This video re-affirms two things: 1. Kids are viciously cruel in school to the point Stephen didn't want to initially attend his own school reunion 2. When the vicious kids grow up, they appreciate you for what you are and not what they want you to be
I think viciously cruel goes a bit far here (I hope). There is this video of a parent going to a school board meeting where he reveals that one or two of the people on the school board bullied him, dunked his head in the toilet and beat him up or something and that the school didn't do anything about it, that's viciously cruel imo. Of course he hates to see people like that running his son's school. They didn't apologize or anything. They didn't change. It's somewhere here on UA-cam.
I was bullied all my school and high school years.. I also wouldn't attend a reunion, no way! I’d argue that take a lot of confidence to do that. He’s not even a bad looking guy either and he seems really nice. It sucks that we as humans like to compare ourselves with each other so much, it really makes it hard to just be proud of yourself and happy with who you are and what you’ve accomplished thus far. He was very shy but people knew who he was. We talked and he actually was very funny. That was like five years ago. Damn I'm old. 😄

@@leae3750 I say this because I’ve experienced people abuse my kindness, I’ve always considered how other people felt before me and that shouldn’t be how things are, YOU come first, forget everyone else. @Jupiter thanks lol. It was in a positive way. It's just interesting to see that a million people will watch the same thing and get to different conclusions. And you don't know till someone voices (or writes) their thoughts. Have a nice day lol. Peace.
Moral of the story: if you love and appreciate someone for who they are, tell them. We all need a little reassurance from time to time and there is nothing wrong with that.
There is a woman on Facebook who extended a friend invitation to me a couple years ago. We have two or three dozen mutual friends from high school. But I can’t for the life of me remember anything about her. I would have believed the lookalike Steve.
Honestly I felt my heart aching when Kattie confidently told the lookalike is a fake, the moment of realisation that many of us actually undervalued ourselves because of past negative experiences! Really thankful that his classmates remembered him for who he was!
@@Brodc That's why I said I felt my heart aching for the unexpected genuine feelings his classmates had of him. Well obviously there are toxic schoolmates that aren't worth our time but there are also classmates whom may have viewed us differently as compared to how negatively we viewed ourselves
good for him but right now in my senior year of high school and in 10 years if there ever is a reunion, they wouldn't even recognize me in any way, a few days ago because everyone else read his papaer my teacher asked a kid if we would trade papers and she said my name and he said "who is that" like damn I'm actually invisible unlike Stephen the meme

The entire time I was watching this, I was thinking: Stephen (the real Stephen) seems ultra-cool. He's musically gifted, eloquent, and he's freakin Dentist. Oh, and by the way, he's only 29. He still has tonnes of time to travel the world, live where ever he wants, be whoever he wants to be. Dude's got it made in the shade.
I wish I lived in the US so I could include him in my group of friends.
Yeah, the real Stephen is probably more successful than the actor who impersonated him since I don't recognize the actor an since he's working on a vice video. Also Stephen seems like a really nice and friendly guy.
OMG SAME!!
True, true
"Chicks still dig me"
I was dying.
@@j.fragoso7451 a lot of actors are working actors, working gig to gig, not everyone makes it to the big leagues.
He literally could be that guy. Just hit the gym, grow a 5 o'clock shadow and throw a band together
How is this possible that someone in another land thinks exactly the same like i do!
I don't understand people like him who come from an advantage situation.
I hope he does see this. Cause your right! He can literally get there. He resembles him and can def look a like him.
That’s what I said
I'm thinking in the high school video dude was jammin' that sax. He so totally could do it.
Man, I loved this so much. I was wondering in the beginning what he thought he was going to gain from sending in a fake. Great video for people out there.
The concept behind his app feels like a Black Mirror episode.
True
@Jupiter loll I don't mean to be following you around. I just happened to click on the same comments you did and through reading your comments, I'm getting a tiny glance at your mind, personal beliefs and point of views and I'm fascinated.
On god
@Jupiter thanks lol. It was in a positive way. It's just interesting to see that a million people will watch the same thing and get to different conclusions. And you don't know till someone voices (or writes) their thoughts.
Have a nice day lol. Peace.
That’s why they created the show..
Moral of the story: if you love and appreciate someone for who they are, tell them. We all need a little reassurance from time to time and there is nothing wrong with that.
I thought the moral of the story was "don't lie about yourself at your reunion".
@@ScribblebytesWorldwide Nonsense tbqh. His peers didn't ask, "Where is the real one????" He still needed to come by himself.

The fact that no one believes he is the real Steven shows that humans are incredibly good at recognizing faces lol
Yeah exactly even if he knew all the answers they’d not have believed him.
That’s so weird because I genuinely think I wouldn’t recognize people from high school
yep. Faces are easier to remember than names, especially if you've seen those faces repeatedly.
@@ceciliaw1065 same. Most of the people from highschool I wouldn't know.
There is a woman on Facebook who extended a friend invitation to me a couple years ago. We have two or three dozen mutual friends from high school. But I can’t for the life of me remember anything about her. I would have believed the lookalike Steve.
“I’m stephen, I’m 29” spoken like a true imposter
And "yes I am HIM" xD
LOL
SUS!! Lol
1k like
“You’re not Stephen”
“Im him, Im Stephen”
Honestly I felt my heart aching when Kattie confidently told the lookalike is a fake, the moment of realisation that many of us actually undervalued ourselves because of past negative experiences! Really thankful that his classmates remembered him for who he was!
she was insecure how good he looked so she shamed him and then was happy when she found the fat nerdy real him
Bro I could literally pay a black guy to pretend to be me and nobody would notice it wasn't me.
@@Brodc That's why I said I felt my heart aching for the unexpected genuine feelings his classmates had of him. Well obviously there are toxic schoolmates that aren't worth our time but there are also classmates whom may have viewed us differently as compared to how negatively we viewed ourselves
Or you know people just thought "He was never that cool and charismatic, this is clearly fake"
good for him but right now in my senior year of high school and in 10 years if there ever is a reunion, they wouldn't even recognize me in any way, a few days ago because everyone else read his papaer my teacher asked a kid if we would trade papers and she said my name and he said "who is that" like damn I'm actually invisible unlike Stephen the meme
Was a lovely social experiment, super cool short documentary serie. Love it. The support of the social environment its SUPER important. Let’s say NO to bulling.
quite possibly the most ridiculous, confusing and heart warming thing I've ever seen in my life..this was a real roller coaster ride!!
For sure!
The most heartwarming thing is that the first person to ever question the lookalike was his crush. Goes to show she actually did genuinely care about Stephen.
Makes you really think, as a teenager we can overthink and undervalue certain things, but not in later life
And the coolest thing is that you said all this before you even embarked on a PS5. 😩 😷

I’m Stephen and I’m 29.
He tried to make it cringey.
not to mention waiting until he was in the hotel room to tell him they were shaving his head, whether he liked it or not.
