you're a very good teacher. It must have taken many years of thought and reverse engineering and then careful and precise use of language to be able to clearly articulate what would be seemingly complex ideas to the average lay person. well done & much appreciated. I think you are one of the best presenters I've seen.

A "reference point" is the perfect way to describe the reasoning behind shadow boxing. If you haven't spared before, you really don't know WHY you would do it. It's not all about the punches, it's the movement, the balance and putting yourself back in that sparring mind set. Great explanation!

Nice video. I watch your stuff often. I'm a year into Muay Thai and Boxing. What made a huge difference for me in regard to shadow boxing was using a mirror. A pro MT fighter explained to me how you essentially strike at your nose in the mirror when shadow boxing. This really helped me focus on a target and program in some memory to my muscles. I really got to see the flaws in my jabs, cross, hooks, etc.

This was exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Lot of videos will tell you 'do five rounds of this', but I want to know the mindset.

I'm 51 and just starting to box. mainly to get myself in shape and because I have always loved watching boxing. Your videos are great for beginners and I really like the way you take your time to demonstrate and explain. I am looking forward to learning and since there are no boxing gyms near me, its going to be a home thing but that is ok. I am a little old to be boxing someone else. Again, thank your brother.

i would love for you to show everyone in my town what boxing is all about, because when i say i used to box people just think im a violent hooligan, and boxing is way more than that. stay safe.

Man am I glad I can across your channel. I like to fight but I've always been a grappler, wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu, but I love the beauty of boxing but can't box to save my life. I can throw a nice right but I have no idea what I'm doing with my feet or combos and I love you explanations and the way you break it down. I'd love to see you explain Vasyl Lomoachenco's movements with the left and right pivot or slide that he does. I'm going to be watching your channel a lot. Thanks.

Important to address the point of ´´not feeling stupid.´´ Thank you for mentioning it. Your channel is awesome, and I am grateful for the free content and your email lists.
A good way to get over feeling stupid practicing anything is to learn how to sing. Especially in the beginning, you will feel like a total tool doing scales. I still feel kindy dorky doing it, but you gotta do it. We train boxing in a park in downtown Sacramento - lotsa onlookers. You might draw some snickers if you are practicing singing in the park, maybe even some police attention, but I haven´t seen any gawkers watching our training. They may think it unwise to giggle at a group of people who might kick their asses!
    Shadow box on!

    • @PrecisionBoxing

practicing with gloves is has more of a carry over effect, but the gloves get sloppy on the hands when practicing, try to use 0.5 to 1lb hand weights instead.
