Today we are going back to basics! Whether you have just bought your first Apple Watch or are upgrading from an older generation, this is the video for you! I will cover everything you need to know from the the Apple Watch’s top essential features to showing you how to optimise your watch in terms of settings, battery life and performance. I will be demonstrating this on my Apple Watch SE, however this video also applies to the Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 3 - all currently supported Apple Watch models! This video will make your experience better and help you get the most out of your Apple Watch and WatchOS. First things first, the apple watch will come separate from the band. Sport band comes in 2 parts. Slide either end into the watch and click into place. Super easy to use mechanism that apple has kept the same over the years - many first and third party bands to choose. To remove the band, press in on either of these buttons and slide to remove. Now that the watch is assembled let’s set it up! First thing is press and hold the side button to power up and bring Apple Watch close to iPhone. On my iPhone 13 I get an on screen prompt. Tap setup for myself. Using the camera, align the watch to pair. It is now paired! Swipe from left to right to switch between watch faces. Press and hold on watch face and swipe to right to add a new watch face. Range of watch faces, some with many complications to show lots of data, others are more clear and look more like a traditional timepiece. Pro tip, use less complications to save battery. Swipe down for notifications. Swipe to left to clear. Swip up for control centre. Quick access to many features and see battery percentage. Can turn on power reserve, ping your iPhone, turn on fash light and more. Click into the digital crown to enter the home screen. Press again to return to watch face. Install apps right from the built-in apple watch app store. Press side button to access multi tasking. Quickly switch between two most recent open apps by double clicking the digital crown. Double press the side button to bring up Apple Pay. Press and hold side button to turn off, show medical ID or start and emergency call. Add new watch face. Notification (only allow important notification on wrist). General. Turn on auto updates. Background app refresh. Turn on bedside mode. Enable screenshot. Keep brightness in middle. Shorten wake duration. Turn off Hey Siri - save battery, instead use digital crown. Turn on emergency sos features - hope to never need but reassuring to have. I like heart features on but can turn off to save battery. Play song on iPhone now playing on AW. Workout app - scroll through tap to start. Weather app - syncs data from iPhone. Calculator - neat tip feature. Heart app. Voice memos. Create and send new message. Use Siri to create a new route. Phone dial pad - uses iPhone to make call, GPS+ cellar model can make calls independently. All of this should give you a good idea on how to setup, optimise and use you new Apple Watch! For me the Apple Watch has become an accessory that I can’t imagine my day without. It is the finer things like, Apple Pay, Maps, receiving Notifications and Siri that make the Apple Watch an essential product I use every day with joy!

Even more:) One or two days of scripting including research (plus in some case certain tests during a longer period), filming A-roll (1/2 - 1 day), filming B-roll (1/2 day) plus editing. Fortunately I studied video production at the University of Greenwich. That helps :)

I just got an Apple Watch SE 44mm in grey! I love it so much! I upgraded from the s3. It’s a much better Apple Watch than the s3. The battery is amazing, the performance is great. It opens apps a lot faster than my old s3. I love the bigger display. I also love the curved aesthetic of the display rather than the box style on the s3. I recommend this one to most people. Whatever Apple Watch you get pls don’t get the series 3 it’s old , dated and you will simply regret your decision after 2 months of use.

I actually miss my series 3. I upgraded to the SE a week ago. Unlike you. I miss the small, square face. I would Aleta wonder why some ppls watch looked so big- it’s because it’s a newer series. SE is 30% larger. I still think series 3 works fine only upgraded cuz my screen cracked after I dropped it after wearing it for 3 years everyday🥲
@@DionMedia I love my new SE 40 mm but I charge it daily. It may go, tops, a day and a half. Is that normal? Coming from a Fitbit which went 4 days. I realize this does far more but carrying another charger is a bit annoying.

I just came across this video in my UA-cam suggestions because I was looking for Apple Watch videos. I just got the Apple Watch SE. I liked some of the features that you talked about I didn’t know any of them. I was wondering why I can’t listen to music on the Apple Watch without Bluetooth or being connected to my phone?
HI, thanks for your comment. It is possible to store music on your Apple Watch SE, but in order to play the music you need to connect to headphones. The watch has a built in speaker, but this is not suited for playing music.

I just gotten an Apple Watch SE. I do have Apple Watch 1 and 2. They still work but, it won’t update to the latest iOS. It was easy to paired. It didn’t take me that long.

Hi, yes, it is likely that an updated version will come out of the SE, as this is long overdue. So if you can wait, I would wait, if not, the present version is very good and can be your watch for years to come. I will cover all new Apple Watches on this channel this year, so stay tuned :)

Does it matter if your up to date on your iPhone software? For instance every time I try to connect it says a software is available for this watch and will automatically unpair the watch. Should I update my phone first before I pair it?
I am not 100% sure, but I would suggest you to do it.

There is not much to say about the Apple Watch SE other than just amazing on every level. From responding to you holding it to your face and even automatically answering a call to automatically recording your jogging at the park then congratulating your first walk is just astounding, but we live in such a diverse world of technology we have come such a long way since the familiar and once-unique design of digital pet (which were quite cutting-edge for the time, and Yak Back that could record 6 second audio memo). The cloth band is a bit uncomfortable so I like the silicon band better, just wish they had them a little longer but depends what the Apple Store had available for that model. Can see why Apple Watch is so popular, makes the Fit Bit a thing of the past.
I love my Fitbit though. Trying to decide if I really need the Apple Watch.

It was the least I could say-whilst the 40mm fitted me ok, I couldn't get my wrist through the Milanese bracelet that went with it. A warning for any potential buyers with large hands and slim wrists.

Thanks, Dion, but if I answer it on the watch and then go to the phone so the conversation won’t bother others, I don’t see how to transfer it. If I don’t answer on the watch but go directly to the phone, no problem. My friend said there is a small dot to transfer it to the watch but I don’t see it. I think my watch is an SE but on your excellent video it didn’t always match what you were showing.

I'm left handed and I wear the watch on my left. My only problem is apple watch doesnt have a feature, I wear it upside down on my wrist so the wrist wake mechanism isnt as smooth and putting the watch on top is just uncomfortable for me

I like to keep the step counter and heart rate alive throughout the day. How do i do the setting?
Hi Buan, my advice would be to add the activity rings as a complication or to add the activity rings watch face from the list of watch faces. This will show you the progress throughout the day
That damn fall detection always asked me if I was alright when mountain biking every time I would go over bumps. Super annoying, because you actually have to answer it! So I turned it off. Never turned it back on again because it was too much of a hassle turning it on and off. LOL!
