  • This 1986 Porsche 930 Turbo looked good at first glance! But there was a lot of rust and rot hiding in the usual places. The restoration made sure this great example is gonna last a lifetime! What do you think about this restoration?

How much you think this job would cost these day? Not that matters. Just curious.

I'm so glad it got restored. It looks so beautiful now. The 80's 911's are appreciating now. Thanks.

Holy crap, the car looked like it spent 30 years at the bottom of a lake! Great job though, looks fantastic.

AAAAAAAAARGH - that music - HA - I'd prefer the noise of a 930. Shame to see a 930 rotted like that, thankfully we do not see salt on our roads (salt is what I assume caused all this damage). GREAT to see you bring it back to useable condition. I have restored many 911/930 over the years - and to me - they are a simple car to work on and great build/design. Thanks. Have a nice day all. Great job you've done with this, not for the faint hearted but the market value of the 930 clearly makes it worthwhile if the maths work. Another one saved from the tin worm.

I've watched a few videos of these types of restorations, and I'm curious what the rough price tag is on work like this. It's obviously all manual, skilled labor. Is an owner looking at 10k Euros? 20k? More? Depending on how high that number goes, at some point, the value of the car isn't worth it any more, but the air-cooled 911s seem to continue to appreciate in value, so I'm sure for this car it's worth it. I was fortunate to be able to own one of these (a 1980 model) for about 5 years, but sadly that's been out of my life for 30 years or so. They are phenomenal cars. I miss it just about every day.

At the end of every video you should add the cost so we can see how much a restoration goes for. It would help a lot in trying to determine costs of restoring...

I had an 1986 911 Targa with zero rust. Where was this car that it was so rusted? Unusual for a Porsche
to be rusted to that extent.

How do these cars get so rusty? I thought in 1985 or 1987 galvanized metal was used??? This car must be older???

I love then930,beautiful restoration but a red interior is a tad too much. I’d have gone with black with red piping on the seats, but I’m sure the owner is elated with his car. Good for another 100000 miles!

Classic example of an uneconomical repair. The car is too far gone. Yes by cutting and welding you got it back together but the original integrity of the body has been lost and now it's somewhat of a Frankenstein creation. A true survivor 930 (no rust, minimal accident history), would be worth much more than this thing. Don't get me wrong, it's still good to see it rolling on the street.
