It’s such a joy to hear someone so happy about the small things in life. Not that the Hussif was a small job altogether, but your joy at the small wins all the way through had me smiling for the whole video. Thank you for making my day - and it is such gorgeous and useful item!

Oh this was such a delightful video to watch! Not only have you fashioned yourself a new, uniquely beautiful needle book, but it clearly brought you so much joy in the making of it. Yes I imagine it feels very tactile with the embellishments, yet it looks so soft and comforting to hold in your hand. Love all the needles in their original packets, a lovely reminder of sewing heritage.

Blow, I threw a worn pair of leather gloves out last week while packing for our move. My husband has been urging me to lessen my craft stash, so I compromised by not adding to it. I can't wait to move and get started on some of your wonderful ideas. Meantime I have a small piece of slow stitching on the go, with minimum colours and threads, a hexie epp project and my crochet blanket for the evenings

'Better done than perfect' is apt for many of us crafters. We compare our wonky creations to those Instagram-perfect ones, and wonder why we bother! But it's the joy of making stuff. Love your hussif, and your delight in stumbling across the idea for the closure and the use of the glove thumb. Thanks for posting this video.

Thank you Marion for your video. What an amazing project a lovely Hussif. I got so excited with you over the thumb of the globe I clapped, which is funny at 4am 😂. This is so what I was thinking of. I knew a little needlebook was no use to me but I had never seen anything larger. This will fit the bill, you know we need to change our needle size and type often in the sort of stitching we do so we need instant access. Some of my students gave me as a retirement gift a whole range of sizes and types of needles and that's the bundle of packets I have been struggling with. This project means I can have one of everything to hand, excited to start.

Hello Marion. I LOVE your hussif. Especially all your beach finds and the leather fixings. It reminds me of mine. I made it from clothing scraps and fabric that I'd hand dyed, and I use it all the time. My needle book isn't attached, but fits in a pocket. It holds all my sewing necessities in one place. And I'm very fond of it. Odd what makes us stitchers happy. 😊❤

Having watched you make this Hussif with all your brilliant ideas, the needle case I was going to make is now going to be a Hussif. Having seen the original idea you had for closing it gave me the idea of using a piece of old clay pipe which was amongst the many items found when I had an allotment. I too have a collection of old packets of needles, old bone and metal crochet hooks, some of which I still use when making crochet items for my dolls house. Marion you are a joy to watch. Thank you.

    It's not just you..
I'm kicking myself for throwing out my old garden gloves! At least I still have my old moth-eaten woolen blankets. I'm planning on doing some dying. Sometime I'd love to see your stair rug. I used to do rug hooking and still have the supplies for it. Thank-you for sharing your creative process. You are an inspiration!

Lovely needle book.A friend of mine whose name happens to be Marion, once said to me “ Have you heard the three feet rule, you stand back 3 feet and you don’t notice any mistakes. “ She was correct no one notices ❤🇦🇺🦘

I totally agree with that! 😂
There's nothing wrong with being critical of your own work...as long as it's in a positive way that lets you move forward having learned something. But if it stops you starting to be creative at all.... Well that's not so good.
Most things need lots of practice and you improve your skill each time..☺️

It is so clever how you put the fun bits of creative cloth with the beach finds and feel of the ripples on the beach edges. I love it. I have lots of shells I have saved from beach vacations. I will try attaching them to my slow stitching projects. Marion thank you for your inspiration and good teaching. ❤
