@@blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098 thankyou. I'm definitely going to give it a try. The bowl sounds awesome. ❤️❤️. Hmmmm maybe a project box crochet out of twine coming up in my world me thinks. 🤔🤔
I appreciate you making a separate more detailed video of the twine! This is marvelous and makes it much easier than other methods! You are a wonderful teacher, thanks for sharing so many things with us!❤
Dear Marion, Thank you so much for making a separate tutorial video showing your method for twining cloth especially for the joining method. It will be so easy to find now. xo 💐💕
Great video. Looking forward to the tutorial on the tailor’s ham. Thank you Marion for your generosity. I have learned many things from your tutorials. ❤
Yes me too. always wanted a tailors ham as well. And all the other wonderful things tailors have haha. Like sleeve and cuff (hams?) they iron those parts with. Marion ( I think?? Correct me if I'm wrong Marion) had a video about her collection of "hams". Not sure which video now but I may have been in her craft room tour?? Sorry I have a terrible memory. Lolol.
I agree! I'm assuming for a center pull, you just wrap around your hand....? I love making twine. It's good to see your method. And I LOVE your join! Definitely going to do it that way now! 😊
I remember seeing you make twine before, but this video is an excellent demonstration. I've been thinking about giving it a go. Now I have more confidence 😊. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher 🍎. And congratulations on 18K subscribers!!! I'm not at all surprised 🎉🎉🎉😂
Between your tutorial and k3n's twisting method I can finally make fabric twine 😁 I pin mine to a cushion and then turn the cushion over as I'm going so the twine wraps around it. Thank you 🥰
Thank you Marion for your video and what a lovely surprise a sneaky video. This will be invaluable to many crafters who may struggle with dexterity issues. @@marionsworld24 wow, thanks so much for linking that, Marion! Lol, I have made notes in a little notebook of tutorials of yours that I want to refer back to, but somehow I missed the twine one. So, thanks again 👍💕
@@marionsworld24 lol, as soon as I watched your twine video, I realised I did see it in the summer, but hadn't noted it in my little book😂 and I see it has a really clear title, too! Silly me. But now I've seen it again, it's engrained on my mind, so I'll definitely know where to find it when I harvest some nettles. (That'll be the scary part for me!)
It's because both strands are twisted the same way...so they end up twisting around each other.. Have a look at some garden string.. it's the same process exactly. Or..the same as when your thread twists up whilst you're stitching. You have to keep untwisting your thread to keep it smooth. 🙂
I'm watching this thinking about how I anchor my cordage, and then at 12:16 you mention it! I wrap it around my foot as I build up length. I use my second toe.
Just posted a short video! I pin to my rope to this huge heavy floor pillow which is heavy, so it stays good! I love the way I weave in the ends, like you teach. My hands feel better now, working them like this is helping! ❤
Thank you Marion, this is exactly what I m needing to complete a project I m making for my son and his fiancées wedding later this year; this video slowed down the process for me so that I could understand what to do- my brain gets muddled with twisting one way and twining the other if I don t go slowly. Hoping to try the twining over the weekend.🧡x
That's just the way it goes ☺️ I was supposed to be getting this done ages ago. I needed a big long length for today so after I'd started making it I just thought I'd see if I could get a quick video together and get it out straight away ☺️

Lovely. I love to twine, and your method will make iy so much quicker for me. About 2 years ago, I twined for weeks, then I crocheted a purse out of it. I get so many compliments on it from all ages and sorts of people. I am always looking for projects to use my twine yarn for. I like your idea of using it as a necklace - I have some sari silk yarn and a few lovely lampwork beads that need to come out into the world. And, I'm looking forward to watching your shoes video. I've been thinking of making Japanese sandals (zori) out of twine. Thank you.
I love lampwork beads. Yes..make a necklace... they'll look beautiful! The silk scarf twine is so easy to do. Because of the thin strips it's even quicker to make and feels lovely. The crocheted purse sounds great as well.
I learned a method for yarn where you twist the strands opposite each other so both inward or both outward and they automatically twist around each other. This was over 40 years ago at a 17th century living history museum. I don't remember the fibre, wool, linen or other. We tied it to something across the room.
Cool video, what an amazing teacher you are. Here's another funny method if you wear Crocs shoes. Sit back in your recliner and put a dowel between your Crocs. The holes are perfect! I never tried it but I've seen pictures of crochet people with their yarn on the dowel.

Oh this was another great tutorial. It’s so nice how you can make them any thickness depending on the width & type of fabric you use. So to end it would you just tie a simple knot?
I usually leave the ends unknotted whilst i'm making the twine (I just wrap the two strips of fabric around the ball). But once I'm using it for something I put a few stitches in each end to secure the two strips. The knot is then optional depending on the look you're going for.

Great video and tips on how to make the joins of fabric very strong! I make lei with this same twist technique and most lei makers use their big toes to hold the end of the lei
