Gotta love when you're just searching out things to see and do in Alaska and stumble across people who really put out solid travel videos. We've watched and rewatched your Alaska videos, partly because our weather wasn't nearly as beautiful as the weather you got while you were here. Also in part because it feels like you're truly enjoying yourselves and that translates over UA-cam. You've got big fans over here 👋

Newstate Nomads, I just stumbled onto you a few minutes ago, and liked what I saw. I drove to AK from IL (solo) in '84, and enjoyed every minute. Whittier is isolated, I'll grant you that. But, I'd bet a few in the Bush would give it a run for its money. One would have to be Anaktuvuk Pass, which is 59 miles west of the Dalton Hwy. to Prudhoe Bay, located in Gates of the Arctic N.P., and is home to the most isolated post office in the country. Another would be Adak, which is halfway out the Aleutian chain, located at 1142 miles from Homer, which is the nearest town on the road system. However, if you're talking about being able to drive to it, Whittier would have to be at the top.

Whittier is not the most isolated town in Alaska by a long shot. You can drive to it from anchorage. There are many communities in Alaska that have nooo road access, including, but not limited to Cordova, yakutat, most of the southeast communities, including the capital , juneau, ak. Only access by plane or ferry. Whittier is a beautiful spot with a road.

Don’t wish to be a know it all but the progression of cars into the tunnel does not go as stated. The fifth lane is for occupied motor coaches and the like, they go first. How do I know this? I driven a coach thru the tunnel countless times.
