    I recently restored my Aurora 1/16 Vega funny car that I originally built when the model was new in the '70's. I was fortunate enough to locate a mint unused original decal sheet and went to work!

    Wow what a great video, only complaint is that it wasn't long enough, lol. I been building funnys since a kid and always tried to get them to sit low like a real funny,he nailed the stance and the deep tucked rear slicks!

    This brings me back to the seventies when I was building models.
    I had a bunch of them. The Hawaiian, Chitown Hustler, Jungle Jim, Revolution and a couple more I don't remember.
    Might of had a couple of top fuel dragster too.
    Also spent a lot of time at Raceway Park in Englishtown during the mid to late seventies and watched the real ones run.

    Absolutely awesome. You can do so much greater detail work with 1/16 scale than you can do with 1/24 or 1/25 scale. It is great that 1/16 scale modelers have new pallets to work with. Thanks for sharing.

    That was a good video! I’m currently in the middle of building a 1/16 scale Grand Am funny car, that I purchased from EBay. I’ve got 5 more, 3 stock cars, and 3 Dukes of Hazzard cars, all in 1/16 scale. It’s hard trying to find detailed parts for them, so I’m glad to hear that they’re starting to make more!

    Absolutely stunning, the level of detail and added detail is truly awesome, now with the availability of 3D printed parts has just kicked things up a whole lot of notches! I remember seeing the 1:16 Scale Vega Funny Car and the Dragsters in print, but don't recall seeing any of them on the shelves of the local hobby shops. Once again, the 1/25 Scale model competes and wins the valuable shelf-space in the hobby shops.

    I want to thank Doug and his crew for putting together "Whats so funny about 1:16 Scale ?" as well as introducing me to his channel. The video is a flawless job and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed meeting you and the crew. I have to apologize as I have only been building since 2007 and have only completed a handful of models or so. I have only been showing models since 2016 and am not the most experienced at it but am learning more and more, as well as meeting many people and modelers. It was a pleasure working and explaining to you and the crew about my funny car models, and then to see them come to life here in the video you put together was just floor boarding. I can't say enough and am lost for words. Thank you again. I really enjoyed seeing the Revell Revellution model kit as well as the Aurora super scale kit, and Tony Nancy kit, you incorporated into the video. Very creative job putting the video together, thanks for sharing it, Thanks Again, Bruce Morris.

    Great video! As a kid I built a few 1/16 scale model cars and still have a couple (57' Corvette, 1934 Rolls Royce cabriolet, AMT 55' Chevy convert). About 20 years ago I found several Aurora Racing Scenes unbuilt kits at a swap meet and grabbed them up. Among them was the 417 Donovan motor, drivers set, mechanics set, funny car chassis set, and the Vega body set. The detail on these was amazing- especially the hemi engine! Unfortunately they were a victim of my divorce about 12 years ago. Besides my childhood built models that I still own, I did pick up a Minicraft 1/16 scale 1931 Ford Model A kit a couple years ago that is waiting its turn. I love 1/16 scale too! Thanks again for the great video!

    I have a bunch of the Aurora kits engine kits chassis kids driver figures and complete funny cars all still wrapped in plastic also all of the 1/16 scale Revell funny cars and top fuels originals from the '70s all still in plastic I got them from my father who collected them back in the '70s he is now 82 years old and gave them to me thinking they're worth nothing

    • @brucemorris5369
      @brucemorris5369 2 роки тому +3

      May I add being the fact that your dad collected them and, and is now 82, and gave them to you is worth more than the collection or value of the models as you can not put a price on that.

      Technically no they have the re issued chassis under a couple of them from the late 80s Revell Hot Rod Series and scratch built chassis as well and resin bodies. But originally they were from the 70s.
