This whole Alaska series has been one great video after another. I've said it before, but the A+K video and editing skills are crazy good. I loved the extended views of the salmon working their way upstream.
This is the most stunning and beautiful scenery! You captured it beautifully. Again, you’ve outdone yourselves. Thank you so much for taking us along with you.
This whole series has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I appreciate the content you both put out so much. And the fact you share it so freely is such a blessing.
My husband and I did this trip two years ago. We went through the tunnel going the other way. We cannot believe how wonderful your trip has been and how it reminds us of the fantastic things we did. We want to go back! Thank you for bringing us with you! 😃 I love that you don’t let the fear of bears affect your journey.
Not sure what was the most fun in this video - the shared train and car tunnel, salmon in the stream or Adam feeling around with his foot for his muddy sandal. We loved it all! Thanks for sharing. 😁
Beautiful! The views in Alaska have been breathtaking! What a great adventure y'all had on this day! Mud, Salmon and bears oh my! Loved the tunnel too! How interesting. We always enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your road life with us.
Massachusetts local here! I found your channel when planning my first trip to Hawaii with my family (Now on trip number 5), and then to Portland (Maine). I’ve fallen in love with your content, goofiness, and life. This whole series just makes me so happy (in like a warm and fuzzy kinda way)😀. Thank you both!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤ because you are taking us along now, Im happily reliving some cherished memories of our "Burch Family Grand Adventures" 2000-2003. It just makes my heart so so happy 😊
Everytime I go to Whittier to work, I think how blessed I am to be able to see it. I have been there at least 6 or 7 times, but the people who see your videos don't really get to see the whole impact of the dramatic landscape like you did. The mountains are so much bigger in real life.
You are so much fun! I love your outtakes at the end. The Kona shake! I'm shocked that you just saw your first bear, but glad you did. So fun being on this adventure with you.
Commercial fished salmon out of Whittier in Prince William sound for 15 years 1978-1993. It’s great tagging along with you guys and seeing my old office again! Already looking forward to next weeks video, hatchers Pass is awesome!
OMG! What an incredible experience! So beautiful and such a great pay off at the end if that trail. With all the berries and salmon I'm surprised there were no bears sharing that trail with you. You guys always make me smile with your videos, so great to travel along with you guys!!
Those zoomed in shots of the glaciers are so well done! Great camera work as always. The tunnel reminds me of this tunnel in Switzerland where you ride in your car on a train! It's kind of terrifying lol
This is one of my favorite videos you both have shared with us. I watched a PBS documentary of Whittier and thought for sure I would love to visit this place the next time I go to Alaska. Yet, you took it to another level with the hikes on trails that were not even discussed on the PBS show. The highlight, yes, was the salmon! Thank you for giving another beautiful view of Alaska
Finally you are enjoying good weather for your hikes and visits. Great video, always a pleasure to watch it. Thanks for preparing and sharing it!!! Just waiting for a new one. Ja ja..
Fascinating video. What a unique tunnel. Loved seeing the huge salmon swimming upstream and sharing your first time tasting salmonberries. The mud was worth it!
Every time they drop a vlog, I’m like YAY! Cause there’s no better vloggers in the USA! You know who I’m talking about, A+K! So what are you waiting for, go ahead and press play! Seriously this vlog made me so happy!! I enjoyed every minute of it, mud and all! The tunnel was cool, Emerald Cove AMAZING, views for days! Adam & Katherine, you're the best!
What an adventure! One for the ages! This video was unique and beautifully done. The salmon, the berries, the trails, waterfalls, lakes, icebergs, the tunnel, and those mountains! Another world! Whittier looks so charming and beautiful and of course, anything Corps of Engineers is close to my heart. I worked for the Savannah COE for 25 years! Thanks for taking us along this epic trip! And I will definitely try that African peanut recipe!❤️
I've watched all your Alaska journey videos. I took a road trip from Fairbanks to Kenai peninsula back in 2009. Went to Portage Glacier, whale watched and saw Orcas and walked up to Exit Glacier. It has receded so much from when I was there. Thank you for this video series and last year I cruised the inside passage whuch was amazing. This makes me want to road trip again. Alaska is so beautiful!!!
Absolutely stunning video! The compositions, the colours, everything is just perfect. People like you motivate others to go outside and explore. Congratulations, excellent job!
Oh my word everywhere you look the view is just magical and awesome. The mud though was insane!! The salmon making their way upstream is just, I have no words. They get to where they need to be with such determination, bruised and battered but but victorious. I can certainly learn a lot from that. Take good care.
What a another amazing video!! The berries looked so good and i couldn't believe how big the salmon was swimming in the little creek. The views was gorgeous and i cant wait till the next video.
Whoa!! Literally just in awe over the beauty of Alaska. Also kinda sad that your AK series is almost done, BUT you two pump out such quality content that you could literally film paint drying and it would still be an amazing/captivating video!
We think Alaska is YOUR state! Between the beautiful hikes and your exceptional videography, photography it’s been so fun to watch. The Salmon WOW!!! I was at Clear AK, 7 hours N of you, in the dark December. I Stayed at a “secret base” that was fully functional connected by tunnels, most who are there, never leave durning the long winters. It was an adventure. Great video guys! ~Cara 😊
It is very dog friendly (although we wish more people would follow the leash laws) and mostly drone friendly (outside the National Parks of course). Thank you and thank you for watching!
Wow Wow!!! Incredible once again. You guys master hiking to the limit. I never realized the costal areas are so lush but then again you have lakes and ocean why not plus those mountains waterfalls and of course awesome glaceries. Love all you send to us. Thank you. Not to mention the salmon run, incredible!!!
When I was in Alaska in 1987, I took a tour bus from Anchorage to Whittier, and our bus drove onto a train to go through the tunnel. The wait for the train was hardly boring -- there must have been 30 bald eagles roosting in trees along the track. In Whittier, we boarded a boat and cruised to Valdez. We saw a couple of orcas. Thank you for taking us with you.
Wow!!!! I keep telling my husband that we need a van so we can have some of these same experiences!!! Your videos are so fun and inspiring! Alaska is on our bucket list. Hopefully we can make the trip soon!!!
Lol, glad you gotta see Whittier. I think half the people of anchorage have never been there. Beautiful place even on the drive in. Glad y’all really enjoying everything.
I was wondering when a bear would show up since you were hiking along the bear buffet line😄! Today's Special salmon and berries! Every video I watch I'll say this is my favorite, they are all thoughtfully done! This one was really a great variety of views and wildlife! Your excitement and awe over the beauty and what i call "special treats" (aka bears and salmon swimming up stream how cool) is contagious to the viewer! Just fantastic footage with enthusiasm and joy that rightfully can not be contained! Food looked fab too! So happy for you both!!! That mud pedicure was free too!😜
Yay you made it to Whittier! Salmonberries come in red, yellow, and orange. Red doesn't dictate doneness. And as someone who forages and did so this summer in Whittier, the berries have been ready since late June which is earlier than normal. You guys by far make the best tourism videos I've seen in Alaska. I like how you include local and Alaska Native history. It's very refreshing. Yay you saw a bear! Sad that you didn't check out Portage or stay in the many free pull outs there. The Trail of Blue Ice is a fun and easy one. Plus, paddling down Portage Creek is fun and Class I that ends on the highway. It's an easy shuttle with a bike.
They were fun to pick and try! They were really tasty. Thank you so much! That means a lot to us coming from a local We’ll definitely return to Whittier on a future trip. There’s lots to see and do there as you know!
Glad you found the Emerald Cove trail. That road extension to the new trail head is only a few years old. Prince William Sounds flora and unique ecology were mostly only accessible by boat. It's still fairly unknown to most day adventurers. PWS is pure magic and a staycation destination for locals that know.
My fiancé and I have very much enjoyed watching your Alaska videos! Your videos have been informative and entertaining especially your Denali series. We are leaving for Alaska on Friday and be in Denali for a week and Alaska for two weeks. Safe travels! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
We rode the train from Anchorage to Seward. Did Kenai Fjords National Park and took the train back to Anchorage. Thanks for showing much in the peninsula that I did not see. The tunnel and the fish was really neat! BEAUTIFUL scenery 👌 😍 ❤️.
If you find any more salmonberries, the yellow ones are ripe, too. VERY GENTLY pull on a berry; if it almost falls off by itself, it’s ready. We pick them on Adak; add a little sugar and water to a couple of cups and cook down til thick and spread on pancakes. Yum!
I literally just visited Whittier on 8/23, so I couldn't have miss you guys by much! Did Portage Pass but through the fog and rain. What a unique little place - hope you guys enjoyed!
I was at Whittier and Portage Pass before, Portage Glacier used to have a boat tour that went up to it. You guys got very lucky with hardly no wait to go through the tunnel. Hatcher Pass was a great place I remember too and I look forward to the next video. But one thing- you have not mentioned ice worms. When I was there I heard about ice worms and I thought it was a local fable but one of the glaciers had a sign for ice worms and a local guide pointed them out and sure enough there were these tiny little worms which fed on debris on top of glaciers. I went to one of those ice cream shops later and asked for “ice worm swirl surprise” and got a laugh.

What did you guys bring to eat on long hikes in Alaska? Not sure what the options are because of the bears
This whole Alaska series has been one great video after another. I've said it before, but the A+K video and editing skills are crazy good. I loved the extended views of the salmon working their way upstream.
Thank you so much! The salmon were so fun to watch. We were there watching them for probably almost an hour!
This is the most stunning and beautiful scenery! You captured it beautifully. Again, you’ve outdone yourselves. Thank you so much for taking us along with you.
Thank you!
Amazing video of the salmon trying to get upstream! Almost like a Nat Geo special. Thanks guys!
We thought that was SO COOL!
Living in the lower 48 we hear about how beautiful Alaska is but your videos are really showcasing how insanely beautiful it really is! Great series!

We’ll remember this trip for a long long time! We’re thankful and lucky we can share it with others! Thanks and thanks for watching!
I agree. I am so fearful of the bears that I won't go hiking alone. I am trying to get out there more and start hiking but the bears! 🐻
Emerald Cove trail was absolutely gorgeous. Loved the Kona shake:)
Yes it was! Haha thanks!
Not sure what was the most fun in this video - the shared train and car tunnel, salmon in the stream or Adam feeling around with his foot for his muddy sandal. We loved it all! Thanks for sharing. 😁
Haha I thought it was gone forever!

Beautiful picturesque scenery at every turn. Amazing how the salmon swim upstream in such shallow water. Thanks again for sharing. 🐻🌻🐕

Yes the mountains in Whittier are right in your face! It’s a really unique and fun place
You are so much fun! I love your outtakes at the end. The Kona shake! I'm shocked that you just saw your first bear, but glad you did. So fun being on this adventure with you.

We thought that would be prime territory for them! Thank you and thanks for watching!
Those zoomed in shots of the glaciers are so well done! Great camera work as always.
The tunnel reminds me of this tunnel in Switzerland where you ride in your car on a train! It's kind of terrifying lol
Thank you!

The tunnel is an attraction in itself! Super gorgeous there huh!?
All I can say is WOW! TYSM for this!

I am absolutely floored you guys had covid and still able to do these strenuous hikes. You must have made quite the quick recovery. So amazing!
It was thankfully a very mild case!
Whittier Alaska is a quaint drinking town with a fishing problem. Great video, as always. Keep up the worthwhile work.
😂 thanks and thanks for watching!
I’m unbelievably happy for you guys

We think Alaska is YOUR state! Between the beautiful hikes and your exceptional videography, photography it’s been so fun to watch. The Salmon WOW!!!
I was at Clear AK, 7 hours N of you, in the dark December. I Stayed at a “secret base” that was fully functional connected by tunnels, most who are there, never leave durning the long winters. It was an adventure. Great video guys! ~Cara 😊
It’s definitely our favorite state so far!
Whoa! That’s a different Alaskan experience!
Thanks for taking me to the Whittier area. Never made it there during my 2012 Alaska trip. Safe travels!
We're happy we could share our adventures!
Absolutely stunning footage
Berries and Salmon, a bear’s favorite! Alaska seems so dog friendly and drone friendly, just loving your videos and getting to see Kona along.
Thank you! ❤️
That's too funny! Bear proof & Adam proof garbage receptacle. hehe Enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery & the bear.
Haha that dang dumpster! 🤬
Fantastic guys! Need to get there someday. It's nice to finally see the sun out in some of your shots.
You can say that again! We experienced lots of rain! We were thankful for any dry weather we could get!
Insanely beautiful. Awesome photography. Well done!

When I was in Alaska in 1987, I took a tour bus from Anchorage to Whittier, and our bus drove onto a train to go through the tunnel. That would be wild to experience riding in your vehicle on a train! The views in the waiting area are amazing!
Love to see the abundant salmon swimming around. 😄
Wow!!!! I keep telling my husband that we need a van so we can have some of these same experiences!!! Your videos are so fun and inspiring! Alaska is on our bucket list. Hopefully we can make the trip soon!!!
We highly recommend touring Alaska in a van or truck camper. It gives you the ultimate flexibility! We hope you can make it happen!
💜💜💜Amazing views!!! Loved the little rap at the end lol 🤣👍🏼
😂😂 thanks for watching!
Super beautiful as always! You look like you are having the adventure of a lifetime!
We sure are!
Another great video. Have so enjoyed the entire series, but then AK is one of my favorite places! Happy travels.
Thank you so much!
Omg that bear was going to hike that trail too to eat the salmon haha. Awesome video, can’t get enough of the beauty of Alaska.
We were wondering where all the bears were! We thought that would be prime time!
Lol, glad you gotta see Whittier. I think half the people of anchorage have never been there. Beautiful place even on the drive in. Glad y’all really enjoying everything.
Whittier was awesome and totally worth the trip out there! And yes the drive alone was 👍👍
Every video gets better!!! Congratulations!!

If you go back, the Sunshine Cafe on Turnagain Arm is a MUST STOP! The best blueberry pie on Earth!!
Absolutely stunning!
Very nice tour, the view is fantastic 👍👍👍

It is so beautiful in Alaska. You have really visited some amazing places. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. I enjoy your videos so much.
We really have. It’s been a great first trip! Thank you and thanks for watching!
Whittier is one of the most beautiful yet strange places I’ve ever been. I loved it
Same here!
Whittier was one of my favorite places during my first trip to Alaska in 1971. No tunnel then.
lucky you got to see all those humpies! i've seen them in the ocean, but never swimming up a small stream like that! 🤩
Yay you made it to Whittier! Salmonberries come in red, yellow, and orange. Red doesn't dictate doneness. And as someone who forages and did so this summer in Whittier, the berries have been ready since late June which is earlier than normal.
