing those insurance companies. When he reviews ACLDN with the same way and energy he did with all the other companies, its now an issue and tearing someone down? He puts it out on all his videos that he has a bias and promotes his own program in all his review videos. There will be people who will have an issue with that but he's upfront about it. The company that took the biggest hit from Marc review and another self defense attorney criticisms, is USCCA.
While I can certainly appreciate a critique & questioning of a product or service, etc., one also has to be aware of who is doing the critique. In this case, a competitor, relatively new on the national scene. But if people take the time to listen to Attorney Marc V. & what he is actually saying, he is more about raising questions about something that might not be entirely clear, which may be good. But then he jumps of, on a really BIG leap to that means it is the worst thing ever, pointing to something ridiculous & highly exaggerated. To be honest, I had some of the same concerns. But further research & asking ACLDN questions directly, eased those concerns. So I quickly signed up & have been spreading the word. Then afterwards, since I am able to, I sought additional coverage for some overlap & to supplement my protection. These series of videos have only helped me realize that I did the right thing!
Having been introduced to Marty and ACLDN from the show "self defense" many years ago I reviewed the membership offered by ACLDN and compared to others which are insurance. What I like is ACLDN offers assistance in leu of a "legal" self-defense shooting for us law abiding citizens and not insurance who represent illegal situations. I also found the legal shooting experts on the board of ACLDN which is very impressive and another reason I chose ACLDN for my wife and I. Mr. Victor is playing old questionable marketing blame game with scare tactics to grow his own plan which, by the way is not insurance as cited on his website. Who would want to be represented by a marketer like that. We're ACLDN members and proud to be.
Are your legal benefits insurance based or not????? I left uscca because their legal benefits are insurance based, and not good. Having an actual attorney available for my defense is the only way to go. Can you say this is what your organization does 100 percent.
We are NOT insurance based, our 4 Million+ legal defense fund is entirely under our control. YOU choose your attorney. More information here: armedcitizensnetwork.org/learn
@@armedcitizenslegaldefensen4041 Thank you for your response and information. I look forward reviewing it further. What I have read so far does concern me. It is mentioned a couple of times and ways about the incident being lawful. What strikes me is the jurisdiction which hypothetically would be prosecuting the charges have already determined the situation to be unlawful. I would feel much more comfortable with a firearms defense organization which included attorneys in staff who will determine that their client acted in good faith in a self defense shooting and not look to drop him as soon as possible. Again, thank you for your response and I will get back to you once I have completed my consideration.
It sounds like you dropped Attorneys for Freedom from your list over a misunderstanding. Your member called them as they tried to sell your member their program. They do defend non members at their full hourly rate. As a member of both ACLDN and AOR it's sad to see this but My wife and I will continue to remain a member of both programs.
@AkiraFollower Well it made more sense at the time, AOR has expanded it's program to cover a lot of gaps I had ACLDN for. But ACLDN is just so affordable I'll keep it
There is no way to get around that there is a third party entity that will make the call on whether THEY think your incident was "justifiable self-defense". AOR's contract says YOU (the client) has to say that it was self-defense. Plus, you advise to talk to the police to tell them why you feared for your life, no legitimate criminal defense attorney would say that is good advice. Guys, I am sure that everyone there is good folks but it just seems dated.
There is ample support from various experts, having different perspectives on telling the police, via 911 that there was a shooting & you were the victim reporting it. Then when the initial responding police officers arrive, making mention that you are the victim, pointing out evidence, then seeking medical help yourself, while both cooperating later & even signing a formal complaint against the bad guy(s). No one should give any other details or make additional statements until one speaks with an attorney.
I have not seen Marc's video and I'm not intending to respond in that regard per se, but this did make me realize that an important distinction between a prepaid legal service and the ACLDN is that an attorney serving a client is OBLIGATED to represent that client whether they committed a crime or not, and that is not what the ACLDN is for. One might say it's not unlike having a vehicle service done every 5,000 miles compared to putting gas in the car; they're related but not at all the same things.
AOR isn't the same as prepaid legal. Prepaid legal involves a middle man whereas with AOR you are dealing directly with the law firm themselves. The AOR program also won't cover you for committing a crime under their program, however they will still defend you for a 35% discount if you are a member.

Don't allow this guy to slander a fine organization with half-truths or inuendo.
I’m concerned about your position on a “bad shoot.” Suppose a member is involved in what he believes is an honest-to-goodness righteous self defense incident, but it’s determined he was wrong, that he made a mistake, an unintentional mistake, and it does turn out to be a “bad shoot.” Do you just leave him hanging? Does he get any benefit of the doubt?
This is my exact concern. The video goes on and on about how they won’t defend “criminals” and support honest law biding citizens… well if you are charged with a crime, by definition your “law binding” status is in question…
