About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

They don't make TV like this anymore. Oh, those where the days~!
More racist bigoted family sitcoms? Is that what you want?
They sure don't
@@thetvbaby83 It's not so much a matter of PC, but that is a huge factor. Simply put, there are not writers nor actors capable of this level of brilliance in this day and age.
TV today has to be edgy with filthy.
@@lavalampluva55401i like my edge clean, for when I cut chicken and food and stuff.
This episode really shows how much Archie loved his family. An artist offers him $400 for his old chair, and he declines the offer because of the memories.
Underneath it all, Archie had a soul.
Cant be any worse than what Frasier did on his show where he put the chair on the Balcony it catches fire then falls off and is smashed to pieces Marty Crane goes U threw my Chair off the balcony whats next? are u going to light Eddie on fire and throw him too?
Archie hey Hefner your dog is killing my lawn again 😆
greatest sitcom of all time, second to none...
Mike: I BROKE HIS CHAIR! I BROKE HIS CHAIR!

Hahaha that was hilarious! I need to see the whole episode!
Probably the most iconic scene for that show
naaahhhhh...the most iconic episode was the one with Sammy Davis, Jr. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
i have to disagree.
@@wendell6468 I agree. That was the best episode of the entire series. My second favorite is the one where Maude visits.
Carroll O'Connor was great with a beat take
I LOVE THIS SHOW THIS SHOW IS SO FUNNY , AND I LOVE HOW ARCHIE MAKE FUN OF MIKE , AND CALL HIM MEAT HEAD ALL THE TIME , 🤣
Calm down, will ya?
Lmao and call his wife Edith Dingbat
I agree I love the whole topic funny how it wouldn't go over today

Is this your first time watching this show? (don't answer that!)
I was atthe Smthsotein museum in Washington DC and they had Archie's living room set on display. It was cool to see the living room set.
The chair is in the Smithsonian!
I saw it one year and even though the walk wore me near to ribbons, I had to see it and sucked up all that pain, haha.
It was definitely worth it! Because you also saw the table AND can of beer he'd always drink.
Is that why it didn’t come back in time?
As it should be. This was the best show ever made.
Someone had his jacket matches to providence authentic. A jacket worth a small fortune.
I saw it! The only thing I really remembered
Archie's gonna go crazy. I love that for all his kookiness they accept him instead of pushing the he'll have to adjust narrative
Thank God for real humor. I need it .
That chair is now in the Smithsonian
I know it's about the chair and Archie reaction but Gloria cracked me up laughing about the mustache, I loved her character as well....
I think this is among my favorite episodes! Poor Archie :Poor Mike! I love it
Archie: Hey Heffner, your dog is killing my lawn, again!! 😂😂😂😂
Archie Bunker's chair iconic legend
WHAT WAS HE USING IT FOR... A TRAMPALOON?????!!!!!!!!
Wanted to see the best part. He finally sees the chair is gone. "Why is this space empty?" Or something along those lines. He simply freaks over a chair.
.........and the flamenco dance.." why can i do this here?" Lol
I used to work for a person like Archie thank God I don't anymore it ended up being the best thing that can happen to me to be fired irrational inconsistent quick to anger no idea what the hell he was doing oh wait a minute that's most bosses isn't it
Mike looks so werid without his musthace.
This has to be the funniest episode of "All in the family" that I have ever seen in my entire life.

I remember seeing this when I was twelve, which was when this was part of Nick-at-Nite's lineup.
Rob Reiner is a real life Meathead.
That he is!
If you look really carefully, you can actually see the wire that pulls the chair leg apart from the chair when Mike sits in it.
Mike's got a point. I'm 46 and I still watch Sesame Street. Brings back memories of my childhood! There are just some things in life that you can never outgrow! As Archie and Edith would say, those were the days!
Sesame Street, was, at that time, a very creative, inventive and entertaining show for pretty much anyone. It's quite different now --- the multilayered humor and the eclectic, hodgepodge format that allowed for so much varied, oddball content are pretty much gone, which is too bad, but it's just the inevitable result of changing educational research over time. But there are a ton of '70s, '80s and '90s episodes on UA-cam, which is nice.
Unfortunately Sesame Street was after my time. So was Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. I was a Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo kid. Now Howdee Doodee was before my time.
@@Marbles471 the muppets were for adults , my parents seen them on Sullivan , live
Now there's something to talk about !!
Meathead is my brother-in-law in real life for 31 years.
Is he like his character in all in the family?
@@boxerfan2 sadly, yes, but to be fair, my sister doesn't live under a bridge. He looks after her, he's just a meathead.
@@peppertrout haha. lol
wait, are you saying your brother in law is Rob Reiner himself?? Or your BIL is pretty similar to Mik-I mean, Meathead?
@@rayvega3163 He’s pretty much like Reiner except he has hair and stylish clothes.
Meathead as of this year is still watching Sesame Street and is still Meathead.
Loved her as Nana Silverberg on Murphy Brown. She was Miles Silverbergs nana and Pam's nana-in-law.
That statement about the subway is still true today as it was for me as a little boy in NYC during the Mad Men era especially in rush hours.
how could they cut the clip off at that point. Geez!
Man, that's a big living room!
Hey Hefner, your dog is killing my lawn again. 💩 😂😂😂
Best Show Ever!!!!
the 70s called, they want your chair back
That chair was made in the 1940s with the rest of their furniture
@@LlyleHunter Sorry but I couldn't resist that "Regular Show" joke
This is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
At 3:55, the black panther on the TV that Archie is walking towards. I have that same one right here in my house with me. My grandmother left me when she passed away in 1996. She has had it since she was young.
I thought it was a bull or ox
Very sorry to hear of your loss. I’ve lost both of my parents. You certainly have my sympathy.
Brilliant!!!!
Broken chair. Crazy glue 1001 uses, Mike was hoping for 1002 or he would have to come up with some 'F/X' effect to make Archie not notice the chair.
Funny Episode!😂
😂when he walks to the tv n starts thinking 🤔
No coffee was spilled. The mug was empty
Yeah, well, they didn't want to have to mop that up.
Meathead almost lost his toupee
@Bourg Productions ohh jeez, look at that. Hey Edith get me a beer huh, the Meathead is molting.
@@wurly164 Lol
should have just shaved what was left. it was not worth salvaging by that point. a lot of older men have been doing that as a new trend.
You would have thought he would noticed when he walked over to the TV to get his cigar. He walked right across where his chair was
Well, him noticing it wasn’t in the script.
Archie's chair can be seen in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History as an American Icon
I miss shows like this but I don’t miss the days of dads bursting aneurisms over any little thing.
Snowflake - be real man and apologize to your father for being a weak disappointing son.
Rob Reiner has been whiney and annoying for 50 years
Greatest damn television show ever made. 2nd would be the Honeymooners
Your opinion is shit
No coffee on the floor.
Mike's in Big Trouble with Arch
Mike thought how can you put a chair in the shower. Just like that the broken chair leg would have the water fix it back on instantly. 😂😅
Could you imagine if Archie broke his own chair?
Archie: I knew I was out of shape, but I didn't think I could cause a minor earthquake with my own weight!
Edith: Oh come on Archie, that chair wasn't in great shape.
Archie: Neither am I, but you don't see me falling apart! Oh Edith, 28 years with this chair and I broke it.
Edith: I'm sure there's a thrift store can sell sturdy chairs.
Archie: Edith, this chair has center-mental value. I can't just replace this. I'm going to take this to the repair shop, then I'm going to Kelsey's. Don't wait up for me.
Edith: Be careful Archie.
Archie: Oh you bet.
Yes ,those were the days!
Dang, Archie's gonna be pissed!
I haven't notice before but Edith sounds like one of chipmunks talking in that voice.🙄

A great big bowl of chocolate pudding !!!!!!
Of all the regular characters in AITF the one who's appearance changed the most (from the earliest shows to the later shows) is Mike. Archie looked basically the same from the first AITF episode to the last Archie Bunker's Place episode. Edith looked basically the same throughout. Gloria did not change that much.
Gloria did so change: remember when her hair was all curly?
It's cause Mike had a larger hairpiece every season and they kept changing the length of it. Plus he shaved the mustache of course.
I BROKE HIS CHAIR 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The simple solution is since Archie took a strong liking to Mike's chair, they could have just moved that chair into the Bunker house for Archie until his chair gets repaired...
0:21,🤣😂
Why not full episodes here?
Didn't spill any coffee.
The part after this is pretty funny.....
hahahahaha 😂
Classic Archie
I have noticed that men create their own niche just to get through. If it is disturbed, a reaction should not surprise you
Was there a main reason Micheal felt so much pressure just asking
Cuz Archie didn't like anyone else sitting in his chair, Mike kept sitting in it despite knowing that he hated it.
Now he did it again and broke it.
It was Archie's chair, how would you feel?
Spoiler alert, the chair gets sent to repair at a furniture store, they fix it, but they misplace it into a pile of junk where its bought up by an artist who turns it into an art exhibit in a museum.
A rather wonderful irony that both Archie and Edith's chairs would end up in the Smithsonian Museum as icons of American history.
Classic
He was on the episode of That Girl and I saw that he had no mustache.
Would've loved for "A Bunker" and "M Crane" to commiserate over this moment. "Hey, Friend, I've been there! MY Egghead son set my chair on fire and threw it off a Seattle balcony!"😉😝😡🗽🚖🛣👮♂️☕📻B.W.
You know, that set does look spooky without the chair. It’s all wrong.
What happened to Mike's mustache?!
I remember that at the beginning of season 7 it looked like Rob Reiner was wearing a fake mustache. Then he stopped wearing it and then by midseason he grew back a real one.
@@jaredjlinden Wonder why he didn't have one? Was he filming a movie that hiatus?
He was filming the movie Fire Sale in which his character didn't have a mustache.
You know if you have a table with one leg too short and it wobbles, so you cut the leg, only to find out that now the other 3 legs are too long, so you keep cutting the legs until you have no table left?
Meathead looks way better without the moustache.
That chair was ruined when Archie bought it
Was there a main reason Archie always thought 🤔 Micheal was a real meathead just asking
Because he was.
Archie thought Mike was a meathead because of his extreme liberal views. Those views, Archie found unintelligent. I think Mike was a meathead because he always argued with the man (Archie) who gave him free room and board while he pursued his college degree and allow him and Gloria to buy their first house. I'd gladly live with a bigot for that arrangement.
As Archie said in one of the shows, it was because Mike was "dead from the neck up"
@@buicklincoln Archie was no bigot. He was spot on. Mike was a meathead on the show and in real life he is the same.
at first glance it looks like crime scene graffiti on the floor until you see that there is indeed a carpet with designs. maybe it's the way the camera is angled.
Mike is another Glidilocks or Urkel! 😅
Meathead is annoying in real life too.
Very much
And neurotic!
When in HS this came on Sun night around 9:30...then Sanford and Son on another networkl
Actually this episode was a premise for in real life Archie & Edith's chairs being placed in the Smithsonian Institute. It's funny when the chair broke when Mike sat in it since Arch was heavier than Mike was.
Although the script was funny it they left this completely unexplainable. All he did was just sit in it and it broke all by itself. He should have tripped maybe and fell on it would have made more sense.
Can someone please tell me the outcome. Did they get the repaired chair back in time
Well, to save you time, no. By mistake it was given to a junk dealer who gave it to this artist and put it in an exhibit. But Archie did take it back.
How come i can do this here ??
I BROKE ARCHIE'S CHAIR!!!!!!
That's nothing. Don Rickles broke Johnny Carson's Antique Cigarette Case on live tv. Carson took it to Burbank, California from New York City, NY. 🤣😂🤣😂
I wonder what happened to his coat the show never talk about his coat it have made a good show
I finally realized that I was so annoyed by Gloria. She was so dramatic and at times downright ignorant!!! That's what makes a great show though.
Mike does look cute without the mustache
Every female I've ever known named Kristina was 🔥
@@lockandloadlikehell really?
Oh no!!!!! U broke King Archie's chair aka his "throne". U sat on the legendary "throne" of Archie Bunker, now he is about to be pissed. A man's chair is his throne. And don't forget the other throne. The Porcelain throne the toilet seat aka the throne of Caroline Daniels. Lol.
Can't stand Rob Reiner
He’s a fantastic filmmaker, a good actor, and a terrible political commentator. Will always be a meathead.
