babygirl Holley Make sure you invite a wise one, cause not all elders are respectable, some people are just growing more stubborn and hatred as time being, they could do harm more than good to you. Your own thoughts are more matter to be honest.

Such an awesome advice to give to the younger generations. If we succeed in follow his advice even partially, the world will for sure be a little bit better place
Kotifilosofi We need to follow his advice !! x
+:STAG: Well, if you want to read it like that :) But the context was, the elder man giving an advice to a young BOY. So it's natural to him to talk about "girls and boys" rather than "men and women" when talking about his situation.
(Omg I had no idea I got any thumbs up D: )
Love IS love... Love is blind... we cannot see love, love is not an action, it is a feeling. The law has never prevented anyone from loving, it has only persecuted those (men) (because they have penises) who choose to use the back door. Perhaps the law served as a health initiative, given the sensitive nature of the orifice. Any doctor would tell you not to stick anything up there, people don't listen, and that's why you're a Google search away from seeing tonnes of x-ray cells showing the plethora of preferred items; anything from a Barbie doll to a ladle they've tried em all
Kotifilosofi I'm the same age as thr boy and also queer so I think this is really important for our generation to hear, even if we're privileged
+Random READS Yea :) I think that even if there was no stigma of any kind towards LGBT-minorities, it would be important to let these kids know about these issues. Because of when you're a little bit different than most people (for any reason), you're going to need support to cope with normative world :)

Wow this boy is incredible. I was so dumb when I was 13.
Good for you. Sadly it took me quite a bit longer. I figured out I wasn't straight probably around the age of 19 or at least that's when I started admitting it to myself. Having grown up in a small German town, I never came in contact with anyone who was openly gay.
Don't worry. I was 15 when i had my first boyfriend. But at that time we both didn't really know what we're doing. Or what it actually means to be gay. We also both lived in german villages in the middle of nowhere.
Jeyss88 :But you had each other for Company , & that is Cool :)

Amir Asghary WHATTT !!!
Amir Asghary very true! I have a couple of friends who live in countries where it is illegal to be attracted to the same gender. Being Muslim they live in fear of what would happen to them if any family members found out about their sexuality. On top of that fear they would be stoned, killed or put in prison.
I speak to a lot of people from the LGBT community around the world and it's always those that live in these countries that get to me the most. I can listen but I don't have a solution..... very sad! X
Amir Asghary Muslim here, from Pakistan. I agree dude.. :/
Amir Asghary
Saudi Arabia, Iran, Maratuania (butchered spelling sorry), Sudan and Yemen all allow capital punishment for being gay (lesbian in all except iran where lesbians get 50 lashings 3 times then killed)

When you're from the southern US and being gay might as well still be illegal.
Danny Smith honestly
Danny Smith. Yeah, I know from experience
Danny Smith Yep
do not paint the entire of the southern USA with the same brush...like everywhere there's acceptance and rejection
wren 22 True, but let's be frank here- the south is LESS accepting than other parts of the country. Sure, there are pockets of acceptance, like NOLA (born and raised here, UNFORTUNATELY. I'm leaving this trashy state after college), and Orlando, Florida, but as a whole the southern United States is LESS accepting of LGBT+ people.

Happy to have found this site. My partner and I have been together for 47 years. He is 85 years old and I am 78. For Danny Smith, not everyone in Florida is a homophobe. We live in a suburban neighborhood in Jacksonville and have a great friendship with our neighbors who know we are gay but have accepted us without question or comment. I have been openly gay since my early 20's and never been discriminated against. Not every person's life or story is the same, but the conclusion is as other's have said, "Be yourself" and accept those who love you.
John Roddy Sounds like a lovely relationship!! Congrats :)
Thank you Louis and I predict a wonderful future for you based on your intelligence and the loving support of your parents
I live in the Jacksonville are now and it is true that everyone here is so accepting, I used to live in Southwest Florida and everyone is so much more homophobic there.
That's probably because there are more Catholics there I would think...
Catholics don't own being nice.
I wish I could come out one day :( sucks being in the UK yet my family won't accept it. Happy that these two people are able to be themselves and are comfortable

You hang in there Sweetie! Life will fall into place for you one day. Promise!
Stay strong, I bet all the puzzle pieces will come together one day as long as you will stay you!
Yusuf same here 😕
Yusuf at least it's not illegal in the UK
Such an unbelievable video. Remember that some people still don’t have this freedom or acceptance yet... To them I say, never be afraid to make your own family. Putting positivity and love into the world, you will always find people that will embrace you and accept you like family. There is nothing wrong with you nor have you done anything wrong. That is the meaning of community. Stay Strong ❤️
(I'm not being judgemental, I'm just genuinely shocked) Children as young as 13 are now 'coming out' as gay!? It really is great to see young people so confident in themselves! I'm not a homosexual myself, but I have been a supporter of equal rights for as long as I can remember, long before it was decriminalised. I got up several petitions in the sixties when such things were very much taboo, I was often, falsely, accused of being homosexual(despite being married with children) for doing so. People couldn't understand why I should care so much about "sexual deviants" if I wasn't one myself! Maybe I'm just a romantic, I don't know? It just always seemed so unjust and, frankly, un-British to actively pursue people when they weren't harming anybody. Good luck to the young lad in this film I'm sure he'll grow into a fine man. I hope he's as lucky in finding a partner as I have been with my wife for the past 61 years.
Sexuality is decided in the first 6 weeks of life. Se yes, us 13 year old can come out as gay. You know when you hit puberty what you will like, so i guess it depends on that.
Actually I knew I was gay at the age of 12 I just didn't confront it until I was 16.
If we would live in a world and society that accepts it, we wouldn't have to lie about our feeling from the start, and we could be open about it at the exact age we get to know ourselves
Thank you for fighting for our rights! :)
I was gay as a child. My first crushes where all girls, and I started confronting when I was about 10, but I had a feeling of "this can't be it" and so I kept it for myself, maybe hoping I'd grow out of it. I only developed an attraction to men when I was 14 or 15. So yeah, I could have come out at his age, but I didn't feel like it was the right time.
Bitch i knew since i was 4
Absolutely adore this video! Thank you too all the LGBT+ who fought for my rights and for those whom continue to fight for others #LoveIsLove

...I also find it interesting that you searched out and actually watched this vid, if you really are so against gay people... Seems to me, you're hiding something.
I had my first gay experience with my little cousin when I was nine, he was also nine and was deeply in love when I was 12. Now I had been with my lover for 39 years and I tell you that I am glad that things had changed, at least in the western world, because I remember something that I will never forget; when I was 15 a policeman beat a friend of mine and naked down his teeth and we were to afraid to complain. I am 69 years old now and I still remember with such sadness and my friend was so beautiful and it was my fault because I kissed him on the street and some people called the police on us. So be very happy for what you have and always remember that the fight is not over and do for others what we have done for you!!... Many hugs!!...

Right. Unlike heterosexual marriages, like Britney Spears, who married her boyfriend in Las Vegas in 2004 and had it annulled 2 days later. Or Carmen Elektra and Dennis Rodman, who were married for 9 days in 1998. Of course there's Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, who divorced after 2 1/2 months in 2011. Then there's Lisa-Marie Presley and Nicolas Cage, Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock, Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney, Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd and etc., etc., etc.

13 year olds are being pressured by their parents and being supported to do stupid decisions when their older when they ACTUALLY HAVE A FUCKING DEVELOPED MIND. Why do people think its alright to be this and that when boy and girl has existed for thousands of years. People like you question the norm all the time. Why can their be the cake gender? Why cant they have their bathroom? You should check your privilege. Really? Is that what you kinds of people got? Like i said boy and girl have existed for a very long time its like languages and numbers. We eventually used all the same numbers. Just because you feel straight on mondays and non existent unicorn gender on fridays doesnt mean its a real gender and its only existed since 2016.
@@kenfraza Hola gracias hombre
@@redfear7757 your point? And btw if you feel str8 on Monday I don't think you'll ever not feel str8. Yeah boy and girl have existed since the beginning so have gay people. Only that boy and girl was accepted and gay was not for no reason at all. Times have changed now and they're accepted. And btw being gay is not stupid or a decision. And no one is being pressured by their parents to be gay. Even if they somehow do try to pressure their kids to be gay..If they're not gay they're not gay. And that's it. Now the question is why do people like you and some parents pressure their gay kids to be str8?. Which in itself is impossible btw.

Being gay in Asia is not easy at all, even though society is open, the concept of Gay still can not escape the so-called traditional concept of the ancients. Gay concept was only popular in Asia about 10 year ago.
This is great video !
In which part of Asia do you live in? I live in the Philippines, and while most people don't mind if you're gay (except for Extremist Christians), the concept of gays is still very stereotypical due to the fact that a lot of the gay icons here are stereotypically gay. You can imagine how small minded the Filipino's view is on gay people. But the gay society here is very proud and is a vastly large group of LGBT+ members.
Carlo Mendoza true that.
Carlo : i live in a big city of VN and yes i understand your mean. In Philippines they also VN ... they don't mine if you are Gay!
But back 10 years ago, the concept of Gay is still new and still stumbles many old social prejudices. The LGBT community in Vietnam has grown a lot and it still growing !
And oh ! until now ! Still, some people are surprised and slightly grumpy when they know that i'm gay. But that's a minority because they're the ones who were before

Hello, I am 13, and also gay, but I’m still in the closet. This is a private account so my friends and family shouldn’t know about this. My family is Christian so I feel like I’m walking on cardboard all the time. I haven’t really told anyone that I know yet, but I’m planning on maybe telling a few close friends soon. There is this one boy in my French class that I’ve really fallen in love with. He is lean and about 2-3 inches taller than me. He’s a competitive swimmer and I’m a competitive dancer so we are both quite athletic. There was this one special moment that happened when we stood really close to each other, chests almost touching - It was amazing… And I feel like that if he didn’t like me that he’d back away, but he didn’t. He’s insanely cute and seems so perfect. I’m on the other hand a little messy. I stammer sometimes and sometimes say the wrong thing. But not him. He always seems to say the right thing and is so flowy and calm when he speaks (if that makes sense). If there is any advice anyone has, I’m open to it. I just wrote this to share my story so far :)))

Jamie - TheLowDown it is truly amazing to hear that and I've always been afraid to come out because of my dad like my dad knows I'm bi but inside I know I'm gay and it's hard and not as easy because my dad makes fun of me for everything I do
We should all be grateful to the older generation for paving the way for all of us to be as free as we are today.
fair point
This child is lucky to understand he's gay at 13. When I was nearly 13 - 14 I used to be attracted to men, but I couldn't understand it because all of my friends used to be attracted to girls. I didn't know about homosexuality until I went to Grade 9, that is in 2018, My age was 17 when the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India decriminalised homosexuality in India and made discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity punishable. It was the first time I got to know that I'm gay and it's completely normal. I have come out a few months ago, and everyone is supportive 😊🌈.
Percy is no joke such a sweetheart.
This is so epic I truly loved this, would love to here more. I'm 62 and came out to family at age 13 and to the world at 18. I have been there.
I dated a girl that thought she was bi for 10 hours and later she broke up with me because she realised she was straight. We’re still best friends thought.
I'm glad you guys are still friends! It's good that she realized she was actually straight with someone who continued to support her 😊
6:15 subtle joke that goes unremarked
I really doubt a British man of 78 talking about events 60 years prior would know or even be dropping current American drag references...he means a cup of tea, rather than gossip :-)
when he said "Roger's bedroom is my bedroom" to his mother and she chose scotch over a cuppa when asked right after, he implied that she was in a bit of disbelief/shock/low-key WTF that he's gay but not in a hostile manner cuz she knew it's none of her business and that she wanted to drown the WTFness with booze. The way she chose scotch _is_ the humorous part that went unremarked by the boy, because what 14yo knows booze jokes?
timbearcub They meant him offering a cup of tea or scotch because his mother just figured out that they were a couple, and she said scotch. That was the funny partt.
I laughed and the glanced at Louis and he had a blank face....and I was like "Did this kid not get it?"
i understood what he meant. I
This 13 year old is being given an amazing gift,of insight into the world he will happily accept, but hearing the fight it’s taken for his freedom.
It’s brilliant
What a beautiful exchange between the generations! We’re one human family 🏳️🌈
This makes me feel so lucky, I went to my first pride when I was 13. Can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to not be open about who I am.
I’m scared of coming out , in my family I’m expected to grow up to marry some guy but I’ve liked girls for almost as long as I could remember. I hope to one day marry someone and have a happy healthy relationship .
Go for it hun I wish I would have told my mom because it came out in a different way that I wanted to. I finally told that I was being molested the person that I thought I could Trust lied tell my mom that I was bisexual my mom didn't really care though I just wish that I could have told her so it can be that moment for me and my mom to actually have a moment to talk so do it don't care what people think BE YOU
I understand ,just do whatever you ready as my advice is talk with mother first with good time laughs jokes then talks in lights things as like saying "what are you will do if I am gay?" Ask your mom then if she ask you are you gay to see if she got angry tone voice then better wait til you get older about saying 17 to 18 then your mom cant do about it as yours old enough to do whatever you want !! ITS TRUE !! TRUST ME OK ...IF NEED ANY ADVICE OR WANT TO ASK SOMETHING SHOOT THRU FB TO OK TAKE CARE AND HAVE A GREAT DAY !

PLEASE DON’T BE GAY it is wrong
This is amazing and so wonderful for these two to be able to openly and frankly discuss their lives. I'm in awe, and a little jealous of those today being more able to be free and find love.
Really.. You are. You are so frank. And I like old man.
Wow. As an out gay man approaching middle age, watching this was extraordinary. Thank you.
"Do you want a cup of tea, or the Scotch? - I think I would have the Scotch, please!" :D
😂😂👌
How mentalities has changed. This is a testimony of the history we all should be aware how our ancestors lived in a constant struggle to tell who they are and how they felt. Im proud of the entire world and what its becoming.
I'm 22 and gay but my walls so high they better be prepared to scale Mt. Everest or I'mma die alone 😂
Lmao
@G O Give me the climbing gear.
I shall scale this wall in the name of love!~
XD
this made me so happy. i'm actually crying

He 78 and openly gay.Maybe just a phase 😂
Ok then, maybe being straight is a phase too

@@blueskies7117you are the most naive and vacuous person I've ever seen on UA-cam and in person , you dont agree with being gay but there happy , deal with it .
@@blueskies7117 they'd never fuck you lol
@@gladiatrix4310 Well said man. I don't believe that men are 100% straight anyway, since loads of them especially college dudes turn gay for money.
My family say that me being gay is just a phase and I'm just doing it for attention 😡😡😡
Aww that's terrible !! They'll understand later in life
They will ask you why you haven't find a partner later in life, then bring this up
That's so they don't have to face it, themselves. Even in a loving family environment, when a child comes out, there can still be a fleeting thought from the parents that they somehow failed their offspring. That's how ingrained society is, sometimes.
You should have said back
'Being straight is just a phase and people only do it for attention'
Taylor Jones just keep being gay and they will realize it's not
the older one is so sassy 😂 love him 💖
I'm a straight guy, and this is quite amazing. There are many things wrong with our society rn, but we are definitely more accepting of everyone in this day and age
i am 15 and gay this is the best vid I have seen in a long time
Disney Lover ❤️❤️❤️

i am 74, and i would love to do a q&a with someone in their teens, or other age bracket. life was very different for me back then when i was in my teens, or 20's. although too many of my peers, the few that are left, have forgotten how bad it truly was, it was essentially the same as russia today. point for point. and not just in one region.

I'm a girl and im straight af but I support lgbt bc almost all of my friends r either lesbian, gay, bi or trans but I still love them no matter what. My best friend came out to me that she was bisexual and she sounded like she was nervous but once she told me i already knew any ways bc I saw the bi flag as her profile pic on her instagram, and I felt like we became even more closer of being best friends. she has dated many guys and she was beginning to have second thoughts and she said she wanted to have a girlfriend in high school, I still support her while she supports me and my boyfriend. My mom is Christian and she would be angry if she found out abt me having lgbt friends. but love is love. i really admire how lgbt couples love each other more than straight ppl do bc they love each other for who they r and not just by their looks.
I wouldn't say LGBQT people love each other more than straight people do. It all just depends on the couple. Also they do like each other for looks, not just personalities.
The couple put tears in my eyes. What kinda hardship they had to endure before being able to be together. That can only be imagined by gays of nowdays. That alone is heartbreaking. And yet they've been together for half century. Takes infinite guts and wisdom! Very happy for them!!!
I enjoyed watching gays of such different ages. I'm 67 and times are better now.
John Endicott A lot better :)
@@LouiCharlie I can tell your 67 as you are very confused about where the space button is... Don't worry you'll get used to it
When he was talking about getting arrested for being gay it made me so sad and I couldn't help but well up with tears.
Such a wonderful interview! This is more like we young rebels had in mind for the future when we formed the Gay Power Movement back in the '70s. We've come a long way (no pun intended) since those culture-changing years. Bless you, young man, for contributing to a continuity of gay culture that was suppressed for so long. We helped change understanding and legal definitions. That's why one of the early battle cries was "Come Out of the Closet and into the Streets!" We did, and it worked.
i just saw this omg im literally in tears! louis you are seriously incredible! and same with percy you guys are changing perspectives on homosexuality and its so good to see!
Cody Knibbs Thank youuu !!!
HE IS MY AGE AND HAS A RELATIONSHIP AND I'M PROCRASTINATING TO DO MY HOMEWORK xD
DeadCrazy ! I’m not with him anymore lol
HE DIDN'T DESERVE YOU
U r stupid moron!
Bro I'm at 14 during Coronavirus, relationships don't have time for me 😭
Lucky kid... it's not many 13 year old boy's that have 💯 family support. He seems very mature for a 13-yr old boy, he should have a bright future...this story should be uplifting to young people everywhere. Being gay is difficult, especially if you have to deal with it at school..but, this kid is so positive and in control of the situation- I, for one, give this boy total support for his upcoming life's journey... hope life always treats you right, buddy 🙏🤟!
I'm crying out how sad some of this stuff is but I'm also crying because of how supportive the boy's family was, I wish I had that
We've come so far!! We still have a long way to go, especially here in the US
Delphi Sun Hopefully a few years to come it will all be accepted :)
Delphi Sun I agree, we do have a long way to go even in the UK. There has been huge changes in my lifetime but I feel fear of the unknown is what stops some moving forward!
We should be educating each other on all differences not just LGBT. At the end of the day it's our differences that make us unique so something to be celebrated not hidden no one should be made to feel alone or scared. X
It is terrible that it was illegal be yourself.
And I understand that boys point of view, because I'm 12 and pansexual with a preference for girls (lesbian) and this is definitely one of the most touching things I have ever seen and has made my week!
Stay safe in these troubling times and be true to yourself because there will always be so am that will love you! 🏳️🌈 #pride #gaypride
Absolutely love this video, love learning gay history😍😍
